This is great. Your different modes are great. It could also be just as simple as merging MA with the arena rules. Let two teams meet in PD and sign up together.
The arc should get different ratings. One for each side.
I guess the missions would be without standard rewards, but might include many new PvP badges. And would be so awesome that XP would be irrelevant.
Instanced PvP missions with a story line = pure win.
That would even/especially drawn in the RPers who finally could beat each other up in a friendly manner and tell/experience a story at the same time! -

I told Posi that I was more interested in story arcs, rather than story in TF/SFs and this was his response:
[ QUOTE ]
We could write Arcs, but with MA out there, we'd rather write TF/SF's
[/ QUOTE ]
That's a tad alarming...
[/ QUOTE ]
Very. The new TFs are good but I have only have time to play the short Ouroborus TF/SF. The new arcs are stellar, but there are too few of them. Taskforces are too restrictive and require too much preparations.

Also, he just said:

Vault has been shelved
[/ QUOTE ]
[/ QUOTE ]
The Vault would have been nice, but I can survive without it. But they should have come clean before and said it outright. -
... [ QUOTE ]
That will be because it has it's OWN thread, started several hours ago.
[/ QUOTE ]
I see. What is the name of that thread? -

I find this tends to happen when a rogue group aproches the speaker. They rattle off their line, but since it wansn't the player who set him off, you don't get the replacement text.

I have just made a test mission where I placed $name into any text field imaginable. All dialog fields is designed to handle the $name but some are more error prone for the reasons above.
Patrol and battles have a high chance of being activated by other opponents than the players and that leads to this behavior.
My test also revealed that you can also put your $name into:
<ul type="square">[*]Mission title [*]Mission subtitle[*]Accept text[*]Navigation text (objectives)[*]Glowie interation bar[*]Popup windows[*]Chat text (Glowies etc.)[/list] -
Larger file sizes would be nice, but I would rather see buyable arc slot like we can buy character slots.
Why buyable? I think that if people pay 5 for the priviledge to publish an extra story, they will put effort into creating a good story. Sure we might get some vanity published arcs but I think we will survive that.
And more money to Paragon Studio hopefully translates into an even better future for CoH. -
Apparently some type of dialog will not use $name at all. I suggest we compile a list of which dialogs can use it so our nice SFMAs do not look silly when $name and $himher pops up all over the place.

I noticed a button called "Complaints" next to one of my published missions. When pressed the following feedback appeared:
[ QUOTE ]
This story has received the following complaints: * very interesting, had fun and was great for someone with very little time.
[/ QUOTE ]
So what is this Complaints function? Is it both positive and negative feedback or was the text also sent to customer care as a complaint of possible offensive content in the mission?
BTW the arc# of the mission with the "complaint" is 1630. -
Be careful when you edit published stories. I recommend that you made small changes and republish frequently.
It seem not check for all the errors it checks for in local edit mode.
I made a lot of changes to a published arc and added too many objectives (8) that one of the mission maps could handled (6). It didn't show any errors before I republished and when I did, it said arc invalid and threw all my changes away. -
You might know Jonathan Coulton the internet based musical genius that wrote the Portal song "Still Alive".
All his songs are published under creative common license so I have taken his song Welcome to my secret lair on Skullcrusher Mountain and made it into a MA mission (Arc Id: 55673). The arc only contains one mission which play out the scene from the song.
The mission briefing has a link to the MP3 file on his site so you can listen to it while you play my mission.
I hope you enjoy this multi media experiment. -
So we can send tells to the US now?
It has all gone to teh americans! -
Where can I find and read any comments I may recieve for my MA missions?
-
Sounds like a good excuse to swing ye olde peg leg.

...you right-click a woman in the bar to bring up her info, and her boyfriend knocks you out for groping her chest.

ROFL Too funnyi can just imagine that actualy happening

Well, to enter Hazard Zones, you have to kinda squeeze the guards until they let you through
[/ QUOTE ]
True. You actually have to click below the belt in order to be let through. Creepy when you think of it. -
Nice find. There is some good mission design advice in that article.

I especially like this part of the conversation:

Thats inhumane Face!
And ... kind of a rip-off
What?
Well you have just taken the original concept we are implementing here and you are basically copying it.
Ohh please! These ideas are just floating around out there.
Its not like anyone owns them.
You should be ashamed!
And yet ... I am not!
[/ QUOTE ]
It makes me wonder which entity should be ashamed for copying a concept which has lingered in the imagination of both CoH players and devs for years.

Speaking of 2nd exits. We could use a second placeable exit object/portal in SG bases.

Currently I use this:
/bind <key> "dialog_yes$$buy_coh"
In my case I use the f12 key, hit that twice and I get dropped back to the login screen.
[/ QUOTE ]
You only need to click the key once if you bind it like this:
/bind <key> "buy_coh$$dialog_yes" -
What a great essay on superheroic names. And remember its never to late to support your local superhero game publisher by purchasing a name change token.

I have secured an accolade for each of my main alts. The accolades were chosen from a RP perspective that suited the characters. I have since added more DJ badges to each but without any enthusiasm.
I can recommend the 7.5% recharge bonus from the Predator badge. -
has just ended. Have anybody found out what triggers them?
