No. They will, however, be providing me with inspiration and feedback, and I'll be spending enough time on trains and in expensively grim Travel Taverns away from them (and Paragon) where I can catch up.

And there's always a book by your bedside to nick ideas out of. Dan Brown, I'm looking at you!

*ponders employing a squad of ninjas to drop Iain Banks novels into Dan Brown's room just to hack off all the math-obsessive fanbois - read something with a PLOTLINE, damn you!*

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

Dan Brown uses Plot By Numbers. The thought of originality has never occured to him.

Did you read that in one of his books?

As a matter of fact, I've read all his books, and I think I've uncovered a conspiracy, which although stretches back centuries and is ridiculously overcomplicated, I'll explain it in book-form, using small, easy to read chapters, where the protagonist will invariably smack his, or her, forehead and shout "It's so SIMPLE! How did I miss it?!" over and over, at least once every alternating chapter. My only challenge is, do I create a male lead, who will, of course, be studious and proud, or a female main character who will be described at least once as "Einstein's IQ in a fitness models' body". It makes no difference, whichever I choose, the last chapter will end on the lead having sex with their opposite number.

In other words, Laurell K. Hamilton's work is a refreshing read compared to Dan Brown's.

In other words, Laurell K. Hamilton's work, IKEA assembly instructions, in Swedish AND badly written, purple prose flooded fanfiction which is all written in the present tense and created by somebody who doesn't understand the basics of grammatical rules - but is still egotistical enough to not care, or too stupid to grasp them, is (or rather, are) a refreshing read compared to Dan Brown's.

I'd rather read Anne Rice than Dan Brown.

*shudder*
I feel all dirty and tainted now...

[/ QUOTE ]

If it makes you feel any better, Big Z, I've never been able to finish an Anne Rice book. No matter how hard I try, I just can't eat a whole one.

Just a little tool for all you writers, I use it for novels and even for scripting comics!

I start from ablank page, put music one that get's my blood pumping and then the inspiration circles my brain makeing my type so much that when I come to my sensse I realise I had just been doing it for 5 hours and I'm late for something important. lol.

You don't need to change your way of writing, it just makes it à little bit easier to structure your work and keep a steady line in your work.

And after all, why bother as long as you are happy with your way of writing!

There have been some guys arround, who have never known a typewriter or computer and have done extremly good writing, e.g. Charles Dickens, William Shakespeare .....

Anyone here like DAvid Gemmel? I know he'd dead now but t ome he isn't. a Writer lives on in his work. So technically I got a peice of him with me...oh wait that sounds so...morbid.

Which probably explains why, between the two of them, they've added over 1,000 words to the English language.

No computer = no spellchecker.

Although my idea isn't COH/COV related, I'll still be popping a link to it on here once it's done.

Facts in my favour actually being able to do this:

1. Work is quiet right now. I'm supposed to be testing defects in a system that is already deployed. I think we all know how optional fixing bugs are once something has been launched.

2. I've had this idea for years now - I'd written a short story version of it, but now I feel it's time to add more cliches into the mix. Note to self: Devil Worshippers may have been fun once, but turning them into Telvarian Mine Inspectors does nothing to level their impact.

3. I've just got a handy new keyboard ( Linky ) which I now find really comfortable to type on.

So I think I'm ready - like Dreamweaver, I have the coffee on standby and unlike Stasis, too much chocolate will kill me.

Ready to start. Wish November would role around.

lol...you know I always felt strange because in a school full of Chavs (the bad kind of teenages hanging outside nearby offlicence's) I was the only one who actualy understood what Macbeth said in the play when watching both the traditional and remade one. Everyone else couldn't speak normal english let alone understand the old way of the english language...OMG I said Macbeth!! *Goes outside, spits on the floor. Curses loudly. spins around in a circle 3 time before reentering the room adn sitting back down at the comp* I'm too supersticiouse sometimes.

I quite like it as well, but then it's got lots of extraneous buttons.
