Quote:very good point. I think you're right about it being done in the way of a SF or TF which would be very useful and I have heard some talk about something "end game" and about ways of making level 50s so much more powerful. The problem of balance arise here in a nasty way.
The game is balanced around every character having EXACTLY 67 enhancement slots at level 50. No more, no less.
If one character has 67 slots, they cannot 6 slot every power they have, it's just not possible. That means you have to choose where you want your slots. A character that CAN 6 slot every power they have would be significantly more powerful than one who cannot. Even the most tweaked out, expensive build possible has to work with the same limitations on slots as a basic SO build. An enhancement slot recipe would be exceptionally rare, and only obtainable by the extremely lucky or obscenely rich.
If the devs WERE to give us more slots, it would not be in the form of a recipe. That just wouldn't be fair to those players that never have one drop and can't afford the outrageous prices such a recipe would command.
The only fair way to grant more slots would be by running a trial or something that ANYONE can do. That way it is not based on luck or the amount of cash you can throw around.
Definantly a SF or TF that's pretty difficult would be fun. I've done the 5th column on hero side, but not villain side yet. I've heard villain side is meant to be so much harder. -
Just found out that people have said in game that epic ATs have the problem of not enough enhancement slots as well. I would like to see if this was really possible to add more slots to your character power pools.
-
The suggestion was actually adding more slots to powers who have less than 6. I personally have a lot of level 50 IO sets which are very decent like, Touch of the Nictus.
The enhancement thing would make the powers much more effective and make level 50s more powerful and special. -
I've heard a lot about people speculating on how they're meant to make level 50s more powerful and I was looking at the enhancements on my powers and I had to wonder:
"There are so many debuffs that would be absolutely disgusting, but only if I had extra enhancements to do that." and then it hit me. What if it was possible for there to be some kind of recipe for makeing extra slots? I don't know anything about making video games nor anything about the game code so I don't know if it would be a immpossibility or something and it might be difficult to keep the slots when doing a respec, but this would be a useful way to make level 50s more powerful, especially if they were restricted to level 50 dops only.
By the way, my character I was looking at the powers is my main which is a Dark/Dark Corrupter so many of his powers would be amazing if I could slot them with special IO recipes.
Any thoughts on the idea? Do you think it's doable or is it just a dream that won't ever come true? -
Quote:Wow, that I have to playI made a group called 80s.
It has knockoffs (with knockoff names) of:
The A-Team
Robert Palmer and the "Simply Irresistable" girls
Madonna and some S&M male toy boys
Michael Jackson, girlfriend and zombies
Cobra soldiers, Cobra Commander, and Destro
Smurfs
lol, death by Snoo-Snoo. Futurama I take it? Damn these arcs sound so fun why aren't they at the top! Played a few of the so called "Dev Choices" and they're not that impressive apart from LOLBAT, but that's just because I like the pvp web comic. -
I made a group called "Terrible Vampires" who emulate what the world is starting to percieve vampires which are whiney little emo vamps.
I think it's obvious I hate Twilight but yeah I had fun writing in their descriptions how they're always depressed and praise their leaders, one of which is called "Mary Sue" and another "Edmond" . Made them all wear trench coats and they were pretty decent looking and had fun sterotypical dark powers apart from Mary Sue who was Sonic since she screams alot. -
wow. I wanted to find a way to use "lead to place" on a character so that he has to do something for the players, but if this comes out then that'll be able to do what I'd want.
More Unique maps and GMs being on outside maps will certainly make some missions a total xp farm. -
I dont' believe it would be that much harder. It would still work but it might take up more space than normal, yes.
-
I was wondering where you went mother. I returned to the game but didn't see you on the union chat channel or the badge hunters. It was sad not to have anyone there to emember be, but it was awesome and it was a bit for fun for the PVP against my villain, though did feel bad about taking you out. Felt almost like I cheated but still, you've been like a mother to us all and you are sourly missed. I hope to see you when we're going rogue.

I might be in a minority here, but I don't like the idea of the epic ATs being available when you simply get to level 20 as opposed to the cap 50. To me it makes things a little too easy and cheapens epic ATs a bit.
-
yeah I just logged in, tried to get in contact to find something out (not saying due to possible NDA rule breaking) but no one seemed to reply. Ghost town everywhere.
-
I don't care about ultra mode, what's more important is the whole alignment thing with Vigilanties and villains turning good. I can't wait to get my villain on the good track.
-
Quote:nice, just bought it, even though I was probably eligable anyway.

-
ohhh the prepurchase will be starting in march, I thought it had started already since it's March the 2nd
-
in the bio of my main, he regains memories and ends up helping the heroes in what I'd like to call "Hero Rehab" where he's on a tag on the leg and if he breaks the law or is outside his designated address he is teleported into the prison and his sentence is increased, but each criminal he brings to justice reduces his sentence. Kinda like Cyber City Oedo 808.
-
Recently got back into CoV recently. I haven't been palying for a while and I now see that Going Rogue is starting soon? Awesome. Think I'll preorder it.
-
hmm...really need to think up some idea for a secondary sec for MMs.

I'd love to see either a placate or a confuse where you can turn another player into a puppet, that would be extra creepy.
[/ QUOTE ]
yeah that would be a great idea, but instead of it being a Mez emote using psionics why not something like that thing (that you hold onto when controlling a puppet with strings attaching themselves to the arms and legs.) so that it would like like he was being puppeted. Kinda like this game I have called Ghost Master. One of the powers you're ghosts can get is where you do that and often drives people insane. very fun. *evil smirk*

Voodoo Doll is an interesting idea, am very much in favour of that. Also, Overfiend's mention of devil may cry was what I pictured immediately too, would certainly get me rolling a mastermind
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks it's the first thing that came to mind. I would love to see if they were also animated in the same way too. Just like they were being lifted in the hair by invisable strings.

Puppetry (Mastermind Power set)
Level 1: Manikins (Tier 1 pet)
You can summon up to three manikins to do your bidding. These are basic wooden manikins that have been enchanted. If you attempt to summon anymore while the maximum amount is present the power will fail.

I'd have ot say I like the idea of these first pets as just like any first MM pets when at a high enough level to get 3 they do make perfect meat sheilds as the term my friend often uses.

Level 1: Fling
You take control of an enemy and throw them into the air.
Target attack
Damage: Moderate Recharge: Moderate

I could imagine strings for this to wrap up the victim and throw them or perhaps hooks that grab their shoulders before throwing them in the air.
[ QUOTE ]
Level 2: Mind Puppetry
You take control of an opponents mind and confuse him
Target confuse
Recharge: Moderate
[/ QUOTE ]
As I mentioned it could be using the stings an dtaking control of them which would be here considered a confusion.
Level 6: Improved puppetry
You enhance your puppetry skills to make your puppets stronger
Recharge: Moderate

Level 8: Restriction
You use your puppetry skills to command an opponent to restrain one of their comrades
(This power works like confuse)

I certainly like imaging stings holding them to place. For some reason the power sounds like a hold to me. It would be cool to have a hold for a mastermind.
[ QUOTE ]
Level 12: Shadow Puppet(Tier 2 pet)
You summon up to two Shadow Puppets to do your bidding. These puppets are hard to hit due to the fact they are shadows. If you attempt to summon more than the maximum amount allowed to be present the power will fail

I can imagine the self intangibility could be something they use like the Soul Extraction pet for the necromancy set where it only uses the ability when low on health. It's very helpful when fighting EBs as they can escape, heal and return.

Level 18: Voodoo Doll
You summon a Voodoo Doll of an opponent. This will hover beside you but will not attack, instead you attack it. Its voodoo magic will eventually become useless. This pet may not be upgraded
(You must target an enemy to summon this pet,it has the range of a sniper and will not agro the target while you attack the Voodoo Doll. This power lasts two minutes)
Recharge: Very long
[/ QUOTE ]
This is certainly a very interesting power. It sounds like a prolonged hold and can be extremely effective if say there were a kheldian in you're team (either in one of the hero and villain teaming zones or perhaps if the epic villain ever comes out which is supposed to be a kheldian, but not confirmed) and you can use it to take out the Quantum or Void hunter so that the Kheldian in question can attack.
[ QUOTE ]
Level 28: String Puppet(Tier 3 pet)
This power summons one String Puppet. This pet is larger and suspended by strings, it will also hover beside you.
(When summoned this pet acts like an epic archtypes shape shifting powers but you the pet will animate the powers and not you. You may not control the puppets movement. This will act like a Warhshades shape shifting power and give you access to new powers in your tray)

This one almost sounds a little TOO powerful in my opinion. It's very interesting and I thought it would be cool it could create underlings. Ofcourse they would be the size of rikti monkeys and deal about the same amount of damage. I hope with it having underling pets wouldn't make it too over-powered. Psioics would be interesting for it's attacks too. Perhaps like the Lich is has holds and immobilise powers.

Level 32: Master Puppetry
Your mastery of puppetry allows you to do more things with your puppets.

wow...just...wow that's amazing idea. I love it. Mostly the fact that maniquines are freaky (like the ones in the old Dr Who series or in the first Devil May Cry) and would make a cool power set for Master Minds.
Anyway I was wondering why not have knifes? I was thinking they looked more sinister if they had a weapon like a knife or even claws. -
odd I thought Tanks and Brutes were meant to be the same. Well...stone brutes if slotted wil could take alot of damage like a tank. Surly they should be able to tank, right?
