Yeah, this is diffrent. Cynics can shove a sock in it.
I see, you're quite right. It's different in that it's exactly like a regular invasion week, except they run special bits of it while 98% of the world is at work.

*yawn*

Guess I'm not missing anything.

Dearest Ava...

We need a sit down, and let's talk about those lovely ribbon capes you sport. I am thinking a whole line of Rikti inspired wear for the Rogue Isles, and I assume Filthy Serge will rip my work off yet AGAIN.

I dearly miss you, darlings, and tell your two sidekicks that I have cookies should you wish to come back.

Love and hugs,

PS: If we MUST put on a show of fighting so be it, I know it's what the kids like to see these days... But honey, the things I could do for you three with teal..

Yeah, but the "threats" seem to invariably come when most people are at work (or in class)... so why bother even getting a hat?

See, I actually think the thing was handled unfairly. I logged in and was almost instantly notified that there was an invasion in Atlas, so I hightailed it over there, quickly got myself a team and started hunting bombs (Which I might add were strangely scarce) and then when the invasion began in earnest we laid into them and had a jolly time (RIDICULOUS command lag aside though that really should be looked into somehow), only to find out after I spent the time fighting them off and looking forward to GMs or a mothership or what have you that all those things had happened in KINGS ROW were I was not aware an invasion was happening.

We did not receive the same treatment in Atlas, nor were we awarded the gold titles. If they were going to test a new event with special stuff like that it should have been in ONE zone, instead of two. I logged on today specifically expecting something from this and really looking forward to it, and I missed out because I picked the wrong zone. Not cool. I'd hope that there will be a repeat on virtue sometime soon because my blaster there wants a go at it, and she was downright cheated out of it.

Avatea, do you think in honor of the event Jay could whip us up some special Tin Foil hat costume parts?

You know what would be great?

If that wasn't a bug. If the Rikti in these invasions had some sort of "temporary Riktification" power that functions similarly to confuse and causes random PCs to appear as enemies.

Okay, that by itself wouldn't be great. But if it went along with a chance for anyone who gets temp Riktified to get a PvP drop when they get summarily squished by everyone around them, that'd be kinda funny - and would help work more of a really really really rare commodity into the game.

I'm no fan of forced/random PvP, but Rikti tech that makes PCs appear to be enemies (and even better, if the character in question had their name Riktified when they got hit with it) would be fairly story-consistent (get beaten down and it stops the transformation), and the possibility of a reward for getting smacked silly in a no-debt environment would be entertaining - to me, at least.

I started saying a similar thing. I didn't think it was a bug at first. I thought the Rikti having spies disguised as regular supervillains was part of the "new" Rikti invasions they were hyping up. But I started sounding false alarms once it was revealed it was a bug. Still, it was an awesome event. And Niviene schooled me. Both in my discussion on VU2010. And those stupid Rikti Monkeys in Nerva. *shakes a fist*

Mod08 just has an itchy trigger-finger it seems. But that's okay. It was fun, it was different, it was worth my monthly subscription fee.

Oh look the Rikti are invading for the 2129373th time. How immersive.

Use a different villain group.

Good grief... The negativity...

I'm excited to take on some different twists to the Rikti invasions!

I only hope there will be many more chances for me to catch these!

Doesn't change the general opinion that the rikti are lame. It's like someone said earlier. Same car, new rims. A pinto is still a pinto.

What Spartan and the other folks on this side are saying. It's old, it's tired. I don't mind it popping up once or twice a year--but don't sell it like some sort of special event. Well, hell, I guess that would require marketing to do some work, so I'm sure they're NOT pushing it in any way--just the Community people. And really, adding one or two new NPCs is more like one rim, not four.

Rikti invading? ZzzzzZZZZzzzZzzzz...

Then there are the people like me who completely missed this and are bummed. You can't please every(any?)one, I guess.

Now, yeah, I'm sorta miffed I missed the event but I think there's something that needed to be said here: Thank you for making this happen. There's tons of other MMOs out there without these kind of events and we're really lucky to see these things happen. So seriously, thank you for making this game my game of choice.
