Okay, to pass the time while the servers are down..

If the Praetorian version of a person is supposed to be the exact opposite of the standard version; what might the Praetorian version of your forum persona and your characters be?

For example.. My character conversions:

Flexible Physics : Rigid Chemistry
Passive Aggression : Excited Calm
Assisted Afterlife : Do-It-Yourself Birth
Surgeon's Canvas : Dentist's Clay
Re-Stitched : UnStapled
Lore Master : Ignorance Slave

Hmm. I guess for the forum avatar it would have to be Impervium_Imp_With_a_Goatee_That_Means_He's_Evil.

I toyed with a Praetorian version of my Sonic/Sonic defender as a Sonic/Sonic corruptor, but it felt too much like playing the same powersets over again. (Neurophon vs Battlesong, btw).

Odd thing about that. I've reupped my accounts, and was looking at my villians and heroes....
...and came to the startling realization that they are mirrors. Nearly every one came out to a 1-1 concept match, with only a few offs in the set.

Silk : Frieze (2. A coarse, shaggy woolen cloth with an uncut nap.)
Freeze Frame : Fast Forward
Dakota : Singapore ( West > East)
Noa : Coye (Noa has many meanings in different languages including a feminine hebrew name for movement. Coye comes up as English for "Quiet, Still")
Starmada : Terraft (Get it? Both portmanteau.. second being Terra + Raft.. I'm such a nerd.)
Alt : Main Attraction
Brunette : Blonditz (Hey, I had to throw in something controversial! Dinah's going to find me.. Oh noess.)
Angry Angel : Delighted Demon ( Alliteration ftw!)

Czarina : Provincia (Ok, now I'm just getting lazy by adding "a" at the end)

The Praetorian Name thing is interesting. Let's look at some examples:

Statesman == Tyrant
Back Alley Brawler == Marauder
Positron == Anti-Matter
Mynx == Bobcat

So, in general, the Praetorian Name of a character is a reflection of their current name, but with a more...aggressive, sinister twist.

Given that:

Castle == Checkmate

Does that mean nothing is more sinister than Infernal or Malaise?

Of course, that's only the pattern for Good Guys Gone Bad. For Bad Guys Gone Good, the pattern seems to be to merely inverse part of the name.... So Pantless Giant would become Pantsful Giant! But what about names where there's no clear inversion? Say, Bob Newhart? Dick Van [censored] really isn't the inversion....

Inquiring minds want to know!

Mine would likely be Argentum; Siolfir is an old english spelling of silver (one of many). I just liked it when I saw it in the entymology and keep using it.
