Write a novel in a month! NaNoWriMo 2006 for CoH
Question, as I CBA to visit the site from work...
What's to stop people cheating and start their novels already?
@FloatingFatMan
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Honesty?

What's to stop people from signing up, spitting at the ceiling the whole month and just claiming that they wrote anything?
Nothing.
If someone wishes to cheat, they do, and won't get caught.
whats everyones title for the book
Mines gona be a dark, evil, good vs evil, kind of idea, and a fantasy. And of course Magic is invovled! :P Its called!
"Shards of Darkness". Kind of dramatic i know....

It would be pointless as its 2 days ahead , but you could... but be honest, who is sad enough to cheat on a fun, fair competition!

Nice title .
Mine's called "Untitled Document 54".
What? It's original.
Mine is called Future's End. Completely unoriginal, I know, but I swear it doesn't involve any time travel whatsoever. At all.
There will be a great deal of satanic themed politics in it (at least that's the plan).

Does it involve a planetoid with a large sealed pit, under which is Satan himself? Things are fine, until a Rather Intelligent man and a Chavette show up in a blue box and unwittingly help to set him free?
Sounds like oodles of fun.

If it does end up like that, please feel free to bludgeon me to death. It's firmly science fiction - no supernatural entities at all.

Mine's called New Text Document1548.txt
Mine's called "randomous.wps"
"What's your book called?"
"Umm... The Day After Yesterday."
"You mean... today?"
"..."
Mine's got the working title of 'Dark Heart', but I may change that to one of the chapter titles.
It's difficult to think of a title of a story about a villain named Dr Apocalypse, without it sounding overly pantomime-ish.

Will there be a chapter on how he qualified from medical school and slew the graduating class?

Yesterday, my mum and I decided to do some research into the history of the house she grew up in (via Ancestry.com), and in 1881 there were some very colourful characters living there.
And so, within seconds, my entire plot idea was scratched and I now have another.
I love it when a plan...er...plot comes together.
"Say, I hear you're writing in NaNoWriMo"
"Yup. Me and my friends are all taking part."
"Really, what's their usernames?"
"Well, it's a funny thing, because they're using strange names, to differentiate themselves from anyone else."
"Okay?"
"So, Who's writing Science Fiction, What's writing Fantasy, I Don't Know's on Erotica."
"You say they're your friends?"
"Yes."
"You say you know their names?"
"Yes."
"So, how are they calling themselves?"
"Who's writing Science Fiction, What's writing Fantasy, I Don't Know's on Erotica."
"Who's writing fantasy?"
"No, Who's writing Science Fiction."
"I'm not asking who's writing science fiction, I don't know the guy's name writing Fantasy."
"No, he's writing Erotica, we're not talking about him."

It's the sort of "I was actually a top-level scientist, but I'll call myself a Doctor now I'm evil anyway"
And that will be touched upon in the story, nothing escapes my wrath when writing, other than giant plot-holes and inconsistencies.
Well, I'm using the name Reptyle, and I'd invite everyone to add me so that WHEN I decide that I want to bunk off, you can give me a kick
Mine is called Champions of London, and does have a heavy spandex influence but with room for tragedy, comedy, colourful characters and general silliness.
With any luck, Joss Whedon meets Marianne Keyes...
Is it time for the dance of joy yet?
I'm on as, go on, guess....
Myopic Aardvark of course.

And they have beautiful, talented babies who are locked up the BBC building for all eternity, made to write endless amounts of awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping literature?
Edit: Wow, my spelling is awful.
Anyone writing as Laurel K Hamilton.....?
Y'know, just so I can completely avoid the pron.... ahem, I mean the deep vampire/werewolf/any other bestiality theme you'll be writing?

That's for next year
I hate to RTFM but just by glancing at the prog it doesn't immediately open up. I may end up using a word processor and keep yWriter for some other project "when I have the time".
Less than two days to go. Maybe I should start a timeline... My last NaNo novel was blown out of sky because of a mangled timeline which twisted more and more as weeks flashed by.
