One thing is better...
Teaming with somebody who has a heavy Knockdown attack and timing it so they hit just after you hit KO blow. I swear I can almost hear the bones breaking as they slam to the ground 
Also cool...
Killing with War Mace's Jawbreaker and knocking the guy up to his death at about 12 ft, he lays out flat in mid air with a wiggle and comes plummeting down flat on his back.

Awesome power I agree...but the wind-up is very cartoony.
I loved the minigame on my Fire/SS tank - deliver KO Blow and try to get underneath the victim as they landed, to set off a Burn patch while they were held.

I can't decide if I like KO Blow or Headsplitter (on my scrapper) more. With Headsplitter I lift my broadsword over my head and slice down, knocking the foe straight into the ground. He just plain crumples. It is awesome.
Last night I was facing Freaks and I hit one minion with Headsplitter and it crit, defeating him in one blow. He then rezzed so I hit him again and got another crit so down he went again. I thought "...and this time, stay down!"
On the other hand, KO Blow lets me really feel like a superhero.

Yup, Mace is just awesome! 
Love knocking them up with Jawbreaker and then bringing them crashing down with Clobber.
Another great "wow" melee power is Golden Dragonfly from the Katana set... it's a small cone, so there are some times where you can crit on two foes at once and drop them at the same time when they're at full health or so. Made me blink when it happened the first time, and then say "Awesome!"

I love KoB. The build up is an amazing anticipation builder... and then BAM! Right on the jaw. I can hear the teeth falling for great 3 digit damage.... mmm I <3 IO's too...

If you like KO Blow, try making an X/earth tank and using the Heavy Mallet -> Stone Mallet combo.
Heavy mallet takes em off they feet with a sweep animation then stone mallet brings down the pain on their face with an overhead smash animation.
Just freaking awesome!
