I'm very glad you liked it Tartyrsauce, she was fun to draw
-
Thanks everyone, and of course, before The Avengers, Captain Marvel was Earth's Mightiest Mortal
-
I don't very often draw superheroes these days, as I'm a bit rubbish at them, but I recently tried to do a re-imagining of DC's Captain Marvel. It went a lot further than I initially expected, and now only the inspiration is left over from the original.
I thought I'd put him up here too, as it's been an age since I posted much of anything.

I've always considered that the different servers are alternate dimensions too. I've certainly played alternate versions of characters of different servers/worlds.

Quote:Now you see, that's what happens when a slipshod and sloppy illustrator grabs the first pic for reference he sees in someones gallery, whilst not being bothered with doing any proper research. Sloppy, sloppy work!*grumble grumble* Caemgen has a predominantly feline face... closer to a lions snout and split upper lip than a human nose.
It's not anything unique to this particular piece per say, it just bugs me sometimes how many
commissioned artists completely overlook his major characteristics.
They often get the horns wrong too (though he seems more content to give people artistic
license with the horns and wings to see what cool twist they come up with).
I try to keep my yap shut when it's gift artz though.
*grumble grumble* It's fake astroturf anyway!

Quote:You're welcome, and I'm glad you liked him!AWESOME!!
I totally love it! And of course it is recognizable, you goof!! It totally kicks butt!!
Really, very cool and I think the piece fits him perfectly. Thank you!
Quote:I think it's got a bit of maturity to it, a little weariness, but the eyes are so intense.
I really like it.
Quote:Cool take on him Destiny. Almost has a hint of the RL Caemgen to it...
Since it's a gift I'll forgo my usual cantankerous grumbling.
There's another doodle of a forumite on my devArt page, but this one's certainly NSFW... -
...and another doodle. This is supposed to be a forum regular here. I hope it's both recognisable and not hated too much!

Ta... Better safe than sorry posting these days I find
Thanks!
Since I returned to CoH I've been playing a re-made version of my old main alt on Exalted. This time around he's Grav/Time and I'm enjoying using him, even tho' he's currently becalmed in the low 40's...
Loving retro-goggles.

Here's another (very) quickie, which I guess would be called A Death Foretold or something... There's also a new pic of everyone's favorite Kat on my devArt account, done as a bit of gift art. It's NSFW really tho', so you have been warned.

I was doodling something else, and she turned into Ghost Widow by accident, so here she is...
-
Thanks everyone!
I'm having fun, but doing too much work to play much. Managed a quick sketch tho'... it's nice to be back in Paragon!
-
Would it be more fun if rather than having the BPs standing around aimlessly, there was just a perminant Zombie event-style attack going on in DA? Might make the zone much more fun...
-
...well I was going to say the Doctor is in, but that's a little cheesy.
After a long time away I've bee lured back to Paragon, initially by the promise of free play, but now as a VIP, as I forgotten how much fun it was!
I'll certainly be trying to fit time in to draw some pics again, but for now, it's just great to be back!
http://fav.me/d4133qb A pic!
http://fav.me/d3k159u Another pic! (veeeery slighty nsfw) -
Thanks everyone who said nice things here, and thanks to those who briefly teamed with an old n00b this weekend... I think I'll come back for the new expansion, but until then, the icons will continue if you're interested either on my devArt site or, if accepted, on the CoH devArt group.
It was fun to pop into the old old town once more, even if, sadly, most of my old global friends have noved onto pastures new. -
Hi all,
Thanks to NCSoft's marvelous re-activation weekend, I'm able to pop back in and say hi! I'm also able to highlight the start of a new series of pics: The Paragon Icons, the first of which is The Grey Huntress, done because I was feeling nostalgic looking at the upcoming Going Rogue expansion, and thinking of re-subbing.
So, HI ALL! and here's the first Paragon City Icon (suggestions for future ones gratefully accepted!)

Another one, in a different style, that's just a preparatory sketch for a request really...

Personally, I think this is a reasonable offer for some folks. I don't charge for non-commercial pics, but I fit the ones I fancy doing in around the other stuff, so it tends to take me a long time to get around to them.
Also, I draw with wobbly lines and use blotchy colours, so I don't draw much of a queue.
I'd also suggest you have a look at the artists here, and check out their devArt accounts, where they often bring up the subject of filthy lucre. Except Foo, who is just filthy. -
Next up is a kind of Alternate World Captain Marvel. It seems that every alternate world has to have a Captain Marvel... (larger version: http://drdestiny.deviantart.com/art/...el-2-133322504 )

Personally, I've found that when I cut corners to save time, I end up dissatisfied with what I've produced.
Recently I've been giving myself a set time to produce a piece, simply to improve my working speed, and caring less about the actual results. The process being the most important aspect. Having said that, it bugs me tremendously when I run out of time and that piece isn't finished to my satisfaction. What that process has done though, is to have sped up my drawing speed tremendously, and I think that if you continue to work towards your original goals, your speed will naturally increase, without sacrificing content.
You're only producing this to please yourself really, so why not take your time?
