Color customization and you?

Yes; I was just thinking of my Ice/Dark corrupter, the Wolf of Fimbulwinter. Pure white /Dark powers would probably work really well thematically; Tar Patch is snow and so on. A white Dark Servant would look pretty cool I think.

I'm well aware of several definitions for Libertine.

I've had to tell people what I meant before. And while she -is- a horrendous flirt (being in her late teens) mostly she's a Hedonist. She sleeps in late, eats too much, blows of schoolwork for heroing (which is -fun-!) and so forth.

So, no, Libertine Lass is not a common harlot frequenting the darker, seedier portions of the Pocket D. Though she -does- go there, sometimes, to dance with her friends. On Virtue.

Just nothing nasty. :P

I'll mainly be playing with the colors of electricty. I'm half OK with the hero side colors, but I HATE red electricity. I'll also probably monkey around with the colors on energy blast on my one water themed toon to see if I can get it to look more like water. Other than that, I'm not sure.

I kind of like the dark powers. My Dark/Dark Defender I designed his costume to match the color scheme of the powersets.

However, my Elec/Elec Blaster, who is a MU Dissident is definitely getting the Red MU colors instead of the blue.

My MM, I hope they allow for bot customization. I would love the Bots to be the same color scheme as his outfits are.

For me, it's mostly going to depend on what we're actually going to be allowed to change.

For my WP/SS tank, I'd like to make the various auras as non-visible as possible. I specifically chose WP for him as it's graphics are relatively mild. Of course, Rage puts a giant stop-sign on the whole subtle business.

For my MA/SR scrapper, I'd like to get rid of his Hasten pom-poms. I mean, why do my hands glow? I never punch anyone...

Most of my other toons however, were designed (costume, origin, etc) with the current animations in mind and probably won't be getting much (if any) changes.

I expect this to end up causing me to create a whole slew of NEW toons though.

My first is Warren Kane, a proud member of the Cerulean Legion. As a human only PB i love the look of the powers but I've always wished they were blue to match the SG back story more.

My corruptor, Nyxlava, will probably keep her fire the way it is, but I was thinking a deep blood red color for her dark miasma would be cool.

Soulsunder would keep his existing DM, the regen powers would be transparent or black, and Super Speed would be transparent also.

Other than that I expect to be making lots of new characters for the sake of coloring powers.

I think my Girlfriend is going to change her Dark\WP Scrapper to a pink and white or Pink and Purple set up as well.


Personally I have wanted this a long time and now don't know what I am going to do with it. For so long I have modeled my character's costume colors on their power sets.

My Energy blaster is blue and white schemed, my Ice tanker a light blue scheme and my Emp\Rad defender already green with either white or black. I really like their looks so I am sure some of these won't get changes at all.

On the other hand my Electric brute is no longer going to have red lightning. It may go purple or Black or grey or some darker color.

My Energy blaster is going to get his Pink Pom Poms of Death turned dark blue.

My Fire\Elec blaster is going to have Fire turned dark blue and electricity turned light blue.

I need something besides the god awful yellow glow for my DB/WP scrapper. Something much more subdued since she is supposed to be natural and that glow doesn't look right.

My question is, will we be able to color pool powers and Patrons as well? I'd like something besides blazing yellow feet for super speed. I'd also like to change my Soul Mastery powers on my Stalker to dark blue.

I don't know, there are arguments for reddish-pink and a bluish tint, though it usually seems just "too bright for color/white." I think it's generally the surroundings or atmosphere that we pick up the hue from, so there's potential for other colors, too.

Not to get too far off topic, but the different colors of lighting you see there are artifacts based on what types of film those pictures were taken with, not the lightning itself.

To photograph lighting, the photographer sets up his camera at night when there's little light around and leaves the lens open until some pops up. Doing so still exposed the film to a little bit of light however, and the film (varying by manufacturer, if I recall) tends to take on a purplish cast or bluish cast when used this way.

Not that any of this matters anymore since no one uses film these days... >.>;

To get back on topic, I haven't really thought much about which toons of mine I'd recolor. Looking back on it, I tend to have a lot of weapon-using toons, so I dunno if that'd allow me to recolor all that much. My namesake stalker whom I never play could get rid of his pink pom-poms and go with his more natural bluish color I suppose... The toon I'm playing the most right now is a Bots/Dark, so I might find some fun in picking out a new color for all her dark powers, something to match her outfit.

Pastel Darkness, yes... Actually, no. One of the first things I thought to change were Ghost Widow's godawful pastel darkness powers to a more natural "Dark" look so that they would fit with my Dark/Necro Mastermind's Dark Miasma powers.

Two years ago, I really wanted to change my Electric/Electric Brute's lighting to blue, but I worked a cool construction equipment yellow-and-black suit on him that works really well with the ugly red electricity, so that's staying.

My Fire/Fire Brute's fire is getting changed into the same rancid green that his eyes are burning with. His is supposed to be more a physical manifestation of the energy of destruction more so than boring old fire.

My Energy/Energy Blaster will instantly have all of her Energy Manipulation powers recoloured to the same blue as Energy Blast. If we get a selection of power EFFECTS, I'm going to swap out Sniper Blast for something that doesn't suck, like a big giant fireball or a Zeus Titan beam of energy ala Blazing Bolt.

My Energy/Energy Brute will have all her Energy Aura powers recoloured to the same pink that Energy Melee has for consistency's sake.

That's about all I can think of offhand, and it doesn't even include NEW character that these changes will enable.
