Elitism
100% right sir some people have forgotten that a game like this is built by the community and not by them alone.
But that is not to say this game or these boards do not have people that about the game and community. My advice come to the boards listen to the people that care and ignore the people that think they matter. Find your self a good VG or SG and have fun.
Im sure you can tell the people to avoid and the people to listen to.

As an old Speccy user I disagree... QAOP was much better than cursor keys. In fact it would be better than WASD is now, if we needn't to use mouse too.

Elitism is fine and dandy, until you mix it with stubbornness.
Always right vs. actually right = bad times.

It is because of my sense of smell, those both has repulsive odors for my taste. I think this is why most people hate celery, garlic or thyme which i love most in my cookings.

Ack. Celery! My most hated of vegtables. The only good place for celery is in a stock.
(I'm also not fond of thyme. Too perfumed for me. Which is slightly ironic given it is generally the only herb which managed to survive the winter in my little herb patch).

Problem is that the people who care are often put down as whiners by the people that think they matter. As a result, a lot of people just give up on the forums so it's hard to say the forums are representative of the user base.
...despite being a 24-month vet I was recently called an idiot on my new Ninja/Storm Mastermind, the Yellow Gentleman.
And boy, did I ever earn it.
Dropped Snowstorm (or whatever the anchored debuff is) on an Archon in a mob of 20+ nasties... on a 5-man team.
EPIC fail. The fact I did it with a macro by accident is entirely beside the point.
The true noob-ishness, however, was when, after the first wipe, we went back for another shot, I tried to use Gale to keep the two or three stragglers in with the rest.
...full group aggro again. Who knew Gale was so decently ranged?
As far as elitism goes, I get it. There's little as annoying as repeated team wipes and plain stupid playing, particularly if you have little time to play. I was originally a member of the 47 ties as well, and they were a lovely and friendly group. Now I run with the Pride of Paragon, great guys... and it's great, because it's always more fun to play with good players. You achieve more, you wait around less, and you try to match the standard.
Having said that, new players occasionally get the whiplash from people that have repeatedly been annoyed. For many of my friends and me, it irks us greatly when we stand around RP'ing in Local, and some clown comes in and starts dancing or jumping in the middle of the group. C'mon, that's practically griefing. A guy on a trial account did this last night... and while my friends were understandably FULLY fuming, I sent him a friendly tell informing him that such behavior seldom goes down well. He then kept his distance (since he couldn't reply by tell.) All's well that ends well...
*grins* Shortly after that, Healer-Hero himself swung by, but left as soon as he realized we were RP'ing as well. Good man, that one. And no one can call him a noob!

In many topics regarding things players want at least one post states that we as forum members are hardly representative of the player/user base because most people won't even bother coming to the forums(or post in them).

On the rare occasion I give advice to a PuG of new guys, based on tactics that have worked countless times in countless other groups, something inevitably and randomly goes horribly wrong in ways that it never has before. So I usually keep my mouth shut.
Besides, you get much better fights when no-one really knows what they are doing. It's a great feeling when a team somehow claws victory from the jaws of a teamwipe.
