When and where did the devs say this?

Okay so an acquaintance in global chat said that in an upcoming patch, when the number of enemies on a map gets less than 10%, the remaining enemies will show up on the minimap, to make Defeat All's easier. They also said glowies would show up on the map.

Now I know players have talked about this for a long time, but I don't recall hearing this from a dev. Is this confirmed, or wishful thinking?

Wishful thinking as far as announced changes goes.

For my part, I've never seen anything like this mentioned by a dev or even commented on by players.

I love the idea of it, but never heard of it before now.

The person said it was in a dev chat in I16 beta, but as they say, pics or it didn't happen (or a red name post o.o).

Pohsyb mentioned this at PAX to some folks. I'm not sure if this is an I16 thing, or something being added for Going Rogue, but it is real.

Definitely wasn't in closed beta. Combing through the Dev Digest, there's nothing related to it at all.

We'll always have Paragon.

I'm pretty sure if it was an I16 thing we'd have noticed it by now

A-mazing... I've ALWAYS hated that search for the last few stragglers on defeat-alls... this is awesome.

that right there = EPIC win!

that takes away any real reason for me to not like defeat alls.. The biggest pain about them was finding that last straggler or two. Sweet.

True. Will look for the post unless someone has already found it.

They make me weirdly nostalgic, especially if they're in a box-cluttered warehouse. Not nostalgic in a good way, but just in the sense that they bring on memories of something else that was infuriating in the same way. Anybody else remember terror missions in the original X-COM? Hey kids! It's time to play Where's The Last Sectoid?

Same here. Searching for a cleverly concealed enemy or glowy on a large map can be very frustrating. Showing the stragglers on the map would be extremely nice.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing this.

Aw, man, leave it to a stinkin' redname to show up and piss all over our "wishful thinking" parade! <shakes fist>

But I showed them, and nobody's laughing at me now!

So true.

I never minded mowing down everything I could see....but I greatly resented all that time wasted pouring over a "clear" map to find the one enemy that fell into a crack.

I hated playing that game with the last Sectoid.

It was worse when the Xenomorph Expy was the last thing hiding in that warehouse.

SKREEE!!

ZOMG!!!

....The commander is zombied! RUN!!!

And that's when I lose half my squad.

I've enjoyed virtually everything done to this game on some level (save for Day Jobs... blech!)...

And this, I have to say, is the best QOL feature that has ever been or will likely ever be added to the game.

Enemies on the minimap FTW!

This I love to kill if I can see it but...I always hated going around trying to find all. It always seem like it would take forever to find the last guy. Great work Devs.

This will indeed be cool, but I'm saving my "best QoL feature of all time" kudos for when they implement a "team looking for more" function.

Oh, and for those of you curious how news of the "enemies/glowies on the minimap" enhancement found its way into the forums, I believe Mandu was the first to post it, in the PAX discussion thread.

Oh, ye gods, Chryssalids. There was one very satisfying moment when I managed to lure one into a gas station (I had one squaddie who had a ridiculous number of TUs, such that he could actually outrun the damn things) and then blow the whole thing up, but apart from that, fear and loathing. Which was kind of the idea, I admit, but still.
