Example: Weatherman/woman redside; I believe the only Outcasts redside are in one specific low-level mission, and there's only a handful of spawns of Outcasts in the mission, too (IIRC, the rest are Longbow). Normally while working on the badge, a full team of high-level characters (or at least, high enough to one-shot the Outcast bosses), skip past the other spawns and just kill the enemies that give badge credit. With this system, the only reasonable way to ignore the other spawns, as far as I can see, is for the mission owner to hold it in their mission queue for many levels. If people drop the team to fight at their natural level, the team won't share the badge credit. On a badge like that, not sharing the credit would be very painful.
Maybe they could make a little outside area where a few Outcasts hang out?
The Outcasts shouldn't be treated as outcasts all the time

Um, the market is cross-server. You're probably thinking of cross-sides (heroes and villains combined).

Markets are already cross server. Unless you mean cross faction.

I dont see the point in leveling fast. Nothing is gained from having more 50s i hardly play my 50s and 2 of them i never play quiet pointless. end game content is shocking. farming for inf and drops is boring. Playing the game as it was meant to be played (originally) is surely the most fun. i do love running other ppls MA arcs (know of any truely hard ones with original storylines (i prefer comic/how i got my superpowers stories) pm me and i'll do them usually solo) as i have done almost every arc in the game (still aint killed 200 toxics villain side) thats whats fun. farming for inf when its so easily gained anyway (2 purpled 50 and 100,000,000 saved with zero farming) is illogical surely

wow lots of ()()()()()()()

This game is too easy as it is. Juggling teams gave it some illusion of difficulty. Making a good team was something of a skill. And now it won't matter.

Again, I hope I'm wrong. And I'll just wait and see how it turns out. I love this game, but I feel like they are changing the whole mechanic of the game.
Just going to comment on this real quick...

How much should levels matter? I mean really, I know they're a standard MMO convention, but they've always seemed a bit alien for the super hero genre. If anything a group of heroes (or villains) banding together regardless of their level feels more "comic booky" to me. Is a real hero going to stare woefully at his or her ID card and say "I would love to help fight off that alien invasion but I don't have security clearance"?

I know that some things need to stay gated by level due to game mechanics and other reasons, but honestly I love the new flexibility this system is giving us. I know this is highly subjective, but it feels more "heroic" to be playing with my friends than to be wishing I were high enough to enter RWZ. Plus levels still get you more powers and better enhancements, so levels aren't going away anytime soon.

Of course. Cross-sides is what I meant.

I just thought of something - ITFs will still be 10+, because Montague Castanella won't give you the Midnighter entry arc until you're 10.

All this is nice and stuff, but i'm happy i'm getting ATLAS back. I can go back to sitting on my 50's and just chill out in Atlas, talk to newbies, toss some influence or run a CC or just sit and chat without the AE spam. It's like life has be reset to before the AE. Thanks guys.

Lots of cool stuff. Wonder what else they have hidden in their little i16....hmmm

At first i thaught: Despair!

For some reason, I guess I'm just old fasioned like that

But as I read along, my thaughts changed to: y'know, that's not all that bad actually.

So yeah, I like it. Nice work!

Edit: when did they change the smilies? Mr yellow is back by popular demand, eh?

Positron? Has there been any thought to re-balancing rewards for Merits and Recipe Drops on teams versus solo?

I know I find it annoying that you get about 3 to 5 times more recipe drops solo grinding than playing on a good team.

(And just a wish-list for Recipe Drops: Can we get an option to turn off useless 'types' of drops? I'm pretty sure that my scrapper and tank don't need all those mezz and sniper recipes. And it would allow the players tune their drops towards what is more valuable in the market.)

(And maybe actually drive up the value on those 'worthless' drops by making them more rare.)

Still here, even after all this time!

You can get the badge from someone else that has the latin student mission at level 1. I know this because when the mission transporter was first introduced, and people below 35 could enter cimerora, a friend of mine has the badge on a level 3, entered cimerora, and stood next to imperious.

Though I think you still wouldn't be able to do the ITF because I believe it has a minimum 35, like the Lady Grey has minimum 45...

Also, if co-op AE is now allowed at level 1, could you please consider moving the AE building from the RWZ to pocket D? It makes way more sense to have an entertainment facility in an entertainment area rather than in a zone where full scale battles are raging.
You could put it on a separate floating island, like on the opposite side of the dancefloor from the ski slopes, and make a bridge or portal across to it.
I think it'd be a great move to give Pocket D a feature that would encourage more people to go there.

I can second this.

YMMV---IMO

Edit: Strike that. The 50 will have quit the team but stay in the mission, because it's "to the mission owner" when you're in a mission.
Or maybe they can still use the "old system" in such a case?
I'm not clear now... Players will be allowed to Exemp the "old way" through their options, should they so wish... How might that play into this type of scenario?

Still, this is great... And really... there's no harm in just having them quit the team in order to help you blast through the mission... But yeah... can they SK you up and over the mission level to romp through it?
Hmmm...

Super Sidekicking?: Big Smile on face.

Badges being reevaluated in light of new Sidekicking?: Excellent

Bridging being eliminated in new system?: Most Excellent

Satisifaction of being able to SHUTDOWN In-Game Emails: PRICELESS

Normally I don't like doing betas because I'm no good at bugging things and I feel like I'm not helping, but this time I REALLY want in! The power customization is cool, but this stuff is just making me drool.

The question though is what is the minimum level for Levantera's missions? Before by default it would be 35 because you had to be 35 to enter the zone. Now, with no level restriction to enter, can a level 1 access those missions?

I think this is an awesome idea!

Will make smaller teams, say if you are on with two friends and dont have the level spread for you to team together without alting, now you can with your favorite character. One friend needs INF, one is gaining experience, one is just there to help...whammo.

This now makes such a small team possible. This is a long time in coming and i am glad it finally showed up

This might sound trivial but it is something to think about.
My understanding is that the level restrictions from the zone are gone, so you can be an un-sk'd solo lvl 1 toon in RWZ

Don't see them doing this ever. Though I would love it if they did.

If you're auto-Exemp'ed down, and they keep it so you loose powers.... It would be VERY handy if they could add in the UI somewhere what level you took the powers at.

I've got builds that are years old, and I've no idea how I originally built them or what level I took stuff at for sure.

When I exemp down on a few of them, it's always a bit of a surprise what powers I have available and which I don't... heh.

Everything about Positron's post sounds awesome... except for the last paragraph about boosting the XP gains by 20% for Levels 1-20. Seriously, it's easy enough to do the first 20 Levels through normal game play, do you really need to add this boost? Heck, with Patrol XP and all the past changes to the Leveling scale for the higher Levels, it just means we'll be Leveling our heroes/villains so fast we'll hit Security/Threat Level 50 in a matter of days. Then what? Make a few Alts, super speed Level them to 50 too? Then what? Leave the game because you've leved a dozen characters to Level 50 in just three months time and there is nothing left to do?

You would think that the Devs would not want to make Leveling too easy so that the players continue to play the game month after month. This game is a business after all, and it's main source of income is the monthly subscriptions of the players. How is making it so easy to Level through the game a breakneck speeds a good business decision?

Other than that, I all for the new changes coming with Issue 16!
