When and where did the devs say this?

Thank you! I don't necessarily care if this comes out in an i16.5, i17 (one key difference = typo), or GR. I'm just glad its coming!

Ooh, I hope not Plasma Win. It burns exposed skin.

This is a great change, but I still dislike kill all missions.

Oddly, I'm cool with "Defeat 30 -insertmobname-", but defeat-alls within a mission map make me want to log off. I think it's the maze thing they got going on with alot of mission maps.

CoHRadar is no more against the EULA than CoH Splasher, HeroStats, Vidiotmaps, etc.

I'm imagining this being bugged initially, and *ALL* enemies show on the map right from beginning. The mini map for some missions would just be a seething mass of symbols.

And again, CoHRadar is no more against the rules than Vidiotmaps.

I think having a program that can show you where to drop a AOE to hit a stealth player is more of a cheat then knowing where the badge marker is.

I made the original Blinkie Finder that COHRadar is based on, and I'm personally glad I won't need to use it anymore. Tabbing in and out of the game to try to locate the last few mobs was rather annoying; I very much prefer to have that information in the in-game map.

Neither Blinkie Finder nor COH Radar are worth squat for the purpose you're claiming. You have to record the demo, exit the game, parse the demo, then go back in. In a PVP match, your opponent has noticed you unmoving for several seconds and completely murdered you; or at the very least, changed his location.

Near the end of a defeat-all when the game cycles through the remaining NPCs to add their positions to the map ... maybe it could also issue a "/stuck" command to each NPC, just in case they are wedged into the map?

I think Steiner was looking into making CoHRadar more real-time, but because of the way demorecording works, no matter what he does it would be useless for PvP, and not particularly useful for patrol spawns.

No idea if he'll get the changes he wants, or is even able to make them, but yeah, it's hardly what No Pants thinks it is.

This should be in the game.

It shouldn't be a Vet Reward, though.

Doubt it; it's more likely he meant i16 as in "before i17's release, after i16's release"

Either way, he's right. X-Com's entire series is available on Steam. The odd thing is that the game hasn't been recoded, modified or anything to make it work on Windows XP/Vista; it comes with a custom-setting DOSBox.

All the old save game editors still work with it too. Granted, I don't cheat too much, just some extra money to get me started and making my Rookie soldiers a little more skilled. Not superhuman, just enough they survive more than one mission

What I hated was getting alien grenaded just as I was deploying. Half the group gone on turn 3. Then, of course, Oscar goes berserk and kills the other half.

Yet, I could still manage to pull off a "successful" mission, half the time, with my lone rookie that survived the alien grenade and Oscar. Granted, that lone rookie usually turns out to be Oscar.

Oh that's not as bad as the typical mission in my old X-Com Terror from the Deep.

Player Turn one: Open sub door. Get Alien Sonic Grenade thrown at me thanks to Opportunity Fire.

Enemy Turn One: Grenade goes off, killing my entire crew.

The End.
