Mother's Love Retires.

Dear Paragon,

I'd like to thank all of you for the best Introduction to my first MMO I could of possibly hoped for. The EU City of Heroes community is something very special, and It has been a real privilege to have served alongside all of you fighting crime in Paragon City for nigh on five years and to have met some of the most wonderful characters from your Imaginations.

Alas, last night my graphics card decided to give up the ghost after 6 years of avid gamer punishment, and although I had hoped to have said goodbye to all of you in-game - I don't think I'm going to be able to get it fixed to meet the deadline of my lapsing 6-month holiday subscription plan, therefore I think this will be farewell, at least for now.

My plans are to eventually return, (looking forward to 'Going Rogue') but I am devoting considerably more of my free time into a part-time 2-day a week 1 year '3D Studio Max' course that will require some concentration on my behalf, so I think this will probably work out for the best... a nice long break allowing both unseen CoH content and new zones to pile up and simultaneously allowing me to save for a shiny new rig to play it on.

I won't be able to post anymore on the CoH forums after the 3rd of September, but will be on and able to post to the CO ones as I have a lifetime membership in anticipation of my new rig, (albeit a couple of months or so down the line). Anyone will still be able reach me at ML's address; mothers_love@hotmail.co.uk.

I would like to wish Paragon City a bright and prosperous future. Maybe sometime in the future, a City of Heroes will once again need a Mother's Love.. but for now I would just like to say It has been an absolute honour... I am going to miss you all terribly.

I’m truly sad to hear you’re leaving us.

You are one of the real legends.

One of your many good deeds was helping me find my way when I was close to abandoning all hope.

For that I’m very grateful (as I’m sure many out there are for all the good you’ve done)

So thank you for being a true hero for all of us in words and in deeds.

Let me just say in closing I now have even more motivation to try Going Rogue , as maybe just maybe I’ll run into you once again.

Goodnesss gracious me! This really is the end of an era, albeit temporary

No more random bumping-intos, which only seemed to occur on apparently Pick-Up TFs or Seasonal & Special Events when ML would buff like crazy to keep my little sub-level 6 toon alive to help bring down a Winter Lord in Galaxy City.

But the biggest impact for most, I think, will be the temporary absence of one of the most measured, balanced, stable, informed, polite, genial, even-tempered and valuable constributors to these here forums.

See you back for Going Rogue, and meanwhile have a blast with the 3D - remember how nice we all were when Pixar offer you that job...

Even though we never really met ingame (the closest we came was when you organized a mass meeting in Atlas Park in honor of Christopher Reeves on the anniversary of his passing), I'm sad to hear you're leaving, but I'm hopeful that it will only be temporary - so on this note, enjoy your vacation from CoH, and see you again when GR is out In the meantime, I wish you all the best, and enjoy yourself with whatever you'll be doing

As a mainly Defiant based player I have only met you once on test for the super being comp. Don't think I quite have the correct name for it

I saw this as the latest thread to be posted in in the EU lounge, and my jaw literally dropped. It's sad to see such a true legend leave, but I too hope that you'll come back later on.

I can only echo what everyone has said, it'll will be a big loss to the community as a whole.

I remember before i had chosen which server to make home i was in the hollows on union with my first ever toon, when from out of nowhere mumsie appears and buffs the hell out of me before shooting off, was the only time i saw you in game but seeing your post's always puts a smille on my face.

Speaking as someone who also recently re-subbed (the Going Rogue expansion is a very exciting development), I hope that your enthusiasm is soon rekindled, and if not, I hope to see a familiar face patrolling the streets of Millennium City.
