Fire Kin Master X-FINAL Fire Kin Build
Why stop at 80%? You should just go for the hardcap!

Once you manage to get to 100% defense, you will be INVINCIBLE!!!! |
Awesome! A true genius at work. |
I swear i've never laughed so hard in my life.I rarely reply on the boards ,but i had to for this. Furthermore im so happy that Fire Kin Master didn't hold back in sharing his views (if we can even call it that ) on what he consider's the best of the best fire/kin builds .
I'm with Dual_Gemini here this is just too funny .
I would love to see him get to 100% or even 90% for the lolz at the epic fail it is >_<
<edit - put 10% instead of a 100%>
Oh Fire Kin Master, you are a crazy one! I've been following this thread closely and, honestly, it's one of the most entertaining parts of my day.
And for all those who may be wondering, this isn't some epic troll. I recently had the honor of teaming with this legend on a farm and asked him this question while he was in the middle of fighting a mob with his BF ingame, BOObYMasTerR (or something close to that). They replied in unison that this was 1000% sincere and that he truly has the best build EVARRR. And, for the record, my non-purpled Arch/MM can keep up with his multi-billion inf build with ease. Anyways, since when is an "uber" farm build supposed to be about being able to handle extremely hard mobs. The whole point is speed and drops/inf/xp per min.
Honestly, there's no hope for this kid. I'm not sure if he even reads this, 'cuz he sure is oblivious to what everyone's saying.......

They sparkle and shine when the sun is out,
but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is
light from within"
After googling for awesomeness (*cough* ie *cough* idiots *cough*), I found a worthy enough picture (picture 1).
I then used good ol' MS Paint to trim it and MS Photo editor to add transparency and slapped it ontop of a shot of Atlas Park.
Lo and behold, find below (picture 2) the Fire Kin master in his pure epicness, winning over popularity in the masses in Atlas Park.

Picture 2: final picture, of the master in action

omfg. That is the funniest picture I have seen in a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. And I follow the funny picture thread(http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...186695&page=35) so I have seen a lot of funny pictures, but that one is just

Saw FKM today
He's got a new build. He dumped the entire Fitness pool. Dumped Hasten. Took Ring Of Fire + Air Superiority + Smoke.
Had about 45 minutes of laughs
He also told me Hasten + Fitness pool was for noobs.
I had so much fun
lulz, I think he is just doing this for the lulz, and if he isn't then I'll take the lulz. XD
But fitness pool is for noobs. Just like hasten. You can't slot them for S/L defense, nub.
:P

I think a player with this much skill might be able to solo the STF. Srsly.
@Fail (Used to be @Tux) and @Tuxedo Infinitus Defiant/Freedom/Champion
Favourite Toons: Prosper [Ill/Rad] Controller :: Infinitus [Fire/Elec] Blaster :: Pocket Dynamo [Fire/Shield] Scr :: Fast [Cold/Sonic] Def ::
Inspire [Plant/Storm] Controller :: Quality - SS/Fire Brute :: Double Down [DP/Kin] Corr :: Pwnz [Fire/Cold] Corr :: Fail [Fire/Son] Corr
A "farm" build without Hasten.
Why not build a farm mish with Knives of Artemis and really show folks how farming is done?

I await the
Fire Kin Master X-FINAL +1
Build
Don't beat me up for commenting.. But if this is the same player on Freedom Server.
I have to say he gave me an invite to his AE Farm, which is of course named after him. The layout is a Cave T setting with about 20+ Troll mobs standing 40 to 50 feet from the entrance, enough room to set up and such. And then as you move in more you get clumps of 20+ Trolls with Patrols that walk even increasing that number.
The guy was soloing the groups. We had 50 scraps electric shields in the group, that died when he got aggro.. A Tank tried it after he left, but knew he couldn't handle it and said it from the start.
Nutshell he was fighting a bunch of 52 -54 Trolls. I am not familiar with the Exp rate and if different types of mobs give off different exp even if the same level. So I don't know if 54 Trolls and 54 Carnie are the same exp wise. Or if Trolls are the weak end of exp for level 54 mobs.
As brazen as he is in this thread is pretty much how he was in game. I had not issues with him and went along for the free ride and he was polite to me and a few others, though we did have many that quit on the first few runs because of deaths and some where kicked for voicing their opinions about his attitude.
Again IF it is the same player and Mobs are Mobs, then he was handling more then I have seen others handle. I did samurai and I would say it is similar, but instead of groups of 8 or 9 that keep ressing back up, it was as I mentioned mobs in high teens mid 20s in size and even larger at some points.
Just someones unbiased opinion of being on a team with the guy.

That is the same guy, he posted the farm map he uses and that's what you described. I'm still not impressed, he tailored a farm to his strengths, so what? I did his farm on my Spine/Fire Scrapper, when so many complain about the squishiness of it. So, I'm only guessing the Tank that tried it isn't the best player.

Honestly this isn't that great of a build. It lacks Flashfire, which is a great power no matter what you're doing. Siphon Speed isn't slotted well it's one of the key powers of kin, if you're talking about farming. You want that getting Triple+ stacked. You're going to want at least 2 acc IOs in FS. There's more reasons but I'm not up to posting them.
In a farming Fire/kin you want a few key things.
Recharge. Some people underestimate how much recharge does for you, with enough reacharge you can have permanent Indomitable Will, which is what I have on my Fire/Kin. With that much recharge no matter how sticky the situation Transfusion and Transference will be up most of the time to assist you.
Siphon Speed, Hasten, Global Recharge
Accuracy. If you don't have accuracy, you're not going to be hitting anything, which if you miss a transference or transfusion it could mean life or death. Also determines life or death of enemies.
Global
Resistance/Defense. You can go with one of the other, but I preffer both. My fire/kin has about 50% res to s/l, 40% res tp psy, 20% res to cold/fire and 10% res to toxic Along with 16% def to s/l 40% def to psy 10% def to cold/fire. It's another key component to staying alive.
Control. You don't NEED Flashfire or Cinders, but I wouldn't ever think about replacing them. Cinders is up every other mob and Flashfire is up every mob. You can run in, get Fire Cages off, hit Flashfire, then Fulcrum Shift and spam Psy Tornado (which for me is up every 4 seconds, has tons of knockdown which keeps me alive in a lot of situations, and has the +rech proc which normally goes off in a decent sized mob), Fire Ball or Fissure. By the time Flashfire wears off you're done with the mob.
Oh and by the way, don't be so humble.
I do actually want to see the build. Serious.

People have tried to point out that farming is about efficiency, it's about defeats/minute. It's trivial to put together an AE farm that a fire/kin can do with just generic IOs that will have a kill rate similar to what Fire Kin Master is doing.
Somehow he thinks being the best means being able to tackle a farm that normal fire/kins can't handle. So any controller without very high defense will not do well on his map. But so what? Occasionally my brute farms a map consisting entirely of CoT possessed scientists and Burn Protectors. I guarantee that Fire Kin Master and any other squishy not protected against mez would get punished on that map. But it plays to my brute's strengths. Somehow I can see that and everyone else can see that, but Fire Kin Master can't. And that's where the humor is. It's his amazing combination of arrogance, utter cluelessness, and awesome forum posting technique that keep us coming back for more.
Freedom: Blazing Larb, Fiery Fulcrum, Sardan Reborn, Arctic-Frenzy, Wasabi Sam, Mr Smashtastic.
Triumph Lurker: mintmiki 50 emp/archer
basically, if you see a miki on Triumph, it's probably cute and it's probably me.
Huge thanks to cuppamanga and all the folks in the mac help forum for prolonging my borrowed time on this game.

I think this is the crux of it.
Disclosure: I'm not a Farmer. I am amused by this thread, though.
However, it's clear that farming is centered on "bang for the buck"
He clearly spent billions on a build...so why be a "farmer" if you you have no serious objection to spending the real-world money?
His build isn't bad, in the classic sense (though dropping Hasten is an eye-popper), but he doesn't seem to understand that soloing mobs does not really equal "optimized farming." I'm very sure there are folks on here who measure the Influence per hour, factor in drop rate, and can tell you that by moving one or two items in an attack chain, you can typically increase your return by n%. I don't get the impression FKM goes to that level of calculation.
So, spending $60 or so on a toon, rolling through a farm mission you custom designed, still lacking the serious Inf/per minute rate of other farmers, and calling them out as jealous when some offer constructive criticism is the reason he's not getting a lot of love right now.

The more I think about it, the more I realize this is just like a train wreck: So horrible, yet you feel compelled to watch. @_@
