Sure. Thats not the problem. Farming is just something that will persist in games.

It gets bad when the Devs have to rebuild MA missions to 'Stop farming', and one of the cities starting zones is filled with 'LFF PL PLZ!!1' on broadcast. Negative impression for newbies much?

PLd players who have no idea how to play the game, resulting in a need to avoid PuGs, reducing the amount of spontaneous teaming on the server - which a EU server really cant afford.

Edit: If there is one thing that i miss from when i started the game it was that post-35 took a long time. You had no mission difficulty slider, no paper missions and frankly not enough missions to level to 50 if you only did your own. At the time i thought it was horrible, but what it did was increase teaming and ensure that people knew their toon inside out by 50.

This is my only problem with PL. I dont care what other players do until it affects me. Since i like to team and be social, at times i will be relying on another player to not suck.

oh another thing as i said earlier. farming is a part of this game. there are some badges which are easier to get if you "farm" for them. PL tbh is just a branch of this , that annoys more ppl

Just remove inf from MA missions, most ppl use it to farm inf not xp.
People only powerlvl some chars to lvl
50 and once they see they dont have the inf to io them, the farming will stop pretty fast.

Atm Cox is a worse farming game than any chinese mmorpg, and wont keep ppl interested very long.
With all the competition comming soon, Cox will loose many players i suppose.
MA is nice in theory but in reality it destroys the game if it stays as it is... at least for me.

No tf or sf anymore all you hear is looking for farm, its so annoying i had to log of.

Actually, taking the inf away isnt so bad an idea.
I mean, what do you need it for, in MA? Tickets already get you nearly anything you want.
Exp stays, because after all the concept also mentioned a 'Training Sim' and what else would that give you other than exp.
So, does it need inf to run?

Might be the case, but of all mmorpgs i played and i played many, this is by far the game in which is farmed the most atm.

Well I think the MA is great, possibly the greatest thing ever added to the game. There's some brilliant arcs on it and I love making my own and seeing what other people have done with it. Speaking personally, the MA is the only thing that'll keep my CoX sub going once CO comes out.

The farming and PLing thing is a separate issue really, as many players have been finding the quickest and easiest ways to get inf/XP for ages now. It's lame really as it neither activity takes much skill or dedication, and neither deserve any respect as it's just the shortest cut to the biggest rewards.

It seems like a lot of people have forgotten that a pimped-out level 50 is nothing to be proud of in itself, it's the effort and challenge involved in achieving that goal that earns the respect.

A power-levelled 50 kitted out with farmed IOs is a fake IOed 50, IMO. It's certainly not "hardcore".

Team A: Join a team with normalish xp and possibility of a level or 2

Team B: Mega xp with mega levels.

My teams? Full of carnage and random chatter = good fun!

Edit: Just to make my post a bit on topic, i dont mind either. I dont farm loads and i dont powerlevel loads (though i have had a few friends powerlevel me a few levels now and then). I do what i perceive as fun to me, which can be a mixture of things. Whether its getting the most enemies possible on a map and seeing just how long i can survive (push yourself to the limit carnage style! Easier to achieve thanks to MA!), finding new and hidden ways to get inf quick (my record is STILL 1.2 mill earned inf (not drops)in 10 mins with no fills), giving money away and most importantly have a good time you miserable sods!!!!! ( and thats my signal to leave!)

For me, a good team is one who can keep it together when things get wildly out of control. It takes no special skill to keep things easy in CoH, but being in a team that can react to the moment enough to turn a team-wipe situation round into a victory is one of the most special things that can happen in this game. The best fights always end with everyone red-lined, IMO. That's the buzz I'm looking for and XP/inf are completely secondary.

Years ago I had a regular late night team with a guy called Judder Man. We'd put together a PuG and run stupidly over-level missions. They were kamikaze runs really and we'd usually come out of it with more debt than XP, but those two or three victories out of five or more fights made those teams some of the most fun I've ever had in this game. The shared adversity and the banter that went along with it was pure gold. Nowadays I love playing in PuGs with new players, because the fights are almost always exciting.

With a few months experience and a generic uberised build anyone can rinse and repeat. It's a completely trivial exercise, IMO.
