Maestro Payment Options Removed?
you may want to give the change card option a go as stasis has suggested as its the card registered that's used for payments by default or at least it has been in my experience. Any time I've missed a payment due to my card expiring and me not noticing I've just went in changed my card and then activated my account again and its always worked so far.
If you don't have Maestro option in the change card section while others do (myself included as i just went and looked) i would definitely contact support once again and perhaps even point them in the direction of this thread as its clear for some of us at least Maestro is a valid option so there knowledge base is at least partially wrong and i wouldn't be surprised if the knowledge base is first point of call for first tier support.

The correct card is already in there, it doesn't expire until 2011. It only has any effect if your card was declined etc. My sub was cancelled because i cancelled it. In order to restart my sub I can't use a Maestro card. Its simple really but some of you don't seem to grasp what I'm telling you.

Nobody called you a moron and last I checked Stasis was trying to help. Chill.
Also, you can probably find game time cards in online stores. So you won't have to go rummaging around on the high street for one. I realise you said you can't be fussed with that - but buying online does take a lot of the hassle off.
Edit:Found on Amazon.

I have been subsribing to this game in the same way since it came out of Beta in Europe. Why should I have to go hunting for other ways to pay in order to continue playing it? Shouldn't people who want to take your money from you make it simple? It's just another example of the terrible customer service that we get and seem to put up with. Its no biggie to me, I've signed up for a different MMO. I just find it disappointing that this sort of change is made without any information being given in advance, and someone who is supposed to be a community liaison (Ghost Raptor) has actually visited this thread but not commented. That and the fact that support stuck a metaphorical two fingers up to me have convinced me that COH don't seem to want subscribers. Luckily its a very competitive market so I can just choose other games to spend my money on.

Yes because a 2 second search on Amazon is such a hassle, wow... such a terrible world we live in. If you wanted to play the game you'd find a way around it - like I did in 2 seconds, but evidently you don't even want to so it doesn't matter.
Show me a single shred of evidence that it's not being looked into. Also - you looked at the time? GR needs to sleep as well you know. It could well be on his to-do list tomorrow to try and sort out.
As a side note - I had a problem using my Solo card on a secondary account recently with the option not showing - a quick message to Customer Support got them to fix the problem with the account.

The problem of course being that you were using a "do not trust this person" Solo card. I hope that customer support were able to direct you to a nice bank account using Visa. Not Visa Electron though, of course.

The only account for CoH that I have unsubbed is the US one. That doesn't allow Maestro payments, but it may be because it's the US one.
[/ QUOTE ]
You are correct: The US subs have never accepted Maestro.
Just to clarify things (I ask that a lot, but I'm finicky) with the OP:
You have a Maestro Card that you have previously used to pay for the game and the card is still current.
Your CoX subscription has lapsed.
You wish to resubscribe.
On the 'Reactivate Account' page there is no option to either use existing card details nor add a Maestro card.
The 'Change Card' page does not allow reactivation of accounts, despite being able to accept Maestro cards.
Am I correct? If all of the above is true, then it sounds to me like there is an error on the Reactivate page, because we know for a fact that they CAN take Maestro payments - indeed they DO currently debit my account on a quarterly basis, using my Maestro card details.
While it would be nice if GR came back to us with a comment to the effect that either NC have stopped accepting Maestro or that there is an error on the page, we DO have to bear in mind that 1) He needs to find out first and 2) He is in Northern California right now so that's not necessarily EASY.

Just a quick question. Is Solo an option for you. I seem to remember something baout the two companies merging or something.. probably wrong but it might be worth a go.
You're not wrong, Mr M. Solo and Switch were (before Switch merged with Maestro) the same payment scheme, with Solo being a 'lite' version of the Switch card. In theory, anywhere that takes Solo should be able to accept Maestro because they are basically the same payment type.

Maestro/Switch only checks the payment server to find out if you have funds available if the amount requested is over a certain amount. that amount is generally set by the retailer, eg Co-op in leeds used to have this set to £50, thus buying goods for under £50 would get cleared whereas over £50 and the card would be declined.
Solo however ignored the trader limit and requested authorisation regardless of that limit, in the above case it would check even if the sale was for £1.99...
As a note I tested the above system quite a bit with my old bank, it was useful to be able to buy food shortly before payday.
I understand that visa electron is similar in relation to the visa debit cards, though I haven't tested this so can't confirm.
And the official Word is

Dear Mark,
Thanks for your interest in our games.
The payment method "Switch/Maestro" is no longer available in PlayNC. Nevertheless, you can use the following means of payment:
o Visa
o MasterCard
o American Express
o Solo
o Paysafecard (see: http://www.paysafecard.com/uk/contact/)
o Paypal (see: http://www.paypal.co.uk/uk)
Thanks for your understanding.

Seems a very strange decision to make. Maestro is one of the most popular debit cards in the UK. I cans ee this causing a lot fo problems. Some people won't be bothered with the hassle of ordering a timecard and waiting for it to arrive when they SHOULD be able to use their card directly.
Some justification for this would be nice!

This is, indeed, rather disturbing. I do not particularly want to pay for tis game with my credit card yet if maestro is removed as an opton I am forced to!
Can't say I can understand the reasonings behind this decision as, as far as I can see, it makes the game harder to pay for!

Maestro is generally not a recognised card by most online shops these days. Also I'm guessing that their discontinueing Maestro might have to do with the Switch merger, some cards in the UK use Switch technology and are called Maestro, this has resulted in a lot of confusion and problems with International Maestro cards not being accepted in the UK. It's a banking mess that comes from not having a good standardised system and totaly understandable that NC might block their use.
PS: Incase people missed it, NC was weird that it accepted Maestro in the first place.

Every shop and online store that I've come across in my online life (which started out when AOL charged per hour) has taken Switch and then maestro. As I said, it's BY FAR the most common type of debit card available to UK bank account holders. Any online retailer worth it's salt will take maestro and I'm sure if you check on just about any online retailer, be that B&Q, Amazon, play.com, Scan.co.uk ebuyer.com or even some of the smaller ones they'll ALL take maestro.

Visa's actually more popular than Maestro, Maestro was just targetted at the younger generation.
