  1. Negative Rise kept running. Whatever those beings were, he had never encountered any of their type before, nor did he know why they were after him in particular. At least, it seemed they had been after them, and their armoured gear kinda gave them away on that part.

He only knew two things. Beyond this planet just arbitrarily pulling him away from the war-torn surface of a distant, far-off never-been-inhabited before planet, there were two explanations for such a thing. Agents of Heaven have been sent after him, since the "almighty" may've had a hand in sending the incarnate demon to Patches. Otherwise, something in the transmission Vetdjat sent set these beings after him.

The name he chose. -'High General Nev'oroxis...what has that name gotten me into?'- his thoughts lingered, the name echoing within his skull. -'Now what in the Nine Hells am I supposed to do?'-

He continued running, finally escaping the heavier gravity of the Khelaris patch, and landing himself right in the middle of a desolate, desert patch of this world. The dunes before him would provide little concealment, and a quick look around didn't offer much in the way of cover from any scouting parties.
  2. I figured out an interesting way to translate the incarnate ascension for my magic-based, shield/axe tanker in a way that doesn't involve the actual character achieving said incarnate status.

This whole entire time, the hero called Snappin' Turtle has been fighting crime thanks to the magical pairing of the shield and axe he found. The shield & axe are "intelligent weapons", and will seek out their once former glory of incarnate-hood when i19 hits, which means Snappin' will be carrying them.

OK, so maybe Snappin' Turtle will become incarnate by-proxy, still, I like to say he's not actually an incarnate, the weapons are!

With technology origin toons, some of them might actually be able to access something deep within their "souls" (Ghost Widow patron) that allows them to ascend, or they achieve a higher level of thinking than typical genius-level intelligence...total robot hero/villains may just evolve more complex programming etc etc...

Scientists can be seen as skirting the boundaries of accepted scientific practices and fringe sciences...which can lead to their "incarnate"-esque status.
  3. ((The only thing I can think of is the time-stop spell from the real world of Ag'xis goes off, and NR gets away. Also, I'm removing Graxitica from the story and focusing on NR. As to the whole spell thing: it only affects those that have been to Ag'xis, as well as an AOE effect around anyone that's been to that planet. I'll just say the AoE portion of the spell is enough to stop NR, those aliens invading At, and Vetdjat of course.))

Negative Rise noticed the alien being outstretching its hands towards his arms, as if to capture him mid-flip. That's when it happened. However far away, on the distant planet Ag'xis, Jerval's time-stop spell went off. The nature of the magicks of Ag'xis favourbly affected only those that had ever visited the planet and anyone in the vicinity of such a visitor.

Negative Rise happened to be just one such visitor. Being a demon from Hell kinda gave the spells effects a boost, as well, extending outward far enough to stop everyone in the chambers in which he had initiated combat.

He would also benefit from being released earlier than everyone else. Knowing the nature of such magic, he knew enough not to stick around for any "happy fun times" - one such as himself did not stick around to look a gift-horse in the mouth.

Outside of the great structure of the Khelaris city/ship thing, Negative Rise disappeared into the shadows of the volcanic caldera, focusing on making his way beyond the Khelaris patch as time within the chambers returned to its normal flow.
  4. ((I've been trying to think of a way to tone down one character while trying to figure out how to write off the whole time stopping NPC thing I introduced. So far, no dice...otherwise I'm pretty much ready to jump right back in...))

  7. Woot - won a code for Pinnacle (nooooo - I can't share it with the entire server!) then I got screenshots of the winners on Protector.

Hahahahaha Warp...you weren't trying to help!
  12. I gave my comments via the AE comment feature but I'll go ahead and use this thread to bring up one thing again:

The boss for the final mission. You currently have 2 "classic" movie monsters and 2 "modern" movie monsters in the arc. The fifth and final boss could be either classic or modern monster. The question is - what era movie monster would be so nefarious, so cunning, and be enough of a mastermind to concoct such a frightmarish plot against Paragon City?
  13. Nitro Kitty was impatiently awaiting a return call from Tunnel Rat when all hell broke loose.

A giant, clockwork-like robot began firing on civilians, a winged, meta-powered woman known as Lady Praetoria (whom Nitro recognized from TPN coverage) had just saved a woman and her child from the riot, then she herself came underfire while flying high above, swooping back down towards the crowd. There was also some blue-skinned creature fighting off the maniacal Clockwork construct...

    Then, it self-destructed.

Nitro Kitty didn't stand around waiting for that callback. She ran straight in, electrical impulses and lightning bolts swarming all around her; bullets, energy blasts and other projectiles dropping dead or being deflected off her charged, conductive shields.

As she approached the rioting mobs, a couple of Resistance Heavy Barrels had their sights on the TPN showstopper. "Oh - an infamous goldilocks!" one of them shouted out. The other simply lifted his chaingun's business end at Nitro - "Time to hammerdown this blueberry!" he said as he started tapping the gun's trigger.

The bullets from the Heavy Barrel's chaingun seemed to impact her shields with excessive force - the man's aim was good. Some had deflected off, but her camouflaged flakvest took quite the beating. She stopped her charge, turning towards the two with her fangs bared. "Bad move, chomplets!" she snarled at the two as she then leapt at them, siphoning the surrounding kinetic energies right out of the air. A lightning field was already leeching the energy and life from the two Heavy Barrels as she delivered a devastating, overpowered smashing blow to the firing gunman's chest. The resounding cracking noise his armor made signalled to her he was out of the fight as she focused on the other gunner. With a snarling, hissing sound, she let out "There's plenty of reason to fear!" as her kinetically-charged fist caught him with a quick strike to the helmet, cracking it but also knocking his sorry flesh-sack to the ground. Unfortunately the man leapt right back up, only to receive a brutal, armor smashing punch to his head; his body slumping down to the ground with a violent thud.

With those two out of the way, Nitro Kitty rushed back into the crowd, locating that woman and child Lady Praetoria had saved earlier, escorting them out of the crowd. They weren't the only ones Trish saved, however, as Nitro Kitty provided an escort to other child-laden adults that had been huddled with the earlier woman. As she got these people out of the rioting zone, she rushed back behind the building she had emerged from, again awaiting for that callback, but this time fully prepared to be confronted by anyone.

Can ask around, see what others say. Not much asking, certain people, limited exposure. Take a bit of time, five minutes? Ten?"

Depending on if Nitro had any more questions, Tunnel Rat would then hang up with a curt "Call you then," but that was her nature. Unforetunately it left Nitro with as little information before and surely time would be running short as even now the less responsible members of Powers Division would be closing in...

    ***************************
Before Tunnel Rat would get the chance to hang up, Trish Howard, aka Nitro Kitty, quickly blurted out "Find out if anyone needs to be pulled out of whatever operation may've been comprimised by this!" Then she heard the audible clicking sound as Tunnel Rat hung up.

She slipped her thin, compact phone into its holster quickly as she turned back to get a bead on the situation. She heard some of the screaming and yelling, making out bits and pieces of Resistance-jargon in the shouts. She never did find the time to learn that forsaken mumbo-jumbo, but she understood it, for the most part.

She held her ground in the alley, awaiting the call back.
  15. It had turned out to be yet another sunny, pleasant day for Trish Howard. Her morning had been going smoothly; a quick trip into Nova Praetoria to deal with some unfinished business matters from months ago, and then she would head back to Imperial where she lived and worked.

Only problem with today was the riot going on in the Magisterium.

The TPN starlet had signed numerous autographs that morning, which slowed her trip into the heart of Praetoria City proper a great deal. The beaming smiles on the faces of the kids that morning always touched her heart - and she always found herself sidetracked in speaking with the parents of said kids as she signed numerous forms of paraphenelia sold throughout the shops of Praetoria. What was even more comforting was the fact that not a single kid that gleefully approached her was the slightest bit scared of her appearance: monstrous, clawed hands covered in strapped leather gloves of a matching color and pattern to the orange fur with black stripes that covered her body; her non-prehensile tail that swayed side-to-side as if by a mind of its own; the long, white whiskers that extended beyond the confining lines of her face. Always seen wearing a pair of glasses/goggles that wrapped her eyes, every child that watched morning TPN programming knew Trish Howard by another name - she was Nitro Kitty, a champion of good and justice and star of the Enriche-sponsored Nitro Kitty Praetorian Power Hour!

It seemed that today, she would have to use her mutant powers to protect the people from themselves once again. The escalating rise of rioting incidents within the past several months disturbed her...but she knew what was causing them. Being involved with members of the Resistance while starring in a government and corporate sponsored TPN morning show gave her the unique opportunity to best use her powers - saving as many lives as possible. She would begin her solemn duty by telling the family she was speaking with at that moment to hurry on home by avoiding going through the Magesterium and the surrounding area.

As the family ran off, she stood there tapping her foot furiously waiting for them to get out of sight. She then ducked around the corner of a building as she pulled out her phone and hit a speed-dial number. If anyone knew was was really going on, Tunnel Rat would know - as well as knowing if anyone needed to be pulled out of the fire.
  16. Global channels would be PinnBadges and Cozmic's Playground.
  17. After being DDT'd through the table by his nemesis and Graxus' newfound friend Dz, Obligo stands up, a weird glow flowing over his body, healing any and all damage done.

Contrary to what Gehnen believes, Obligo does not befriend the strange, deific being and doesn't hand the being his sword. He simply shrugs, sheaths his sword and goes about playing zombiehead soccer before returning to Paragon City.

Graxus, meanwhile pops open his own 40 ounce, cheering Dz on before the girls leave. After the women depart, Graxus summons up a few succubi to keep them all entertained.

They readily do so, dancing around all the men, their near nude forms glistening in the lights of the club.

Dr. Mechan happens to stroll into the club at this time, followed by six robots. He dropped his shields upon entering Pocket D, 'cause he doesn't need to worry about powers in here. Seeing the zombiehead soccer match, he commands his robots to participate, as the drones stumble forward, one of them falling flat on their optic sensors in its attempt to kick one of the heads. The biggest robot plays goalie - scorching however many zombieheads are kicked his way to ashes.
  18. At - Chambers of Combat!

The dark shields that had erupted around Negative Rise moments before were suddenly, viciously and momentarily dirupted as his "victim" threw a sloppy, yet trained uppercut towards him. Even if it did connect, any burning sensation/binding power of her powered and decorated armor would hold no more effect other than being healed instantly and invoking an equally responsive swipe from his claws.

He shook his head at her in a negative motion as she would soon discover a weakening sensation overcoming her. -'That is, if my little trick works as it should, given their armor...' his mental quip clear in his head, but not echoed in his voice:- "Ah, a female opponent. So they send in a woman. Honey," he smirked as he said this, "this ain't no fantasy-land playing out in your head. Which I'm sure by now you realize this..." his smirk became a more twisted, yet still non-smile. "Also...really? A prattling imp, you say?" At this, he lets out a grating, shrill near-laugh, guttural indeed, yet sounding as if someone had just raked their fingernails across a chalkboard very furiously and repeatedly. With a wave of his left hand, a puff of smoke arises behind her...and a prattling imp appears there when the smoke clears.

Then he leaps up, curling into a ball at the height of his leap, bringing his claws out, down and in a crossed pattern near landing...with a hellish intent of slicing her in half...

    Near At/Outer Khelaris Patch

Graxitica's spell went off without a hitch, encasing his new shell in a protective barrier, preventing further harm from potentially overcoming the shell. He continued, closing in on the caldera...

    Ag'xis

Jerval's chanting was now complete. The ingredient were properly mixed, the pattern was properly aligned.

The time-loop continued on around him - various chambermaids and other personnel of the Tevron Fortress went about their business, some of them had approached him, yet his protective bubble kept him free of any interference.

Meanwhile - Then he leaps up, curling into a ball at the height of his leap, bringing his claws out, down and in a crossed pattern near landing...with a hellish intent of slicing her in half...

Jerval waved his hand, then retrieved his wand from the table he had been using. With two quick words, a flick of his wrist and a thump of the wand onto the table, the spell was complete -

Time throughout the universe stopped, suddenly, abruptly...and Jerval began working on his next task: chronoporting out of this temporal loop.

...except Gehnen who realized Obligo's sword was Rayelian Chocolate. In a flash of light and pleasant man-scent, Gehnen takes a huge bite of Obligo's sword. The Rayelian Chocolate imbues Gehen with super-stretching ability. He quickly retrieves his underpants, punching through the ceiling using his new power. He then spikes them into the ground like a football.

The underpants explode in a cloud of pink smoke, and as the smoke fades everyone is in awe when they finally realize what appears.
However, as soon as the chocolately substances enters Gehnen's stomach, a temporal anomaly erupts within Gehnen, reverting the chocolate back to the cold, hard, metallic substance it originally was.

The blade pierces through Gehnen, impaling the being on the ceiling of the joint. Gehnen is only stuck up there, though...the more he struggles, the worse it gets. The temporal anomaly grows stronger, as well.

    __________________________________________________ ___________________________

Graxus walks over to Dz, high-fives the wizard, and laughs in Obligo's face. He then summons a zombie horde, using the residual spirit energy of this dimension. The zombies break out in /e dance4, throwing their hands in the air like they just don't care.

    __________________________________________________ ___________________________

Meanwhile, Obligo stands up, brushes himself off, lifting up his transformed sword, staring quizically at it. A temporal bubble erupts around the sword, restoring it to its full strength and former, sharper-than-anything edge and shape. After lopping off several zombie heads, Obligo shrugs, and starts playing soccer with the beheaded ... heads.

Awesome descriptions of the four alignments in this game, by the way.

I'll go ahead and use one of my characters to fill in the villainous description.

    Dr. Mechan

Born Elias Matthews, this cybernetic monstrosity is now more robot than human. While he was human and went by the name of Dr. Matthews, he joined Portal Corps straight out of MIT, eventually assigned to an expeditionary team into one of the many alternate dimensions discovered by the company. The dimension this team discovered was guarded by a twisted troop of corrupt Longbow, which proceeded to mow down the extra-dimensional explorers in a hail of gunfire and a rain of superpowered attacks.

Dr. Matthews was captured by these black-clad, evil Longbow, and tortured nearly to death. However, Portal Corps sent in a rescue squad - an elite, super-powered team the company hired for such occasions. The ensuing battle between the rescue team and the Black Longbow was brutal, however, a few of the rescuers managed to escape with Dr. Matthews battered, tortured body in tow.

Back on Primal Earth: The surgeons couldn't believe what they were seeing. The intense and extensive damage done to the body of Dr. Matthews should've been enough to kill him - yet he continued to live. The only course available to them to save the doctor: cybernetic reconstruction. Dr. Matthews would be able to return to work. He'd be able to survive such situations from now on, according to the higher ups. Unfortunately, as far as Dr. Matthews was concerned - his life as a human was over. He no longer found it necessary to indulge himself in human fallacy.

After his escape from Paragon into the depths of the Etoile Isles, Dr. Matthews took up the moniker Dr. Mechan, with a new vision for the planet: the eradication of all human life in exchange for the cold, metal, mechanical world of robots and machines. Until that time his new vision would become a reality, he readily kills any and all humans during his criminal escapades.

And yes, he would revisit that dimension where he lost his humanity...for it would become the new base of his operations for his mechanized assault against Primal Earth.

((Sidenote: Sure, Dr. Mechan should in all reality be thankful to the surgeons that kept him alive. While he would've been grateful as a human, almost immediately he found himself under attack by the very thing that keeps him alive. Each and every passing moment since his "rebirth", the machine code that keeps his cybernetic body operational has evolved on its own and now infects what is left of his human brain. While human, one of Dr. Matthews hopeful prospects in life was to have a family...now, the machine code that sustains him has latched onto that former animal instinct. It's really the closest thing remaining of his humanity: the desire to reproduce. Otherwise, he would've disconnected the various powercells that power his cybernetic shell long ago.)
  21. A Hero is the one that goes and saves those homeless bums (which my Warshade opted not to do - instead the 'shade went after the Arachnos behind the plot!)

A Vigilante is the one that goes and blows up that Arachnos (or other villain group/gang) base, preventing further intrusions by the criminal element. They'll go for coffee after doing so, and may or may not get a good night's sleep. They'll readily accept the assitance of the lesser of two evils in order to thwart the greater evil. They'll sometimes be viewed as the lesser of two evils.

A Rogue would be the one that saves the city council, after refusing to save those homeless bums from Arachnos. Oh - wait - that was a Hero tip mission (figured after dealing with that Arachnos base in the vigilante tip, I needed to rescue some prominent members of society to - hmmmm - not be viewed as a callous lowlife!)...OK so a Rogue would go out stealing those artifacts from the Hellions for their own personal gain (in money and/or power.) They'll kill when needed - if not faced with insurmountable odds and can get away with it.

A Villain would outright kill anyone that got in their way. They'll steal from their moms, grandmoms, nieces and nephews...hell if they had to they'd kill off their family. They regularly steal candy from any and all children they encounter. They kick puppies into outer space. They'll lie, cheat, steal, kill, bribe and intimidate whomever they feel like. They never train their subordinates (hence the paired guards scenario: one hears a noise, goes and checks it, while the other stays behind, only so the hero/vigilante can bust that guard in the face, then use the unconcious body to knock out the other guard [or use the unconcious guard's body as a meatshield...]) They're always threatening their most trusted lieutenant with death after that next failure...and are ALWAYS escaping from that latest supermax facility designed to hold such evil, nefarious of scoundrels.

Otherwise, I think everyone else has pretty much covered this topic fairly well!
  22. The Ancient Warrior of Kalderi - Obligo - had finally tracked his immortal and eternal foe to Pocket D.

Inside the extradimensional dance club, Graxus Qu-Xarxes was enjoying the night life of the D - sipping on some other-worldly alcoholic cocktail while toying with a couple of the female dancers that had been stroking the boney fingers of his wings. Life on this "Earth" had been good to the incarnate Graxus, the corporeal form of the Kalderian God Graxis.

That is, until Obligo showed up. "There you are...hiding out within this club. I suspect you feel protected from my blade within this place?" the warrior casually asked of his enemy, both beings over 900 centillion years old, neither of them bound to any known human laws of physics, time, and any other known laws. Obligo drew his blade - an alien katana, which at first glance appears to be forged of Impervium, the strongest known metal to humans. Anyone who had felt its edge would testify against this fact, however - the katana was in fact made of some element completely alien to anyone on this side of the Known Universe.

The word bazookas came to mind.

However, the most subtle element of their armament - though it may well have been the most noticeable to the demon - were several discrete patterns etched into their suits themselves. While alien in nature, it wasn't too far-fetched that he just might recognize the purpose of the bulk of them.

    Binding runes.

And with their shockers having no effect, the armored troopers seemed rather intent on putting them to use, specifically the ones that graced their knuckles.

    And their feet.

    And their elbows.

    And their knees.

The difference in styles courtesy of two forms being worlds apart couldn't much mask the martial motions of the challenged alien in the powered armor as the gun formerly in hand was let loose to dangle from its shoulder strap. It wasn't the same. But it was close.

    Muay Thai.

And as the others stopped firing, the challengee approached...
At - Chambers within the Khelari Structure

Negative Rise noted the alien armor and weaponry, and the runes definitely stuck out as sore thumbs.

Then he watched his taunted 'victim' moving forward...-'How...quaint.' he thought to himself, his claws still fully extended, awaiting their next taste of blood. 'Runic armor, martial fighting style...good thing I didn't just charge right in...these guys definitely seem to know what they're doing.'-

He brought his right hand up, licking the claws as the challenged alien approached. "So I see you're in no rush to die. A pity, really, because you'll be of no challenge whatsoever, and will certainly die here today!"

    Ag'xis Time-Loop

Jerval was almost done with his chants. The ingredients were all combined now. The chronomage estimated about 2 more minutes of chanting, which would put him at about a half-hour away from his meeting with the Ascended Generals in this time-loop.

Patches - Khelaris Patch, near At

Graxitica was closing in on the volcanic caldera. He had definitely noticed some of the oddities falling around this area. His new body was straining under the gravitational pull of this patch, and the sulfuric and generally dangerous atmosphere of this patch seemed to be causing some unexpected side-effects.

The incarnate beast stopped dead in his tracks, chanting a few words yet again. He was not about to let a toxic environment kill this new shell.
