Objective: I am having trouble logging in and staying logged in.

Subjective:
1. I find having to go through sets of sub-forums cumbersome.
2. I also happen to dislike having to click on a "Quick reply" button to be able to use the quick reply, it seems to lead to about the same amount of work as just clicking "reply".

I like short replies :P

No

It pretty much is the same thing, as far as outcome. The intent of the Quick Reply box was to allow users to post something it they didn't want or need to go into their full text editor. But having the "click to use" feature enabled more or less takes away the point. Once again: hopefully, the admins will disable that feature when they're making further tweaks to board functionality. *wink, wink, nudge, nudge*

I hate the new forums.

I just discovered the "goto last unseen post" arrow in the Control Panel. It's really NICE that we have the option to either go there, or just to go to any of the pages we choose instead. I hated how on the old forums it would AUTOMATICALLY to to the last post "unseen" because often times it would mark things seen that I haven't seen, just because I'd already been to that forum and closed the window that day.

It's funny, there's a lot of arguing against graphic sigs because of the potential abuse, but as of yet I've not seen any major issues with huge sigs or inappropriate images. I don't see why people can't bite their tongue and wait til it actually happens and then report the user rather than try to deny a feature which allows freedom of expression straight from the word go.

Seen. Reported.

No further comment by me about that action.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

30 second lag between posts = hate.

I type FAST. This is a feature which plagues forums I habit elsewhere, and it is as annoying here as anywhere else.

We have to wait 30 seconds between costume changes. We've hardly ever (I can only think of once or twice) had an issue about posting floods here... Please oh please disable that "feature".

Very constructive feedback. I'm sure the community team has reached many new insights thanks to this enlightening post.

Unfortunately, I can think of several places where it might be abused.

I could see lowering it to 15 seconds. Maybe. Unless that gets abused.

As a side thought, it might be an attempt to avoid some of the accidental double-posts, although there may be mods or something that can handle that instead. Unless, that mod is what's causing this. Something to think about at least.

The new forums are annoying to navigate, using the Back button reloads the last page viewed instead or just taking you back where you were. In the old forums I could read a thread, go back, and click the next thread down. In the new, I have to scroll down every time to find my place, and new posts can change the order.

An option to not reload the page when navigating Backwards would be greatly appreciated.

Images in sigs have got to go. I've disabled signatures, but now any usefull links that may have been in the sig are now gone too. This is a choice we shouldn't have to make.

I'm concerned that my forum password is now forced to be identical to my game login. An option to have separate passwords should be a priority fix.

Instead of disabling Signatures, try disabling Show Images instead. Sure, it means that if Niv or Posi or someone posts a pic in a thread that you won't see the pic initially, but you will have a clickable link so that you can see the picture in a separate window if you want to.

I'm not sure how this is going to work, but I'm going to try to link to a post in another forum where someone explained why they Back button doesn't work here like it did in the UBB forums. It's not just setting an option not to reload the page apparently. Anyway, here is the link. I hope it works since I'm still figuring out vBulletin.

Simply don't like.

Same name/password as game account, dumb unsecure.

Search is a pain in the *** with the guess the blurry letter game before we search.

Where's the "all" messege button? I don't want to wade through page after page when I can have it all on one.

Slow load but after the lag in Freedom atlas Im used to moving at 56k speed.

Nice to see yet another "fix" for a non broken problem.

I don't know about you, but my forum name isn't even CLOSE to being the same as my game account name.

Just because something allows for freedom of expression, that doesn't mean that it's always appropriate or desired for all venues.

Personally, I've seen enough of signature images on other forums to know that I completely and utterly *detest* it, and I've always been happy that the CoH forums have not had them.

Yes, some will use them in tasteful ways (I've already seen a few). Others will not.

Yes, some like them, and want them to stay. I do not. I know this without needing to wait and see what happens (here. I've already seen it elsewhere, and do not like it). It is a fundamental preference that I do not expect everyone to share, but it is also something that is not likely to change anytime soon.

My (very strong) preference would be that signature images are disabled (either completely or by giving us an option to disable the showing of (only) signature images). Others obviously feel differently.

What remains to be seen is what (if anything) the community team decide to do about it. Strangely I'm hoping they'll see it my way.

Your display name might not be (a feature that I really appreciate both for the old and new forums), but your login name on the other hand....

True, but who in their right minds would make their login name the same as their display name?

That's not the problem. It's that the username and password are transmitted over an protocol (http without SSL) that isn't secure. Doesn't matter what the name is, or what your forum name is, for that to be sniffed out with the right tools.

The colour sucks. It's awful. I mean what colour is it anyhow? A sort of teal grey green kind of nothing colour. Hardly blue heroic and hardly red villainous. It's a nothing colour that has non-descript blandness written all over it.
I wouldn't quite call it awful, but it doesn't really do much for me either. Blue seemed to make more sense, but I get how this matches the main site. Same with the gradients.

I'm not sure how I feel about having the forum login = game login/password either.

Yeah...it does seem a little odd. They stand out, but probably a bit too much (red and teal clash a bit, IMO). I'd say swap the buttons.

Mentioned in another thread, but I'd love to see other themes. A Sister Psyche theme, a Ghost Widow theme, a Nemesis theme, a Freak theme, a Carnival theme, a Longbow theme. Ok, maybe not Longbow...nobody likes Longbow.

Suggestions:
Super Packs Done Right
Influence Sink: IO Level Mod/Recrafting
Random Merit Rolls: Scale cost by Toon Level

Doesn't matter. The point is that you're using the same login/password as your game account.
(and sending it over an unsecure connection)
