  1. Bah, I forgot to add the three Health and End. Mod. IOs to Health and Stamina.
  2. G'Day! So, my main character, Outback, is a BS/WP scrapper. I've had his current build for awhile now, and it works... but I have a feeling it could be much better. I've recently acquired a large amount of influence (see Forum Title :P) so I can now afford to fully deck out my favorite character.

Below is his current build. If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears. Changing his current build or starting one from scratch, I'm willing to do pretty much anything needed to make Outback the best he can be. Cheers!

  3. FINALLY I am able to become a VIP again, thus letting me post on the forums.

A big Outback THANK YOU to the PERC for this event. I was sadly still F2P during the finals and was unable to be on the test server in person, but I was logged on and representing Virtue nonetheless. The overall winners looked great, albeit similar... STILL! Being Mr. Paragon City for what I think is the best sever in the game is quite the honor enough for me. Thanks everyone, cheers!

    - Outback, player of Automobile.
  4. Heh, well it looks like I was right after all. Those summaries really explained what I thought in my mind MUCH better then I could have though. Cheers mates, and after thinking a bit more, gonna go with an Earth/Storm controller: "Landscape" on Virtue Server.
  5. Been doing some reading/research, and from both that and what I've seen in-game, Earth/Storm and Plant/Storm seem to be extremely good at lock down. However, is there anything else they have in common, or are different? Plant seems to be a bit more damage oriented, while Earth is more control... am I right in this assumption? I'm thinking of making one or the other, but kinda want to know what the real difference is between the two first.
  6. This seems like a fairly good combo. For my concept, a hero that can summon forth the "primal energy" of the Earth itself, it fits the bill perfect (I already have a controller, so instead of making a /Storm, just gonna go with /Elec and //Ice)

However, not having made a Dominator before... is it any good? I define good as in the powers will mesh somewhat, and not just be a cluster**** of random powers. :P

How the HECK did you do that? Seriously, my above build is what in my mind is the extreme, giving up most things for pure speed...

I make it 30.2 mph, using that same build with the slotting re-jigged slightly and swapping Aid Other for Stone Skin.

As an added bonus, it now has 90% S/L Resists, is softcapped to S/L/E/N defence, has considerably better Regeneration and Recovery and the attacks are generally better slotted. I ignored recharge set bonuses as since you didn't take Hasten in the first build I assumed recharge times are largely unimportant to you.

Still not how I'd go about building a Stone Tanker, but it'd be pretty nippy!!
Wow, I actually like this as well.

Also, with i19, I WILL be able to take Hasten. Just not slot it.
  9. This is my future final build for Guardstone. The powers aren't in the exact correct order, but they're all there at least.

Final Running Speed: (With Granite Armor and nothing else)

  10. G'Day mates, Outback here! Just wanted to pose a question, maybe state a comment, the like.

Now, my first character I ever created, back when I downloaded the trial account, was/is a stone/stone tank, Guardstone. I LOVE him. However, he isn't the best stone tank around. But for me, that's not the point. I have IOed him (and still am, almost done the final build) to be as FAST as possible. Not the best, just the fastest. I'm curious on how fast you can make a stone tank.

Right now, Guardstone's run speed with Granite Armor active, no other powers (like Rooted) or buffs or anything, is: 20.21 mph.

I still have yet to add a few Aegis to him, since two of them give a +5% run speed if I remember correctly, and I can add them to a few powers. However, I'm curious if anyone else can do better. I'll post my build when I get back to my home computer, but consider this a challenge! Who can be the fastest stone tank?

    Decode This!

G'Day mates, moiy noime's Outback! I dant nun o ya poor blokes'll undastand wot Oi'm actlay yabbin 'bout, sah Oi'm jast gonna yarn 'bout wot Oi love best: bean a bonza 'ero! Oi'm fram Dawn-Unda see, onna wolkabout ta Paragon City 'ere ta foind moiyself, roight? Destiny 'n' all that.

Oi wos in wots it called, Talos Oiland, lookin fa that InFront Steak'house shack, whenna bugga wit a red headband asks me fa a loight. Naw, Oi dan't smoke them sticks, say Oi say "Sorry mate, Oi dan't got none" and 'e's loike, "Alroight, 'ow 'bout that wallet?"

  12. G'Day mates, Outback here. Been thinking about this build for quite awhile now, and I'm just curious... would it work? I read Eldandil's guide about it, and looking past his super-snide remarks, I saw problems but at the same time potential.

Guess I've always been confused on what [b]Burn[b] does. Would Teleporting into a mob (with your Ice armor on) and using your PBAoEs like Short Circuit, Fire Sword Circle, Consume, Blazing Aura, and of course, Burn, actually work? Hot Feet also gives me a bit of a worry. Does its fear/slow effect effective enough as well?

Sad thing? I have a level 50 Fire/Fire/Fire blaster, my best toon in fact, and I don't really know what Fire Manip does hahahahaha... I just use it for Build Up and Consume (which is WIN! MASSIVE! WIN!)

Anyway, hopefully people here have enough know-how to fully explain if this combo would work or is just a theory (granted, some theories have merit. Like, say, the theory of gravity? :P)

    Cheers

  14. Wow.... very impressive!

Kat/WP does seem better, but there isn't a chance I'm changing Outback. His "Broadsword" is the gladius that I RP as a "Knoife"

Yeah, I got about 3-4 partial sets of Kinetic Combats (2-4 each, not taking the Chance for Knockdown or whatever I think). I got a cheapo IO build almost done, but might as well go all out on him.
  17. Hey mates, Outback here. My main, "Outback," is a BS/WP and is all-and-all rather good. Not the best, but he holds his own.

However, I have only partially IOed him, and at that, only semi-cheaply. Seeing that I have a Mac and don't have Mids, plus I'm not too versed in all that shenanagins, I'm curious... what CAN a BS/WP really do, at fully potential? I'm talking pretty much anything, what are the numbers, is it really a good combo of powers, anything it's better at then most builds, ect ect... I plan on devoting all my info $$$ into maxing him out, just curious what the end results might be.

Cheers, and appreciate any help that spawns here forth.

    - Outback

Note: I don't like using Purple IOs, so heads up on that... they're just WAY too bloody expensive.
  18. Holy Crap!

I posted this, forgot about it, came back... Way more replies then I thought X_X
  19. Who are the Icons of Virtue? I don't mean Icons as the Tailors, I mean who are the characters that you think are special to Virtue. Be they famous for...something... or memorable, and/or make Virtue what it really is: the BEST server in City of Heroes.

Make a list and post it. Comment. Do whatever. Here is some examples of who I think deserve to be recognized here:

    1. The Cape Radio.

    - All the DJs on this amazing station deserve to be listed here, but instead, I'm just going to list them as a whole. They are truly a mainstay in Virtue.

    2. Ascendant

    - How can he not make this list? He's hilarious, and even has a badge! Truly a great one if there is any.

    3. Arbiter Fabulous.

    - I mean, come on. He's FABULOUS! For those that have not had the pleasure of meeting this character, or the player of his character, I say to you you should. He's definetly one of those characters in Virtue that make it a cut above the edge, remind us that we can have fun and still be serious.

That's just 3 I can think of, but I know there are many many more.
  20. I have a Bane Spider, Spiderknight, on the Virtue Server and for some strange reason I can't recolor the Maces you can use as a Bane Spider. I have been told time and time again that this is possible, but for me, it isn't. I cannot change the color of them. Is this a unique bug or something? It's getting very annoying now, since no one I've talked to in-game has ever heard of it.

    - @Outback Saviour
  21. I know they exists, but how do I find them? Apparently they aren't the same for PCs, or are they?
  22. Wow! This is amazing feedback! By the looks of it, Dark/Elec does seem really fun, and I have started leveling mine up.

If you see "Doctor Set" on Virtue Server, feel free to say hi.

    Cheers
  23. I'm trying to make my first brute, and my concept is that of a Dark/Elec Brute. Before I made it, I was wondering if anyone knew if this combo worked. I have a feeling it would be killer against energy based baddies, like Rikti.

    ....any thoughts on it?
  24. Basically what the Title says. Even with the correct user name and password, I am unable to log into the game. What happens is basically the same thing that happens if my local connection gone/broken, but I know it isn't... I am posting this after all.

Did the new patch screw something up, or is it something else?
