Getting in Touch with the Praetorian You
[ QUOTE ]
Hmm. I guess for the forum avatar it would have to be Impervium_Imp_With_a_Goatee_That_Means_He's_Evil.
I toyed with a Praetorian version of my Sonic/Sonic defender as a Sonic/Sonic corruptor, but it felt too much like playing the same powersets over again. (Neurophon vs Battlesong, btw).

Since I already have a goatee, does this mean my evil version is clean-shaven?
Nah, but perhaps you're one of those folks like Malaise or Infernal who's his own opposite.

I made my evil Praetorian counterpart the week COV came out. My main COH toon is a hero of the people, for the people; thus 'Great Briton' become comes...
...'Fascist Briton', brutal superhuman enforcer of the Police State of Great Britain.
Nothing like crushing dissent beneath a giant nightstick. LOL

Go ahead. Laugh at the funny cap. I dare ya!

Jeckyl and Hyde? Nah. Doesn't ring a KILLMAIMDESTROY!
*COUGH*
Sorry. Now where were we?

No. The evil you just has a goatee on his goatee.
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

I don't believe going for polar opposite name is a good idea, generally speaking. As was said before, the Praetorians have the same powers as the Freedom Phalanx of Primal Earth for the most part, they just do evil with them. The reason I'm saying this is that one of the VERY few non-name names I actually have would make no sense if I mirrored it.
The Steel Rook derives his name from the mechanical suit of power armour, which allows him to function a lot like a Rook - straight-line offence with superior firepower. Mirroring this wouldn't make much sense, as "Steel" is something that would have to be retained in an alternate version. I suppose I could go with "The Plastic <something>" but that would be kind of like trying to make IronMan's evil counterpart and making it into "Plastic Woman." I mean seriously!
Generally speaking, the Praetorian counterparts of Primal Earth people aren't really "evil twins" or "other halves," they're the SAME people, but different. As such, their Praetorian names wouldn't and shouldn't be the simple-function opposites of their Primal Earth names, they should be evil or more aggressive versions of the same name.
So if losing his wife caused the Steel Rook to develop his armour to ensure the same didn't happen to anyone else, then his Praetorian counterpart would have gone through the same, but decided he had to do to villains what they did to him, transforming, essentially, into the Punisher in power armour. I would then call him The Steel Vengeance or some such.

yeah The stright opsite really doesnt work, and if i'm not mistaken some people remain the saim in both worlds.
Isn't Pretorian Atlas good and fought Cole and died?
What about some of the others people?
Pretorian Hero 1?
Or what about out own characters who stradle the line. What would Pretorinal GI-Ai be?
GI was created by mercenaries in the Rogue Islands as the ultimate killing machine. She killed her creators, put a chip in the mercs brains to make them obay her (or she bows up their heads) and then went out on a "kill all the meat bags, steel what you need" and general she was a cold machine until her mercs got fed up, hired a wizard and turned her into a catgirl with forced emotions. This leads her to sneak into paragon where she tries to get herself maimed in sight of Other heroes to force her to get amputated so so can slowly force her body to be damamnged enough to be replaced with machines.
Anyway long story short a hero takes her in, help her register as a hero and outfits her with a new arm and weapons so now Gi "predends" to be a hero, saves lives, does all the things a hero is supose to do, even act humble and heroic but secretly its all to maim herself and build her resources to get back to being a bot.
Now....
imagine her pretorian counterpart....
