I did have that happen once to me. Fortunately, I ran one guy really far away from the sub, so he survived the Subbing. Then he got shot. poor *******.

Its usually times that like that prompt me to turn the game off and do something else.

There I was between a rock and a hard place. Then I thought, "What am I doing on this side of the rock?"

I'd totally pay $5.00 to get it on Steam if that was fixed.
I don't think it was fixed. It may have though.

I do think there were some fan-made patches for it. I'd have to search for it again though, because I can't be sure anymore. If there was one and it's still floating around the net that'd fix it just fine; the Steam system doesn't check the game to see if it's different, it just runs the built-in DOSBox.

Either way, it's still worth it, it's hard to get the old game installed right from the old CD, and that's assuming you still have it. At $5 per game, that's a quick $10 for the two best games of the series, or if you're a die hard fan like me, get the entire series, from X-Com: UFO Defense to the fair SpaceSim Interceptor to the questionable-but-still-fair-grade-mindless-fun of Enforcer for $15 total. Considering the entire series would be $25 separately, it's a good deal.

That's why I got myself a save game editor or three; my Rookie/Seamen were suddenly more capable and able to run around with a gun in their hands a bit more than a few feet.

It made sense to me, afterall, these were supposed to be the best soldiers the world could provide, but they had the physical stamina of an overweight gamer and the aiming skills of a blind man!
