In-game Spam?
I haven't bothered with the new options. Overall spam rates seem lower (less waxy yellow build up from day to day).
My scrapper doesn't need an AoE. She IS an AoE.
Honestly, I never saw enough to justify complaining about it. Thats just me though.
Mine has been way down, even on my characters that haven't turned off e-mail.

the new options are super.since i've turned off the email on all my toons i've not seen one rmt spam. im hopeful that i'll never see another one.too bad it was 5 yrs late in getting here.
Not one spam since thank you devs.
And I want to give an evil eye to all who were against this, you know who you are.
To answer the core question, no, since I set my new e-mails settings I haven't seen any innovative new non-mail spamming techniques. I do often see "You have 15 new e-mails" (with none actually coming through) when I log in so I guess the spammers are still relying on that.
Does anyone know if a sender gets notified if the recipient isn't accepting their emails?
total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
I'm not sure if any of these are "new" or not - but the second I turn on "Friends/SG only" and open email... they're gone.
(And I'm appreciating it even more while playing Aion. Email spam there -t hough it costs them in-game currency - is actually not an issue. Having to take the first several minutes of a play session to block the *now graphically enhanced* spam scrolling by General, Find Group, and class chats... oy.)
Edit: As far as "always finding a way," I've heard thirdhand about some standing in WW and the like spamming local. Haven't seen it myself.
Cap, you did report them, I hope?
Email is completely disabled for me. The only time I've seen spam since that feature was added was when I logged into a character I hadn't done so with since the change. Opened up options, loaded saved values, email button went away.

My only "against" was against "removing the system entirely."
Haven't seen it at all on toons who have it disabled. The ones who still do the rate definitely seems down. I honestly thing it was a great idea, my SG moved to using our forum PM system instead ages ago.
I haven't noticed any difference. I still seem to get about a dozen per week, across several toons. I have not bothered with any of the new settings.

I would be curious to know over time if this makes a difference. After all, new characters are still going to have email on, new accounts are, etc. I think it needs to be a loading tip, among other things. ("Getting email spam? Go into options and set email to "Friends and Supergroup Only Enabled" - or turn it off completely!")

I've made no changes in my e-mail settings and I've still noticed an appreciable drop in the number of spam e-mails I've been getting. It may be too early to really make a judgement, though, as Memphis Bill points out.

Same here, I haven't turned off e-mail on any of my characters across two accounts, but the incidence of RMT spam seems to have subsided to a great degree as far as my observations go.
Honestly, I think it's great that the disable e-mail option was given to players (more options for more folks is always better), but personally I never minded the 2-10 seconds it takes to click the "Spam" button a few times. Sometimes I even get a chuckle out of some of the oddball names they choose for their "fake" toons.

Having just returned to the game, some of my characters had over 200 spam emails that had accumulated in my 6 month absence. I was very thankful for the new filter options to be able to easily clear their mail without clicking spam 200 times.
I think with the way it works, spammers don't realize that we're not recieveing their messages anymore. For example, when I logged onto my Crab Spider the other night, it said I had 1 unread email, but when I opened up the (non-red) Email button, nothing was there. So I think the new system doesn't block email, but rather auto-deletes email not from your friends or SG members. Which is fine by me of course
Surprisingly for me, on an avatar that I hadn't converted the options on, I only had 2 spam emails after about 24 days offline time.
A much better improvement from the 50-60 that I was averging pre-I16 changes for characters offline on average of 5 to 6 days.
Even with the "No Mail" option enabled, I am still receiving spam. Spam on all characters, with e-mail or not. Less than before, which is nice.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
i had noticed a big increase before i16 due to people going and making their own "stores". i think that diminished after i16 release and has only gotten better with the new email settings.

I guess it depends on if they were seen by a spammer and put on a list or not.
Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.
Since the new email options were put in place, is your spam gone? Someone here said, "spammers always find a way." Well?
