Most/Least fun powers
Least Fun:
Thunder Strike/Total Focus/Tremor/any "slam dunk" animation - Congratulations, you are now the world's slowest luchador attempting a double axe handle blow from the top turnbuckle. |
In addition to Shield Charge/Lightning Rod, I also want to add any knock up weapon attack. I play CoX with my girlfriend a lot, and she never gets tired of me saying how I hit a guy SO hard, he flew up in the air.
I also love that one villain patron power where you fire these little glowing missiles at someone, and they lift them up in the air, circling their body. That looks great. I just have to figure out what AT can actually take it, so that I can start working towards it.
As for least fun powers, any attack from a teammate that sends my target flying away from me. Man, do I ever hate having to chase down something I was just beating up on.
Fun?
Disembowel and Head Splitter back to back. If you time it just right you cleave through their torso as they crumple to the ground.
Energy Torrent and Shockwave back to back. Like skeet shooting an entire group at once.
Power Thrust into the blue barrier walls in outdoor missions. They stick in very strange positions, especially if it kills them.

Count me in the Propel crowd - it never gets old. What's even funnier is that
the graphic happens client-side. So, what *you* see being thrown isn't what
your buddy sees on his screen. My friend and I would say what we saw everytime
my Grav/FF would cast it.... "Fridge" ... "Forklift"...
Also favorites of mine:
Short Circuit and Tesla Cage: "Excuse me while I tap into the power grid for
a second here"... cast, cast... "There, much better.". Cage is the coolest
looking hold in the game (imho), and SC just looks awesome when it cuts loose.
Someone else mentioned Placate: Seconded. I still smile and think that Star Wars
line nearly every time I do it... I simply can't help it...
My least favorite is Voltaic Sentinel. A blob of lightning, how nice... Hey,
every few seconds, it puts out an anemic spark to irritate folks... how meh.
Fun Thread.
Cheers,

Most fun: Anything on my Fire/Fire Scrapper.
Lest fun: Assault Rifle (when I'm on my Fire/Fire Scrapper) -.-
Fun Powers:
Trip Mine-when solo or on a low Damage team I always get a small smile on my face when I reach the 3 second mark and then all of a sudden, a colorful explosion with bodies flying everywhere.
Stone Spears-A tier one attack that I love to death due to the animation, throw in a full set of kinetic crash and it turns into a decent lift type power and makes you look epic while beating people down.
Ice Slick/Earthquake/Freezing-Rain For that unfair advantage.
Carrion Creepers-Large mobs=Amazingly awesome power that chews up mobs and scares your team mates.
Phantom Army-"It's alright there's only one of them..Wait where did those other three come from?!?"
Crane Kick-Stylish and I love attacks with knockback for looks.
Vengeance-Game over mob.
Not so fun:
Mind Control..
Speed Boost-Last only 2 minutes, times 7 people on large teams, then make it extra annoying with SB MEH NOW.
Fitness pool
Snipes
Invoke Panic
Detonator reads like it should be a fun power. Can anyone confirm? I've never had enough patience with /traps to get to it.
Stay Gold, Paragon. Stay Gold.
Nolite te bastardes carborundorum.
Footstomp.(swapped to ground punch) Cause when i use the ground punch, and send people flying, it makes me FEEL superstrong. It's a clasic Hulk/Superman showing of mega strenght and i LOVE it. ALOT.
And knockout blow. Winding up and letting bad guys have it, Popeye style! |

Most fun:
- Full auto - the animation rocks.
- Energy torrent - for 2 reasons. You can bowl critters that have no KB prot down hallways like pingpong balls; and, go to skyway and use this on critters up on the sky ramps, and watch them go flying waaaaaaaaay off into the sky/plummeting down. Tee hee.
- Inferno - has the best nuke animation imo
- Neutron bomb - has its own unique animation where you throw a big radioactive beachball at your enemy. Very pretty. I'm sure it used to look bigger several issues ago, did they make it smaller?
- Trip mine - muah hahahah. Such a fun trap, especially if you have several stacked.
- Lift - playing vertical pingpong with your enemy is a lot of fun.
- Gravity distortion field - I really love the animation of this group hold. Whilst simple & clean, you also see the air/gravity around them sort of pulsating.
- Wormhole - which becomes even more epic if you have a cliff nearby.
- Singularity - the more singies on team the more fun this becomes.
- Fish slicks (ice slick, sleet, freezing rain, oil slick, earthquake) - watching your enemy flop about on the ground like a fish out of water never gets old.
- Confuse powers - so much fun. Especially on embalmed abominations, sappers, forcefield generators, cimerora surgeons, ruin mages, rikti guardians and luddite lieutenants (the ones that then buff you with fortitude). Nothing like having an enemy buff you or debuff their own brethren.
- Carrion creepers - awesome animation and a bunch of creepers that will follow you across the map under the ground and then resprout!
- Fly trap - my favourite pet animation
- Repel - fun if you want to go bowling enemy mobs in hazard zones
- Lightning storm - a kick *** pseudo pet with an awesome animation
- Howling twilight - the 2nd most fun rez in game. It rezzes a whole team, disorients the enemy, and damages them a teeny bit.
- Barb swipe - this animation is funny as hell to watch. It's like an angry kitten trying to exact his revenge.
- PB/WS Nova & Dwarf forms - best transformations in game with awesome animations and powers, so much fun!
- Assault bot - he is master and king. All hail the assault bot. *i love my assault bot*.
- Repair - this has a unique and lovely animations (you heal 1 robot pet by sending a swarm of nanites to him).
- Elixir of life - this is the most fun rez in game imo, especially if the target has never seen it before, resulting in "why am I vomiting??"
- Puke powers (noxious gas, poison trap) - nothing like stopping your enemy in his tracks while he empties the contents of his stomach. "Halt in the name of Longb.... BAAAAAAAARFFFFF"
Least fun:
- Stone cages - for 2 reasons. Firstly, it makes the enemy very hard to see, especially if it is a big enemy or if there are a lot of enemies together. Secondly, it tends to make teams experience lag (I have experienced this and others have mentioned it also).
- Carrion creepers - because they also give me lag (and team mates have mentioned this also)
- Disruption arrow - plays an annoying sound with an even more annoying pulsating white/greyish animation
- Hand clap - its loud, annoying, and usually sends mobs flying all over the place.

Glad to see Trip Mine mentioned. With a lot of recharge, you can put down a sifgnificant minefield without it being too burdensome, and even on teams you can often drop one or two before a fight without slowing people down.
It's hysterical to do things like knocking a bad guy back with one mine and he lands on another mine (or more than one). Also, outside a certain range from you...60 feet, maybe? 80? Not sure...the mines will not detonate, even if someone steps right on them. You can use this by laying a tight cluster of mines and then backing way off...let a teammate (Tanker or some substitute) pile up a bunch of bad guys on top of the Trip Mines, and then you come running up. When you get into range all the mines go off at once, each one hitting all the bad guys...it's just awesome.

Most fun: Wormhole. So many fun things you can do with this power: Make it rain NPCs, bring them inside stores and buildings, bounce them off walls, etc.
Least fun: single target buffs. Having to keep a team of 8 buffed up is more chore than fun.

I'm amazed I haven't seen Bonfire, unless I missed it. Crank up the recharge and create a virtual pinball machine to lure baddies into. It's great fun predicting bounceback trajectories and creating a field of inescapable bouncing DOOM!
Most fun:
Has anyone said Ninja Run? I can't get enough running, bouncing and flipping. I often times find myself running to places even though teleport is sitting right there in my tray.

most favorite
- knockout blow
- any kind of confuse power
- fulcrum shift
- trip mine
- psi wail (VEAT version)
- propel (especially with particle physics turned on, can turn a mish map into a junkyard)
- wormhole (forces enemies to cluster)
- footstomp (with groundpunch animation)
- autopowers (dont have to worry about them)
- AoE buffs (RAs, world of pain, ect)
- force bubble (can fling low lvl enemies across maps)
- blizzard (nuke with no target cap)
- rain of arrows (very strong attack with no target cap)
- ninja run (replaces travel powers for me, wish i could slot it though)
- mystic fortune (who doesnt like a 20 min buff?)
- self destruction
- single target buffs (makes me feel like a buff bot)
- gale (very annoying that it forces you to take it on most ATs)
- powers with continual sound effects (hurricane, arctic fog, ect)
- sleep powers
- powers that do no dmg (some exceptions, but hand clap should do dmg for example)
Least Fun:
Any Buff/Heal set that isn't on a Mastermind- I hate playing support. At least with a MM I can effectively solo and don't have to put up with people begging for buffs/heals. |
Least Fun
Speed Boost -- I've cast this so many times and it wears off so quickly. |
Not so fun:
Speed Boost-Last only 2 minutes, times 7 people on large teams, then make it extra annoying with SB MEH NOW. |
Least fun: single target buffs. Having to keep a team of 8 buffed up is more chore than fun.
|
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
as for the other single target buffs, i dont see why they cant be changed to AoE with a slight increase to end cost (what they did with mm training powers essntially), doing so would definitly help rid us of the "buff bot" feeling
Least fun:
Getting Speed Boosted unexpectedly in mid-air as I'm jumping toward a mob.
I've caught flak for agroing 2 mobs because of this several times. The kin SBs me as I'm jumping toward one mob, and I go sailing over it into the next one. I prefer to jump into mobs, instead of run, because it makes it easier to center myself for an AoE when I land.

OMG...how could i forget LRM Missle????
Anyone who hates snipes has either not seen this power used or used it themselves. This has got to be the single most rock on snipe power in the GAME!
Had a friend that ran a AR/Dev blaster to 50 and picked this up...he absolutely loved it. I picked it up on my Psy/MM Blaster...and OMG IT ROCKED! It's pretty baddass on it's own...but couple with BU and Aim...LOTS...OF DOOOOMMM!!! I could damn near wipe out a whole spawn with this sucker alone after BU+Aim...UN-FREAKIN-REAL!
