No reformed badge for heroes

I think it'd be better if they removed it from every Hero who already has it - it seems a bit unfair not to.

[/ QUOTE ]

Over my dead body!!! I spent two nights with people confusing me to get that badge, i'm not gonna be happy if they remove it now!!

It's bad enough they are upsetting players by removing the ability to get it, you're suggesting that they annoy more of them as well?

The whole thing is stupid, why compound the error.

Because I think it's a bigger error to allow some people to still have it, but deny it to others.

2 wrongs dont make one right Golden Girl.
If they remove it from every hero that has it (2 badges lost)... they will wrong those of us who has put a lot of time and effort already in it.
I hate the bright idea "lets remove Reformed"... but removing it from people who has it = not good.

It was one of the badges that i really wanted for my main, her being.. Reformed and all that too...

But it's unfair to suddenly make it unavailable - they should remove it totally, or add a proper Hero version for fighting the Longbow in the RWZ missions.

Grandfathering is rather common in MMO's, in WoW for instance with now unobtainable titles, items, old PVP system ranks, certain mounts and pets. As things change, people who already achieved or owned it get to keep it, to show the effort they put into getting it.

Hell, it's common in US law as well.

Removing it I disagree with, but removing it for players who already got it? Vehemently opposed to that.

Yeah, adding insult to injury usually is a good way to deal with things... brainless suggestion.

The proper version already exists and was working fine. It's called Reformed. And it shouldn't have been removed.

Yeah, great suggestion. Make hours, days, weeks, months of hard work go to waste.

As other posters have said, that's just no thought gone into that.

[ QUOTE ]

No, they should either totally leave it in, or totally take it out - not half remove it, and half allow it.

[/ QUOTE ]

They do that in other MMOs, as Birdy said. Why not here?

That's just what you want, GG, not what other people want.

Its still an achivement. Someone did that. Just as someone did the old grind of getting Isolator (100 contaminated).. through RV.
People have different priorities, different goals. Removing their achivements, when in the Reformed issue, the need to be confused and wack longbow was made redundant. Because of Guassians arc...

Yeah, and? I didn't say it wasn't an achievement. I took issue with Phantoms' hideous exaggeration of the effort involved.

I did both the hard way on my badge toon. I logged in a 6:30am every morning before work to catch the flipping contaminated in the train station. I met the person who said they had tried the same at 6:45 never to find him there at a show. I didn't admit it to him at the time :S

That took several months.

Then I joined a team that did reformed in BB. It took us 8 hours on a Saturday and another 3 or 4 on the Sunday. I won't be happy about it's removal seeing as I spent a whole weekend on it. And to be fair it went well beyond being fun into pure mindless grind.

I think they are wrong to take it out.

I may have missed this elsewhere and apologies if I did but it now seems that the Reformed badge is being *cough* 'reformed'...

From Posi:

[ QUOTE ]
...(abbreviated large explanation)... After sitting down with Phil and going over the history of EVERYTHING badge related with this issue, Phil and I decided to go back and reinstate the Reformed badge for Heroes. This will be in Issue 14: Architect, but your credit should still be being counted from now until that releases. Of course, you have no progress bar, and something might have happened elsewhere that I don’t know about, so if you really want to make progress towards the badge, I would wait until Issue 14 is released to do it.

See, now, that's what I love about the devs in this game. They have the guts to man up and admit when they got something wrong.

Might not happen enough, or on things we want them to, but sometimes they do and they get far more respect from me for doing that!

All I can say is, in echo of Coin's post, bravo for making, what in my view is, the right decision.

I just hope this doesn't get people thinking that if you whine loud enough, the Devs will do anything they want.

That's what the WoW Devs do.

Well they added necklines after a lot of whining for them, so there is precedent...

I think this part is even more interesting:

[ QUOTE ]
I discussed with Jack and Poz what to do, and we had a plan back then. We knew it would someday be possible for a villain to turn into a hero or vice versa, so it was decided that the "impossible to get" badges should have titles and descriptions entered that reflected your "going rogue" status.

With me having far less time to read the forums (on both sides of the pond!) being a lot less, when I see a thread start turning into a whine-fest or a [censored] session, I stop reading it. If it keeps up, I might do spot checks again a week or so later, but in general, my days of reading every single post on a given topic are gone. Part of me mourns that; another part is relieved.

You need a forum monkey to read through the post, filter out the chaff and turn the wheat into a delicious digest digestive (or Graham Cracker for you Americans.)

Posi got you chained to the coding console?

Yes, interesting choice of words. Consider he could have said "We thought it would someday be possible for a villain to turn into a hero or vice versa".

Shh, it'll distract them until I14 at least if they believe it's coming.
