We'll finally get an updated CD

Yay, can add it to my collection of 4 other CoH boxes.

Read the article up on the Escapist and seen some of the fancy screenies and I'm interested now.
Wasn't before but seeing what it can do is very nice.

It's not running away. It's advancing in reverse!

It might even appeal to normal players, RPers and farmers all at the same time

Stuff from the audio transcript on the American thread:

- Can have a guy you need to rescue... and when you get him about out, he can turn on you.

- Objective on map to crack safe, when you do that, an ambush can come in. When you beat up the boss, one of his flunkies could turn to your side, wanting to give you info if you lead him out.

- As you defeat guys, every time you WOULD HAVE gotten an enhancement or something, you get skii ball tickets, you also get a big bonus of tickets (based on what you did in the mission). Ticket vendor inside AE building, with stuff to buy, including enhancements, recipes, salvage (but those are kinda expensive), or you can buy the same random rolls, and those tickets have been balanced vs the normal missions. If you play 1-50 in the MA, your reward should be about the same if you play 1-50 outside the MA.

- Maps you can buy with the tickets that are a bit more unique, costume pieces you can buy that are a bit above and beyond. Unique versions of enemies with different sets of powers (like another version or Lord Recluse with a different set of powers).

- Get tickets when people rate your missions. Tickets are account based (at least the ones from mission ratings).
You can rate once per account (not character).

- Devs could canonize the story arc if it gets really popular and they like it and think it makes sense.

- About a month in a half till i14 release. Open Beta in a few weeks. Shortly after that, new box on the shelf called Architect-something, includes CoV, CoH, code for any booster pack, magic pack coming out at the same time as box, includes up to i14.

wonder if there player costume pieces or costume pieces for use in game or maybe both.

I think that while GMs aren't going to be included, we might be able to use some that are scaled to be EBs, like Adamastor and the Kronos Titan, for example - although I'd assume these would be some fo the rewards for high rated arcs.

Another interesting possibility from the American forums - e-mailing unpublished arcs to friends, or even putting up unpublished arcs as links on SG websites, which might appeal to RP SGs, so they can create their own altenrative universe, just for themselves.

Can I just point out that for those looking for the hour long audio, it's possible to download the mp3 that's streamed on the Massively web page, which is 61Mb.

I'm not sure on the rights and wrongs of sidestepping the streaming, so I'm not going to give the link here, but suffice to say that viewing the page source and doing a quick text search for '.mp3' should reveal all

I think the MA buildings will be in all the normal City zones:

1 - Atlas Park
2 - Galaxy City
3 - Kings Row
4 - Skyway City
5 - Steel Canyon
6 - Talos Island
7 - Founders Falls
8 - Brickstown
9 - Perigrine Island

with possibly Faultline and Pocket D too, so that'd make 11 out of 19, meaning there'd be 8 in the Villain zones - would that be too many or too few over there?

I think that list would be a bit to excessive, Perhaps only 3/4 on each side (Heroes and Villains), This is a new thing, and it would be sort of unrealistic for a ton of buildings to popup, and.. highly expensive too

And malta funding for all those builds? (cant remember if it was malta, ..forgot to be honest), But, that is a lot of moolar wasted :P

Well, I think they're looking at reducing lag as much as possible by spreading the MA users around as many zones as they can - even with 4 Wentworths, there can still be lag in and around them.

I'd like there to be MA systems in bases eventually, it'd give us something to do with the bigger plot sizes.

As it stands right now there's only so many functional rooms you can put in.

Posted

But we need space for garden rooms and water rooms too

But yeah, access to the MA from bases would also help to reduce lag at the MA buildings.

Even with said "Rooms for ROFLS", that's an awful lot of space to use.

More like highlights the lack of awesome Tech room scenery.

You can do way more stuff with Arcane in my opinion.
