No More Martial Arts

This is a game of SUPER HEROES!!! Not a ninja game. Before the last booster pack we have ninja costumes, samari (misspelled i know), Karate outfits, fighter costumeset, Kungfu Master Costumeset, Stealth, , and with all that we have powersets of Martial Arts, Dual Blades, Katana, Broadsword.... On top of that, we have military costumes with military guns (guns are not powers), and archery (which ninjas also use).

Can we please get more powers and costumes more related to Super Heroes? Maybe the ability to change my fire/kin into living fire form.

There are just as many "natural" or "non-super powered" super heroes/villians as there are Super powered heroes/villains. It would be crazy to ignore this fact.

Bump and Grind Bane/SoA
Kenja No Ishi Earth/Empathy Controller
Legendary Sannin Ninja/Pain Mastermind
Entoxicated Ninja/PSN Mastermind

This. Comics aren't just for super-powered heroes, you know.

Yea, but they now have a sufficent about of martial arts/ninja material, as far as the military stuff goes, shooting people isn't very heroic....Can we get more super power powersets now...and maybe some non-anime style costumes? There are way too many Anime costumes....give us some more detailed costumes.

Batman is a Super Hero and has no super powers... so he'd be "natural".

Also, this was the "Natural" set. I'm sure there will be others in the future.

The next few powersets that we know of coming down the pipes:

Dual Pistols (naturalish)
Demon Summoning (not-naturalish)
Electric Control (not-naturalish)

So, there ya go. 2/3 of the new powersets that we'll be getting are more super-powered. That's not even counting the last few that we got.

Guess you never heard of the Silver Samurai,Shining Knight,Arsenal,Arrowette,Artemis 3,Body Doubles,David cain,Claw,Deathstroke,Echo 6,El Diablo, and I could keep goin and that's only the DC universe.
There are alot of super types with different abilities in comic form and in game, most of the "Golden Age" super heroes are just fighters, martial artists in masks and trench coats.

Alot of ninjas are heroes too,Elektra is one off the top of my head and what about Captain America/Daredevil who are trained in martial arts.

I understand you want more powers/abilities and that's fine we all do.But,your interpetation and others(specifically the devs)are different.

Look guys, my beef isn't really about natural/supernatural....it's about the fact, that there are too many martial arts costumes and powerset already....I'm ready for some new and improved supernatural powers and costumes. Like the ability to have 2 auras or be able to have more than one designs on my toons shirt..(like having stars 1 and stars 2 patterns at the same time), etc....

I think there are too many super hero powersets. More natural/martial arts stuff please.

I'm fairly certain we've got more stuff for non-natural themed character than for natural ones, so I don't know where the issue is. There are, after all, 4 origins besides Natural to accomodate

Not to mention that, prior to this Booster, there were very few Martial Arts robes to choose from. The two robes (each with two styles) close to doubled the number of Martial Art-themed costumes in the game. So yeah, I wouldn't say there are "too many".

As for the powersets, there's Martial Arts and there's Katana. If the OP is upset about all guns and swords, then there's Dual Pistols, Assault Rifle, Broadsword and Dual Blades. That's not a lot, compared to the multitude of other, more "super" powersets.

There's really not a problem here that I can see. If the OP (or anyone) doesn't care for the ninja/martial arts theme, then just don't use it. I haven't done much with the Science theme stuff as yet, as I have little interest in making a mad scientist character (as yet, anyway).

But I'm not complaining that there's too much science-themed stuff.

Issues which have diddly to do with power themes.

My scrapper doesn't need an AoE. She IS an AoE.

While I don't think you'll get much of an argument out of the player base with a general "we want more of X" type statement, making a general "there's too much Martial Arts, don't do any more" type statement just shows me that you aren't using your imagination enough (in my opinion at least, and that's all it is MY opinion just as your statement is YOUR opinion).

After all, who says the "Martial Arts" powersets and costume parts have to be used only for Asian-inspired hand to hand combatants?

Lets see, just off of a few of my characters:

1) My lifeforce draining, zombie summoning, necromancer uses one of the martial arts robes as his primary costume. Why? Because it's a very "magic robes with style" type of look...

2) My extra-dimensional, technologically powered, energy manipulating Space Ranger (think Green Lantern without any of the copywrite issues) now wears some pieces of the new "terra" martial arts outfit since it's easily adaptable to a futuristic-looking "space uniform" appearance...

3) My broadsword/shield scrapper (not an asian-themed martial art, given, but technicall any combat training is a form of 'martial' arts) uses a neural-disrupting energy blade to arrest baddies...

4) I've got a petless Thugs mastermind (gimped, yes, but still fun to play) who is old-west themed, so there's your "too many guns". This toon will be a) switching to dual pistols and b) transferring to hero-side when possible.

And so on and so on and so on. The possibilities of the various powersets and costume parts are nearly endless and only limited by what you are willing to get out of them...

This is the silliest thing I've seen in a while.

The number of costumes that are not ninja-ey is freakin' huge compared to costumes that actually are ninja-ey.

That's a fact. And you're purposely ignoring it.

And if you doubt what I saying, then prove your point. Go into the costume screen and count up every costume part noting how many are ninja-ey and how many are not.

Go ahead, we'll wait. Until then, you don't have a leg to stand on.

The reason we got martial arts stuff is because it was the next super booster. They're following the origins. And yes, they're going to cover each one, and do some you don't really care for. Me, I make a lot of natural and magic themed characters. I don't make any robots or mutants.

The next pack will be mutant. It's the only one left, so it has no choice. The devs are equally representing every origin. Sorry if you don't like one of them, but that doesn't mean the devs are going to skip the mutant pack and make three more science and magic packs. Whether you like it or not, natural heroes are just as much a part of the culture as spandex-wearing guys who got their powers from a lab experiment.

The Punisher most certainly uses guns.

There are plenty of other comic book heroes that do.

Are you sure about that?

As others have pointed out, there are many "superheroes" who use guns or weapons of some fashion. You need to brush up on your comic characters a bit.

Here's my question for this thread, since you never actually asked one (rhetorical questions don't count).

Have you looked at the pieces from the booster pack?

In my estimation, if you had, and had given it a little thought, you would have seen just how easy it is to apply most of the new pieces to other origins and types of hero, and have them look fantastic. They mix incredibly well with older pieces and let you do a lot of things better than you could before.

I have a robot for whom the gloves and boots look incredible when matched with a Tech skin. Sonic Vision goggles look like great robotic eyes.

I have several magic users for whom the detailed versions of the Terra and Warrior robes look very arcane.

I have several weapon users for whom the armor pieces look great as an alternative to the ones we have.

I have a character who is a Lobster creature for whom the new helmet looks closer to the armored plating of a real lobster than anything we had before.

So yeah, I'm telling you if you're just going by the name of the pack and the pictures used in the advertisement, you are plain, flat out, completely wrong.
