Sounds great, I am glad that I will be able to team with my friendS, no matter the level we all have.

Yup, but the requirements still exist on the Hamidon zones and the PVP zones.

I'm actually getting ridiculously excited about I16. It seems you guys are in overdrive on smoothing out the niggles and improving game-play.

Top stuff!

Any firm data yet on how this will affect TFs, Posi?

In particular, if I take a level 35 to Cimerora and group him with a team of 50s for Imperious' Taskforce, will he join at 35, 46, or 49?

Other than that, good on ya and the devs. This sounds like a really worthwhile fix!

-- Edit --

Eh, I have no complaints about leveling speed these days. All my characters get two macro buttons upon creation now:

/macro NoXP "optionset noxp 1"

/macro XP "optionset noxp 0"

Besides TFs and since the old exemp feature is still in game, my only real concerns are about how certain characters will perform against different enemies. Cimerorans are fantastically more difficult than any other meleers in the game. Carnies will be brutal against a team that has mostly level 15 mez protection

That's excellent !!!

I agree. Especially without dev digest, I might not have seen this. The temp dev digest at the top of the General Discussion page is a pain to use because you have to wait 15 seconds between each search. I fully support the use of Twitter in supplement to the forums and announcements, but not as a replacement for dev announcements.

How does this affect a player who out-levels their own mission?

issue 16 may well be the best issue ever

I assume one level below the team leader unless everyone is now upped to the TF max automaticaly.

True, but without the Dev Digest, no one can SEE that you posted it.

Doing a search by author would have worked on this post since you started it (if I happened to have a reason to look for your posts specifically coincidentally a short time after you posted), but for other posts it just leads to the start of the thread making it impossible to find you guys when you post halfway through page 22 on some hot topic...

A) I'm excited about the announced changes
B) Whats the ETR on the Dev digest?

Yes but I look at the twitter while I am eating my breakfast, to see all the wonderful things that happened during my blissful sleep period.

Then I come here... <3 it here.

BTW I LOVE THESE CHANGES!
I LOVE THEM. NO NO REALLY I LOVE THEM.

Now if you guy could just keep all the competitions game crap out of our main CoX General section, I would be over all super happy.

I love this.

Wait...so we can get into the RWZ to team with villains in the AE at level 1 now? Or do we have to be sk'd to the required level to get in?

This is awesomeness incarnate. "Mentor Tetris" indeed; the gymnastics needed to get a team together with enough mentors and at the right level for the content we want to do sometimes took 30+ minutes per romp just to get organized. (My SGmates have a lot of alts.)

Being able to bring whoever you want along on whatever you want regardless of level and STILL be able to earn XP... it's the kind of outside the box thinking that separates COH from other MMOs yoked to the traditional grind methods. Excellent.

They outlevel it, just like normal. Super-Sidekicking cares about the level of the mission OWNER, not the level of the mission.

Positron,

I appreciate the fact that you communicated your thought process about bridging in the announcement of this new feature. That means a lot to me. While I personally enjoy bridging (and I never spammed for bridge requests) on occasion, I can accept that it is going a way. That is due, in large part, to you addressing the issue directly, rather than leaving it an unspoken issue which people would then conjecture / gossip about to no end.

As to the other aspects of this (easier teaming), I am all for it!

Positron:

WHen you say "only recieve mail from people on your friends list" does this refer to the *global* friends list, or to the *character* friends list?

There is a massive difference between the two.

With the character friends list, I cannot make a villain character a friend on a hero, or vice versa. This means that if it's limited by the character friends list, I will never be able to get e-mail from a villain on a hero or vice versa.

If it's limited by the global friends list, there is no issue.

Please clarify what you mean by "friends list" since there are two different lists in game.
