Maestro Payment Options Removed?

The Securecode process means every time there's an online purchase you'll be asked for this securecode. That means maestro can't be used for recurring billing subscriptions.

instead of selling the time cards themselves - why cant ncsoft sell just the codes?
That way - you don't have to wait for the card to be posted AND as an added advantage its a lot greener solution, no packaging at all.
or if not something like this a the USA got NCsoft Game Cards and Game Time Cards offer two great ways to play NCsoft games without a credit card They are available throughout the U.S ATM but could we get something ike that if we apply to here or on the Play Nc account and get it shiped to us

GR would NCSoft be able to implement a system similar to what Sega use that allows people with Maestro cards to purchase 30/60 days using the billing system? The area I currently live in means I'd have to travel 40 miles to the nearest GAME company to buy game cards as the Gamestation 5 miles away no longer supplies them. Paypal for me is also not an option because I don't trust Paypal with any of my transactions.
While indeed Amazon and Play.com do sell time cards being able to purchase them directly saves more time than waiting for the cards to arrive in the post and means we can activate accounts quicker than having to wait for time cards to be delivered.

That text is out of date. Now, if you're not a participating merchant then you can't process Maestro online. I personally think the best thing that NCSoft can put in place first is. Login to PlayNC, click renew my subscription, put in card details, go through 3DSecure if required, account is updated. This is where the effort needs to be spent and I see no reason it couldn't be knocked out very quickly, from my own experiences of writing very similar systems. As people have said, a more trusted, people already give you card details, and greener solution all round and has the benefit of still having Maestro available if not recurring.
Say_Ten, I just quoted their site as of today, so it seems MasterCard's own site is out of date!

Personel i wouldn't mind IF adsa or tesco could do this but it might be a more likely thing that paypoint would do it
SO the queston is Could we GET a prepaid card over on the EUROPE NCSOFT Games, i mean this could slove alot of promblems
I'm lucky here I use a visa electron (under the visa option) to pay for my game time. However to make playing EVE cheaper I bought time codes online from the US. The site I used was shattered crystal. Now I did check when I first read this thread and they don't have any EU time cards for CoH. 
However I emailed them a link to this thread and explained the issues that some people where having and the chap who replied said he would pass the idea onto the management.
I don't know if this will pan out, I don't expect everyone to use it if it does. But it might be an idea. If it does work you buy the code from them and they then email the code to you so you don't have to wait for a physical card to arrive. As I said I bought EVE GTCs from them and over several dozen purchases I never had any issues.
FFM and others asking about time cards or one-off payments of subs time: these are definitely options under discussion (amongst a range of options we're always looking at), however implementation isn't as simple as just making them available on the site and there's no guarantees that we'll be able to offer them.
I can only reiterate that I'll let you all know any new information as I get it.

[/ QUOTE ]So am i, i had death_badger promblem but he could get the message out before me, so i tried list site that sell time card and a site that help people if they was a prepaid debit card that isn't a Maestro. but to me one line sentence don't help out anyone, and also it seem only post count or personel attack seem to be the only way you get noticed on these forums now days but that a different story

This gets even better. At the moment my payments are going through fine, and I have a solo card.
However, apparently a solo card classes as a maestro card when it gets debited.
So does this mean that once they all stop, both Maestro and Solo cardholders are going to be left without a sub?
As I said, all is well and a payment has just gone through, but it is worrying as I love this game and want to carry on.

As far as I am aware, Solo and Maestro are not related. Maestro and Switch are (Switch is now a part of Maestro). Solo is still a valid payment option for subscriptions and I've not been told of any plans to remove it.

Have you bought anything through PlayNC recently (last day or two)? There's a maximum number of purchases that can be made in a specified time period as an anti-fraud measure. This is mostly to protect customers who have their cards stolen.
If the message is still coming up in a few days, please send a ticket to our billing support team via the Ask a Question tab in the PlayNC support Knowledge Base.
I have sent one today, I think it might have been because I did 5 new slots and then went to transfer a charactor, hope it gets sorted soon.
Y'know, I understand the need to protect people from fraud, but I've always thought that reasoning a little suspect. I mean, if someone nicks your credit card, they're HARDLY going to log on to the PlayNC website, log on to an account who's name and password they don't know, and buy some stuff for a game they don't know how to play, or have access to, are they?
No, they're gonna be down Virgin Megastore buying PS3's and the like.

You sure it's not a message from the card provider? Sometimes they can get strophy if you've gone over the card's daily limit, paid a large bill or two, or the Tengu the Bat Spirit has indigestion.

What if a CoH user steals someone else's credit/debit card? That is why it is there.

Was just a bit worrying as they show as Maestro on my statements, despite being Solo.
Its good to know there shouldnt be any problems
