Oh, I took you seriously. I just thought it was a terrible idea, and didn't want to hurt your feelings.

You still updating the website? And you might want to link it here if you are

I thought this second trailer captured the feeling of Ask A Ben a bit more than the first...

[/ QUOTE ]I'd say the pic of Trelawney matched AAB perfectly

The update is in progress as I type this...well, not literally. I added Trelawney, because all the others were "serious" prophets, etc, and AaB is more jokey than anything else.

Can i still have a shiny nickel?

A Canadian nickel, sure. At the current rate of exchange, though, I think that means that, in order for you to garner your nickle, you'd actually have to give ME money.

Just a quickie, before I head off to bed.

Super Heroine asked a question a while ago, and I thought, what with the London trip in a few hours, that I should answer it here and now. Don't think of this as a premature start to Ask A Ben season Two. Nor is it an extension of season one. If anything, this is...Season 1.5, and this'll be the only question I'll answer this way, since the question and the answer would take far more than the ten minutes allowed me by Youtube.

[ QUOTE ]
Did they really take that long to make? I know you said that the one with the text on screen to follow the song lyrics took several hours, but were the rest just as hard?

[/ QUOTE ]

The episodes themselves, as I stated in the previous thread, can take anywhere from half an hour to -seven- hours to make. The 'karaoke' episode, as I call it, where Zortel asked a question which revolved around the song, "The Riddle", had me writing a placard with the lyrics she quoted to me, and I had to put them to music, springs to mind. It was the single most challenging episode I've done by far, and I was literally up all night putting it together. I'm something of a perfectionist. No matter what you may believe, nothing happens in the episodes that I don't want to happen. If something is even slightly out, I'll do it all again.

However, it isn't just the 'post production', if you will, that takes a while for me to do. I can spend quite a while on the actual filming. As an example...

I decided to put together a short "Ask A Ben goes to London" during the convention, and wanted to kick it off on the friday night, talking about preperation. I decided that the actual introduction should last no more than two minutes...three, in a pinch. However, what I didn't count on was how quickly I had fallen out of rhythm with doing something as seemingly easy as talking to a camcorder. The finished introduction runs at 2:06, and looks like just any of Ask A Ben episode, minus the intro:

London Expo - Friday Night

As you can see, no real differences there. However...what if I were to tell you that those two minutes and six seconds were, in reality, the product of over 18 minutes of filming? Sadly, it's true. I made a short clip of the...out-takes, I suppose, so you guys can see that I actually put a lot of time into the creation of each episode. Whilst the outtake clip is only 3:53, there is, quite honestly, four times as much film on the tape.

Out-takes

Please note that this second clip contains adult language. I cut out a LOT of the swearing from the outtakes (including two very rude mother insults), however, I kept a very small amount in, just to indicate my general frustration.

This is the sort of thing that happens with every single episode.

[/ QUOTE ]Heh, 'tis true, I've filmed some stuff myself and the first times I was amazed how that two hours of footage somehow ended up in a clip of under five mins

Also, do you know if google videos allows longer than 10 minutes, and what kinda rules they have for uploading stuff? Might be worth checking out.

...I love this question, and I look forward to answering it. However, I'm curious about the "in dismissed" part.

Couple of questions for you...

1) If you could be a pirate for a day, what piratey antics would you get up to, and what would be your favourite piratey moment. (77 days to my favourite day of the year)

2) If you could have any job on the dev team, which one would you pick, and why?

3) If Weasel and FG had a fight for a creative genius title, who would win?

4) What line of dialogue would you put into the game, and who would say it?

5) Ask a Ben is better than ask a Ninja. What other internet shows is Aab better than?

6) Would you want pigeons in CoH/V?

7) Deal or No Deal?

If a being is omnipotent, then he MUST, according to the laws of logic, be able create a stone that is so heavy that he himself cannot lift, because it is all powerful. However if the being is truly omnipotent, again according to logic, then he MUST be able to lift a stone of any amount of mass, but if he does that, he cancels out the first statement, is he still omnipotent and can omnipotence be achieved according to the consistency of logic??

ok, here's a couple more questions for you FG, hope u can use em.

What inspired you to make another season of ask a ben?

Aren't you afraid that a ninja is ognna kill you, especially since you said ask a ben is better than ask a ninja.

were there any questions that were asked during the first season of ask a ben that were never used, if so then how many would you say.

I hope you a triple threat out of this one.

An American Presidential debate between yourself and Frazzle.d (or a sock puppet if Fraz isn't available/is frothing due to medication) where you debate the big issues, such as Epic Archetypes; Are they really needed?

For added realism, Fraz should answer every question by going, "What!?"

Oh goodness, I'm actually posting in Creative again:

1.) Why did The Human League's last album 'Secrets' sell so badly in 2001?

2.) Are Ferrero Rochers actually *that* posh?

3.) HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey, or SHODAN from System Shock, which would you rather took over the world?

4.) What on earth is actually going on in 'Lost'?

Oooh, I have an idea for something you could do Ben, why don't you perform little plays and interviews with certain player heroes?

All you'd need to do is cut out their head and torso's and bluetack them to fingers/pens/chopsticks/the cat.

How about this for a question.

Ninja vs samurai - who would win.

they can not use thier katanas, they get dildos instead.

I'm glad you said it before I did.

Whilst I will answer any question (and I do mean any question) you have to bear in mind that this is a series of webisodes linked to a 12+ forum for a 12+ game. I'm sure people have noted that, in the past, I've used profanity in the episodes (especially in conjunction with Gala Bingo) - that's something I, personally, don't have a problem with. In my last job, I would regularly meet children younger than 12, who could (and would) swear better than some of the guys I go drinking with. So, to me, swearing isn't an issue. Even sexual innuendo isn't something I totally have a problem with (see Episode One, for example) as innuendo can be taken two ways. Innuendo means subtle (and not so subtle) references to something else. You could take a sentance like

[ QUOTE ]
Everyone's jealous of my huge, enormous Assault Rifle

[/ QUOTE ]

and either infer that I'm referring to my in-game gun, or...something else. Someone in the know would get it, and (I would hope) find humour in the joke...someone not in the know would still get a joke out of it, as in that particular episode, I was bemoaning not having stamina triple slotted.

Make of that what you will.

But, harmless fun it may be, I will not be the cause of little Timmy turning around at the dinner table and saying:

"Mummy? Some guy in the game I play was talking about some things that sound really cool, can I get them?"
"Sure, what are they?"
"There's a two foot long double dildo, Vibrating Love Eggs, and KY Jelly."

...Not conductive to either family harmony, in-game contentment, and my personal happiness. Find another question that doesn't involve objects that a stereotypical 12 year old would find questionable, and I'll happily run with it.
