Yah, I didn't post, but I kinda thought the same thing. The only thing i could possibly imagine you might want him/her on the team for is for filler, in which case... y'know, you kinda got what you paid for.

I would have just ignored him and let the team move on. By the time we are finished the next spawn, he would have been rezzed.

Ice 'Em Aura LVL 50 Ice Tank
Darq Widow Fortune LVL 50 Fortunata (200% rech/Night Widow 192.5% rech)--thanks issue 19!
Worse yet (this was ina regular mission in Skyway City, so hospital-to-mission travel time was an issue):
Most of the team wipes in a particularly difficult mission; people go to the hospital. Most of the team wipes on the next spawn; people go to the hospital. A few people wipe on the next spawn; leader announces that he will grab awakens on the way back from the hospital.
One player lays defeated in the mission, and doesn't go to the hospital; everyone assumes s/he is waiting for an awaken. Leader returns with awakens and tries to give one to the defeated player. Defeated player's insp tray is full.
Leader: "Hey, 'defeated player,' make room in your tray for an awaken." ... "Hey, 'defeated player.'" ... "Yoo-hoo, 'defeated player.'"
Other player: "I think s/he's afk."
Multiple anyuerisms (sp?) ensue.

You'll get over it.
In this particular case, he did keep rezzing as he gained levels. But, as he kept dying every 30 seconds and as he started having to wait a minute for the magic "ding," it became our responsibility to keep him up, not his to go to the damn hospital.
He entered the mission as level 3. However, I could just as easily use an example starring a level 35, 45 or 50. People just refuse to go to the hospital, because it is the responsibility of strangers to keep them on their feet, not thier own responsibility.
I call shenanigans.
The problem here is not confined to this one person, but is increasingly widespread amongst the population. I find myself ill-inclined to keep rezzing these people, even on an AT that can do it, because this enables their laziness and sense of entitlement. I usually do it anyways; but still.
This is not really a rant against one person. It is a hope that someone new, somewhere, will get the idea that perhaps this is NOT the thing to do. It may get one quietly one-starred; it certainly creates a bad impression and makes certain that I will not be adding the leecher to my friend-list.
That's it in a nutshell - this is not friendly behavior.

Not AE limited, of course, viz. the guy who faceplanted a few nights ago and stayed put asking for a wakie, in a Kings Row mission (so we were all lowish) not 50 yds from the hospital.

The cost of healthcare is completely outrageous right now. I can sympathize with people for not wanting to check into a hospital.

Had someone do the same in a skyway mission about 200yds from the hospital... but with the added stupid that the mission had completed, we'd cleared everything, and the team were now exiting.

Leader: Nah, he's just AFK a minute. We'll wait.
Bad: Wait, SG is calling me. Thanks for invite Leader, I've got to go. Good luck, people! *quit*

The core issue. Similar to those who only want TP taxibots when they're on a team. Some people seem too lazy to reach "mediocre".

Well it is hard to call a lvl 3 an AE baby, but I digress.
The only excuses outside of not understand how to go to the hospital are slow load times and possible the trip back to group. If the group did not clear each level/area or a patrol pops up, then we could have an issue, especially if no one has Recall available. Of course this all moot if the player does not tell you his concerns/issues.
Besides after a certain period of time of being dead you stop earning XP. Unlike regular mission the hospital is rarely very close as others have pointed out. In AE, unless you are near missions end or 5 npc's from leveling or cannot use inspiration/self rez because you are too close to the action you should retreat to recover and it is not is not a bad thing, especially if there is not other timely rez recourse.
Basically the slow load time is a reasonable excuse, but only if a rez is available or can inspiration be donated/combined. On top of have the team be aware of the load time issue and it has to be true.

If you think it's bad when people don't want to go to the hospital in an AE mission, imagine what it's like when you have one of those on a bank mission. You don't even need to zone to go to the hospital.

On a Safeguard, I just tell everyone to hosp.
On a Mayhem, if anyone hosps and it's not a full or near teamwipe I have to wonder if they're just stupid, because now we have to break them out. Why? Because they just split up the ambush that shows up with the boss that you have to clear to finish the mission.
it has gone from unconscionable to downright appalling that we have no way of measuring our characters' wetness.

About as useless as your last comment here.
Bad_Influence, I definitely understand your frustration. Although, I find that in cases where the player seems to be oblivious to others in team chat, sending a /tell usually has much better results. Unless of course they are too new to know how to reply.

Bad, I have to wonder if you had the level 3 version of a level 15 character I saw, even though I think we play on different servers. He was a level 15 character who laid there typing in all caps.
"HEALER, REZ PLEASE.
HEALER.
REZ PLS.
RES PLZ.
PLZ REZ.
HEALER."
It was so damn annoying. Then after being told to hosp or make his own wakie we all asked him what he needed to make one. He goes "How do you do that?" It makes my heart hurt so much to see players getting Power Leveled who dont know how to play the game. We explained how to create a wakie and he goes "REZ PLZ" I about lost it and wished I was lead so I could have booted his sorry [censored].

Have you been convinced that PLing to 20 wont get your characters rolled back? Or are you worried about that with these characters and doing it anyway?
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't feel a need to get to 50 in 30 minutes or whatever, so I doubt I will suffer a rollback. But never say never.... What I want to do is get past the levels of deepest pain on really hard-to-level-solo characters. MA allows me to do this.
For instance my Fire/kin is now level 24 and really just beginning to cook with fire. She is mostly an MA baby and I feel no guilt about it. She's just now seriously leaving the MA to see if its too late for her to get the O-portal in Faultline.
But if so, no biggie. She'll just wait till she's teamed with someone who has it.
