The line between heroism and villainy gets blurrier and blurrier as we near the apogee of Emperor Cole's reign. We have already introduced you to both Maelstrom, a soldier disavowed by the government he fought so hard for, and Desdemona, a sulfurous demon-summoning sorceress once bent on revenge. But it is now time to unveil the biography of the most prominent figure in Praetoria.

Learn how Marcus Cole ascended to power and became Emperor Cole, a.k.a. Tyrant, in a world torn apart by the Devouring earth and the biggest menace of all - Hamidon - in the latest Going Rogue Website Update!

his bio definitly gave some more information as to how he came to power. all we knew before this was that he ruled his realm with an iron fist, but based on this new info, it seems he was doing it for the good of mankind unless he has some secret agenda...

Very well done, as always. I like how he "reluctantly" took on ever-increasing mantles of responsibility. From the bio you can definitely see why the populace loves him.

And that battle with Hamidon. Why do I have the feeling there will be big revelations about that historical event once the expansion goes live? At the very least, it's ripe for speculation.

Yeah it seems like Cole was accepting this great responsibility reluctantly for the good of the human race... or he's very very good at manipulating Earth's populace to believe he has the best of intentions.

"It is with great reluctance that I have agreed to this calling. I love democracy. I love the Republic. The powers you give me I will lay down when this crisis has been abated."

Perhaps he is not content with ruling Praetoria Earth. Perhaps he will "protect" Primal Earth from themselves as well, and then another Earth, and another, and then yet another. If you're going to live forever and you are emperor of one Earth, why not continue on with the others?

There's also the matter of the people that "disappear" when they don't "volunteer" for service or have any "harmful ideas".

Oh indeed. Tyrant is a true savior. It was he who saved his world from destruction at the hands of the Hamidon and Devouring Earth. He who protects the people of his world from harmful oppression and chaos. He will bring order and peace to Primal Earth. To Paragon City and to the Rogue Isles.

Not.

Yes, that 90% death rate for all recruits of the Powers Division doesn't sound too nice - and neither does that fact that anyone with superpowers is forced to join

Been a good week for GR news or, at least, speculation. Hope we see more periodic updates like this.

If you have super powers, gained or inherent , then it is your civic duty to be in the Powers Division.

Being killed for not doing your civic duty sounds like something a tyrant would approve of

You aren't allowed to have private thoughts. Mother Mayhem cleanses you. So, bad news there.

Yes - Tyrant's idea of a utopia has no free thought allowed - very heroic and just

OK, we get the subtext:

Tyrant could very well have been in league with Hamidon to bring the world into a more orderly rule

He kills anyone with power if they can't be at least 90% trusted

But if you're a normal person who never does anything worse than fapping around? You're life is golden

The only reason to oppose him would be if he were trying to expand his rule to our world

hmmm...

And the Hamidon is under the psychic control of Nemesis

Who's psychicly being controlled by Mother Mayhem ...

After reading Emperor Cole's bio, Praetorian Earth sounds grand. All hail Emporer Cole!

There is a flaw in Tyrant's character profile. It says he is of Magic origin, but unless the Well of Furies is fundamentally different on Praetorian Earth than primal Earth, his origin is Incarnate.

Wouldn't quite make sense, as Hami would've just wiped humanity out. What sounds more plausible is that the Korean War nukes created Hami and fused him with Tyrant at the same time. That would provide Tyrant/Hami with the motivation to kill off part of the human population so that the rest would submit to willing servitude. Allowing them to be forever watched and controlled while Tyrant/Hami cleanses the world of their pollution

Win for Tyrant! Win for Hamidon!
