In the video you can see the mission selection screen, and it does seem to give you are fair bit of summary info. Ill try to type what I can read:

Kidnap
by <authorname>
##############
Length: Long
First published: <date and time>
Morality: Heroic
Mission 1: <title> <level range> <objective types>
Mission 2: <title> <level range> <objective types>
etc...

Enemy Groups: <blah> <blah>
Something illegable: Possibly a plot summery

[/ QUOTE ]
Beneath by <Authorname> there's a line I can't make out and another stating Arc ID: <integer>.

On the individual mission lines the 1st part is a map size description, not a title - e.g. the ones on screen say things like 'small size map', 'medium size map' or 'large size map'.

The something illegible appears to be the word Description - so it does look like an author written description for the arc.

The 2nd arc on the same screen seems to have a Length of Very Short - I'd guess that this may just be a description based upon number of missions (possibly including number of mission objectives).

Hopefully we can have multiple custom Elite Bosses in a mission, have them spawn doing a set emote (kneeling emote) and actually have them do something like we have when we use /e (e.g. Soandso sobs loudly).

Other thing I'm hoping for is that clicking a glowie can spawn multiple ambushes (say four...) but in a timed fashion, ending with a different EB to the one encountered earlier.

Either that or make a 'rescue' NPC an object so it can have dialogue ("is there anyone out there, can you read me?" for example) upon contact and one upon 'rescue' ("reading you loud and clear survivours, I am on my way, ETA 10 minutes") followed by the afformentioned ambushes.

That's a very reasonable amount of time for something of that complexity.

[/ QUOTE ]

It also now makes sense why it took so long to create normal missions. Without a handy tool like MA that would have been a tedious task indeed.

So them having designed a good tool for their own developers while giving us access to almost the same tool is a very smart move.

Re. some of yesterday's posts, a clarification from Posi on MA tickets and how they can be accumulated:

Start quote

Over the weekend I posted:

[ QUOTE ]

When people play your arcs, tickets earned that way go into a pool.

You can then claim tickets out of that pool onto any character.

[/ QUOTE ]

And a few of you said "Please let Merits work the same way".

I don't think a few of you understood me correctly the first time.

>>When other people play your arcs.<<

The idea is that, since creating MA content is account-wide (anything you write can be "published from" any character on your account), that the tickets generated from other people go into a pool. You can then claim tickets out of that pool on any character on your account.

HOWEVER, when you PLAY Mission Architect content, tickets you earn are exactly like Merits. They are earned ON that character, and can not be traded.

Merits already work like this, and there is no correlation to the account-based publishing for Merits to "work the same way" for.

Now if you are simply asking that Merits be a tradable resource, or even trade-within-account, I am sorry, but that's not going to happen. Characters of different levels earn Merits at different rates. Merits are supposed to streamline the reward process for that character, and that's not going to be changing any time soon.

End quote

So it looks like the tickets are both account level (for MA missions you write) and toon level (for MA missions you play).

Posted

I imagine how that will work is that tickets available to the entire account can be (i assume, irreversibly) allocated to a specific character on the account to spend as you wish.

e.g:

Your scrapper has 50 tickets from running MA missions. These are untradeable. Another player plays you arc and your account gets awarded 5 more tickets. You can then allocate the tickets to your characters as you see fit. If your scrapper is the only char you care about for example, you allocate them all to him and now your scrapper has 55 untradeable tickets.

This is how i imagine it works. Tickets will probably be claimed on a particular character in a not too disimilar way to claiming your vet rewards or through the MA terminal.

Good article. But this is just plain wrong :
[ QUOTE ]
City of Heroes missions have always had a random element to them. Each time you play through, the scenario is slightly different.

[/ QUOTE ]

Quite the opposite really, a lot of the time I can tell you exactly where a spawn will appear on a map / tile even if I've never played that specific mish before. It's one of my own personal dislikes about the rigidity of the current map / tile system.

But so far the interface itself seems pretty good from what I've read there. Excellent!

Yep, saw Posi said this last night. It's at least consistant with merits I suppose but I don't like that system of no sharing between alts myself (for everything, I hate all the barriers and jumping through hoops we've to do to share anything ingame between alts)

And with all the new User Created missions will we have a glut of this happening

I can see a problem here......

If players get always rewarded 1 ticket for a MA-mission they run, the more difficult and complex missions wont be run often, cause the time vs reward will suck, even if those missions are prolly the better ones.

Imho there will be 2 kind of often run mission, the pure XP farm missions with tons of mobs and bosses, and the
fast and very easy mission that can be done in minutes for ticket farming.
This could result in stupid uninspired mission to be top rank and not the well designed and lovely missions, players spend weeks to develop them.

Posted

Not really... The majority of people running MA missions are likely to be running them more for story than reward...

The ticket reward you get for completing missions is proportional to the amount of tickets you earned during the mission from what would be drops.

So the larger the mission, the more enemies you defeat during the mission, the more drops you would have got, and the bigger your end of mission ticket bonus.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's not quite how it works according to the audio that was on massively.

There are ticket drops in place of the normal salvage & recipe drops, plus a bonus at the end that depends on how many mobs you kill through the mission, so if you ghost or don't complete you get less rewards than by playing through 'properly'

I'm sure I read somewhere that the amount of ticket rewarded at the end is based on how big the missions are or somesuch. I can't be arsed to search through all the red posts recently though...
