veteran rewards are...
I just have the three month reward. Every time I trudge through the first twenty levels of a new alt, I can't help but imagine how radically different it would be with the vet attacks. Usually these kinds of rewards are pure fluff like house decorations, but vets in CoX get some pretty great stuff.
Absolutely LOVE my vet rewards.
Of course, it goes without saying some love certain vet rewards more than others. Although, I have yet to see the Greek symbols rewards mentioned in anything other than in the context of being 'meh'. I think they're the one true turkey out of 5+ years of vet rewards.
And the most recent vet rewards, 60, 63, and 66 months are the triumvirate of awesomeness, at least for me. The 60 month reward speaks for itself. The 63 month reveal power is fully satisfying the OCD demon that dwells within me. And, as an active market participant, I'm really looking forward to the extra salvage and recipe slots for all my toons, both existing 50s, and brand spanking new level 1s.
Q. Just wondering Posi, where are the new dance emotes we were told would come with GR?
A. Positron: Whoops, my bad.
1387 badges, and counting
Some Vet rewards are weak (Really? the US servers demanded Greek letters? Demanded?), but they are all awesome.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
It's something to see all of the Shards revealed.

I pretty much agree with all of this. Although one of my insane characters does wear a kilt. (It isn't the fact he wears a kilt that means he is insane. It is that he wears a kilt and his travel power is Super Jump.

The only part of a vet reward I didn't really enjoy was the 5 FREE MERITS. Sure, it's free and it's better than nothing...but 5 merits? That's like grandma handing you a dollar for your birthday and telling you to "get yourself something nice" like this was still 1930.
I know they don't give enough for at least a single random roll or something like that because there would be those who would create new character after new character until they received valuable recipes...but I'd rather get another respec or free tailor token than something that I can't do anything with until the character has finished a bunch of arcs or a TF.
I don't see the problem, unless he's going commando.

Yes. 'Place Personal Item' is completely independent of editing the base. You just need to place it right on the first try because moving it after placement requires editing rights.

lame! why are the veteran rewards so lame? like, who cares about extra salvage slots? someone has been playing and paying for 60 odd months and they get this...
|
Yes, vet rewards are lame.
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.
|
I'm thankful for whatever the Developers choose to give us as a bonus.
Sure, I have to wait five more months for my much-desired level-6-travel-power badge, but waiting is part of life. I'm certainly not going to begrudge any people who have played the game longer than I have.
Interestingly, I don't see any people who have been consistently playing since launch call vet rewards "lame".
I wonder if there's a ratio... the longer one has played, the more appreciative he/she is of the veteran rewards... the shorter one has played, the more critical he/she is of the veteran rewards.
And specifically, yes, there are veteran rewards where I felt, "meh" about them. I didn't grumble. I shrugged and logged on and played the game.
I don't believe WoW offers veteran rewards and I can't say for certain Champions Online has such a program.
It reminds me of the "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie" syndrome.

Veteran rewards, some are better than others, but that's very subjective.
Generally speaking, I like having the extra temp power attacks, the base porter, Assemble the Team, the extra costume options, including the Greek letters,
I think I've used one vet respec in all this time. I have so many alts, that I usually have a freespec, or a trial respec if I need one.
Similarly, I usually have enough free tailor coupons that I don't pay for alterations.
More badges is fine!
I don't have, but would certainly like more storage, more merits, travel powers at 6, and the Reveal power.
So, overall I like vet rewards.
www.paragonwiki.com is a great source of information for this game.

Vet rewards are lame, huh? So... you'll never/have never made use of them? You're join date says October of this year, but that doesn't mean you haven't been playing for years so you'll see me asking in the past tense and future tense.
You have never/will never have a toon wear a trenchcoat?
You have never/will never use a vet respec?
You have never/will never use a free costume token?
You have never/will never use the Sands of Mu/Ghost Slaying Axe?
Are you saying that if/when you do get to 66 months that you will not use those extra slots given to you?
I think the vet rewards are, overall awesome and a great QoL (mission transporter, Assemble the team) element of this game. Getting Sands of Mu and the frickin' Nemesis staff/Blackwand really opens up the solo game for a lot of damage-light builds, and the powers both look sweet. Costume rewards are appreciated and delivered pretty quickly. The 60 month reward is likewise a nice perk that helps the early levels roll more satisfyingly, but the vet biggies to me are Sands and the Nem Staff (pow!). That was a game changer.

Thank you for the correction. Is that from the wedding pack? I tend to buy every theme booster pack made available.
To me, veteran rewards are like everything else in this game that drops in my lap. Some of it is quite useful, even valuable; some of it isn't so useful but it's still kinda cool; and some of it is something that I'm sure someone else would like or use even if I probably won't (like those Greek alphabet costume additions).
Combined with all the other free goodies handed out now and then, I'll take what I'm given.
