I liked these a lot, but yeah, they definitely should have been publicized more, I only discovered them a week after they were posted.

Shouldn't Plum Blossom's have been in Chinese?

Did the Rikti use the Presdigitator's wand to help them learn magic?

Fromt he history section of the website:
"All was silent for about 15 minutes. Then a tremendous explosion rippled out from the open portal, tearing through the Rikti base and instantly annihilating everything within a square mile." Is that Tin Mage's doing? And if so, I have to wonder when he activated his oblivion runes. Seems to me he would have had to wait until nearly everyone but Hero 1 was dead to avoid blowing up Omega team himself.

Am I the only one that keep thinking Ajax was the character in the Dark Horse CoH comics, because that character's name was actually Apex?

Also, shouldn't Hero 1's cape be bigger, and have the Union Jack on both sides:

If your being like that then shouldn't his 'tights' be black?

Dark blue, black, practically the same thing.

I loved the letters, so much added to that background.

The Amazing Alejandro J. Cantu is the one who really got to me, having a young daughter myself it just caught at my throat.

What an interesting read! It's more evidence that our Dev Team really cares about the lore of this game when they produce quality work like this for our entertainment and illumination (rather than purely for marketing reasons).

Lore is important - it's one of the few things that makes an MMORPG so much more than just a soulless button-mashing exercise with a chat room added on - well, it does for those of us with an imagination who want to experience more than "nothing but pixels".

I liked Ruin's letter the most from the forums, and from the website Ajax's letter (nice twist) - though Branforth the Seer's predictions were very interesting too - what a shame his clairvoyance didn't go a little further, like a few more issues/expansions further

The only disappointment for me was Hero 1's letter, because I think it was a somewhat missed opportunity to give more depth and pathos to the character, and a lost chance to differentiate him from his rather obvious inspiration.

Look in the Community Digest section, most of them are listed there

Oh, and Dark_Respite, did you notice they gave a few new clues as to Ajax's appearance? Always wears a helmet and average build. Based on his could-have-been-anyone comment. Just noting it since we all puzzled over his appearance when contributing designs to the anniversary video.
Not to spoiler anything, but does anyone else think maybe THAT Ajax got his powers in the exact same way? And the one before him? Maybe he's a totally different person now, maybe even explaining how he survived the blast when no one else did.

Also interesting since Ajax was a Greek hero, and as Hero 1 points out, Statesman is very closely tied to Greek mythology.

Wow.

These were amazing.
Just amazing.

I loved them,
All of them.
Ruin might have been my favorite,
Or at least the one that I hope to see ingame some day the most.

But damn,
Those were great.

The only complaint I have is that I didn't find them until today.
Maybe something can be done to draw a bit more attention to them?
More players should read them, it really adds a great perspective to the game.

Hope to see in game ramifications of all of this, but even if we don't, I really enjoyed getting to read this, as they added to the experience of the world as-it-is.

Thanks whomever wrote these;
Great idea,
Great implementation.

I just happened across the arc getting Hero 1's letter and it was all new to me (granted I am not prone to doing the related arc so it threw me for a curve). My question is how do you get to unlock the other letters? can you do them all on the same character or is it a random letter from the same arc (I'm intentionally not saying what arc I did to get the letter least I spoil anything for any one)

I wonder if it is coincidence that Smythe's dialogue in the Aura mission is randomly truncated?

I suspect not - it now begins with a single unmatched double-quote, and so does at least one bit of text in the new cape mission.

The other letters aren't in-game. They're on the forums here, on another section of the website, and cataloged on the wiki. The fastest one is the wiki: Omega Team. You can follow the links for each named character and read their letters there.

What I don't understand is why NC didnt make a bigger deal about it. I myself only run the arc when a toon needs too for thematic reasons which isnt as much these days with vet and booster options available.

I didnt know a thing about the change till i happened to run it on a toon for the first time in months. if fact the forums is the only place that knew anything of it. all my friends thought it was either new content or a bug leaked content

Pretty much the only mistake they could have made is with the offset red diagonals within the white diagonals. Since they are offset, the Union Jack is not perfectly symmetrical, meaning that there is a proper and a reversed way to hang it. The proper way for a vertically displayed Union Jack to be hung is so that the diagonal bits go, when looking at them clockwise, very thin white portion, red portion, thicker white portion.

I thoroughly enjoyed Ruin's "Letter".

Spoken like a true villain, using villainous language, all the while with a clear vision of his own goals going into something with astronomical odds against his own survival. I'd like to see some more letters from villainous members of Omega Team!

Actually ...

*puts "Nerd" hat on*

It's the "Union Flag"

It's only the "Union Jack" when raised at sea :P

That's actually a matter of debate. Tradition and early proclamations make the case as you stated, but later acts of Parliament use language stating that "...the Union Jack should be regarded as the national flag."
