Now, what about those new MA/SS animations???

Have you tried purging your codecs and reinstalling the latest ones? Over here, I use the CCCP, and it hasn't failed me yet.

Probably a good idea, though i don't actually know how to purge and reinstall codecs.

I don't think it's limited to just earth tones. I think what the person was commenting about was a set of earth tones in one part of the color picker. I have trouble finding more than one or two realistic earthtones in the standrd picker, so one customized to provide additional earth tones would be nice (if I am interpreting that video correctly).

The colors on the "custom" pallette were all earth toned. That is to say, there were no "bright" blues or reds, bright yellows or whatnot - they were muted, mostly brown, grey, green, dirt-colors.

Back to font, yes, these letters, if taken as Cyrillic, do stand for USSR. That's why the people developing the codec pack have a red theme on their site In this case, though, it stands for Combine Community Codec Pack.

As for how to purge it, that would depend on which version of Windows you are running. Under XP, that would be Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs, then look for some version of DivX, XviD, FFDShow or CCCP. At least those are the codecs I'm aware of. If you take it over to the Tech Issues forum people will probably give you a full list of what to look for. Get rid of those, then just goggle just google CCCP (or go here) and download the pack applicable to your operating system. The installation process is pretty self-explanatory, and though the setting up of the codecs' options is pretty complicated (too complicated for me), you can just leave them at the suggested settings and not really have any problems.

If you're running Vista or one of the pre-launch Windows 7 Builds, I'm not sure what the renamed version of Add/Remove programmes is called. "My Programmes" or some such. It works in much the same way, though.

Seriously, post this over at Technical Issues and Bugs and give it a day or two. I'm sure someone with more intricate knowledge will give you a step-by-step guide.

I can't tell, but I hope so. Actually, one new animation I'm hoping for is a Hulk style punch-the-ground-for-a-shockwave version of Foot Stomp.

EDIT : OK; looking at the other pictures in the gallery, I think that IS a super strength power. The words are too blurry to actually read, but it does look like the Super Strength listing. In which case, I think that's Haymaker.

I was pushing to try and get Neil Gaimen, as he seems like a proper nerd who would see the capabilities of this. oh and as per the spines vid, oy gevel, i liked the third model of tons of curved spines, im hoping we get something similar with thorns too, right?

New videos up in my thread about this, Superstrength, Martial Arts and Earth assault as requested. yes, there are some alternates on SS and MA! (and yes, I narrate those! hehehe)

The "Guest Author" thing is this: they were shopping around at the con for published authors (of comics and whatever) to think about doing guest spots in the MA for them. It looks like a neat thing for "real authors" - a little gimmicky but hey. If Neil Gaiman ever wrote a story for COH you know we'd all play it.

I absolutely agree
