Looks like "Earth Assault" is coming for Dominator

I don't see it happening. The mez protection is rendered at least partly obsolete by Domination, and doms don't have enough HP to make the +regen worthwhile.

Earth's Embrace is almost certainly the utility power. Nothing else would get the 'tankish' feel Sunstorm mentioned without being a shield.

I hope you are right but that could easily be you filling in the blanks. We dont know what makes Sunstorm feel tankish. Foot Stomp and Whirling Hands and Hand Clap and Fault make me feel tankish, heck even having a high percentage of melee, or having the stone hammers, or some earth shake would make me personally "feel" tankish.

So, we can't really know, since we don't know Sunstorm's personal quirks.

I would certainly like EE though!

I tend to agree but there is precedent: Drain Psyche and Power Boost (boosts heals and Defense IIRC).

The best comics are still 10�!

Ooo, someone knows awesome anime. Yeah, if it's half that good it'll be a really fun set to play. Of course, I'm just imagining what it would be like to play a those incredibly fast activating Stone Melee powers combined with Earth control and am absolutely ecstatic about it.

It would be amazing if they could take powers customization and make some of the other elemental set types have martial arts themes like in Avatar. Having Shaolin based Fire Melee would make a martial artist like me extremely happy.

Of course, then we would need a Air Assault and Water Assault set to go with it. There's certainly enough material in Avatar to pull from to make a good control set to match though.

Pretty sure Avatar is an American cartoon. It does look like Anime, though, I'll give you that.

yep, its Amerime, but the art studio in Korea I think.

I was more suprised that Cartoon network paid for a cartoon that didn't insult the intelligence of anyone over the age of 12.

I'm not a purist though, any show that can mix buddhist ideals with spectacular fight scenes gets tops marks in my opinion.

Additionally in favor of EE as the utility - it's already available to Controllers (albiet in an APP). It's not considered brokenly powerful on that side of the coin, which lends support to that it wouldn't be broken on an AT of similar HP and semi-similar function.

Drain Psyche is a straight Regen boost, though, while Power Boost requires you to have Aid Self to actually get some use out of it. I think an actual straight self-heal would be quite powerful for a Dominator.

You mean like on a Crab Spider? Not to mention those scaling resists Widows get. I'm just saying theres precedent for a little mold breaking.and a dom with a self-heal/hp boost power isnt that far fetched.

Power Boost is pretty dang useful for my To-hit and Defense values from Leadership. It's also pretty awesome on my AoE mez's. Of course, this is all in pve.

P.S. The best argument I've seen for Earth's Embrace not being in the set is the fact it is in the Controller APP, and if crossed-over Dominators get access to that APP, then that would be broken to have 2 EE's.

Crossed over toons would either not have access to cross faction epics or, the dom app would not be a controller's. Probably a blaster's.

I highly doubt crossed over toons will get access to a diffrent AT's APP. It doesn't make sense. A controllers APP is balanced for that AT's unique needs. It wouldn't make sense to give that pool to a radically different AT (in this case doms) or vice-versa.

It seems more likely a Dom will still be a dom if he/she crosses over to blue side. Meaning they would keep their powers as is including power pools. I still have my fingers crossed for EE for doms, but my money is on Dominators getting AIM or Build up.

The reason EE isn't overpowered on a Troller is because their secondaries already have a heal(well, most of them do), while Doms don't.

Not most, only half of them have a self heal (asterisked):

1) Empathy*
2) Force Field
3) Kinetics*
4) Radiation*
5) Sonic
6) Storm
7) Thermal*
8) Trick Arrow

Actually, if you include Cold Dom (I16), the majority of Controller secondaries wouldn't have a heal (5/9).

EE on a dom is much more like Essense Boost on a Kheld. Both are squishy AT's with access to melee and ranged power sets.

EE has saved my khelds bacon, but I've still died plenty after using it. So I don't see it as overpowered on a dom. However, looking at the precedents of how dom powersets have been put together. It's unlikely we'll see EE. AIM or Build up is far more likely.

Earth Control / Earth Assault

Fire Cntrol / Fire Assault

Mind Control / Psionic Assault

Gravity Control / Energy Assault

Plant Control / Thorn Assault

Ice Control / Ice Assault

Sometime after i17 and GR
Electric Control / Electrical Assault
????? / Dark Assault

Sometime further than my great mind can say!

Either way this is a favorable since this is a new powerset not some skinned version...and since Illusion is on the list of powers that Will be able to be recolored black and dark purple...I rather have something brand new to play with. seeing as everyone thinks GR will be the end of Heroes Vs. Villains most people will roll an illusion fallen hero...I rather have electric control as a Dom set first...
