Solution for Farming
BRILLIANT!
With one addition, this could be awesome.
Let this be the case for a month, and then when all the farmers are settled and easily identifiable by their tags, the GMs can have one weekend of mass account-banning.

they wont ban people for making farms. and noone will mark them as such. get off this whole farming thing. the people who are totaly aginst farming and crying about it are the ones making the game less fun for everyone. stop trying to get people to play the way you want them to. they don't try to get you to play their way. and no one forces you to do those types of missions. enough is enough already.

No, but I'm forced to spend 15+ minutes looking for a damn mission in order to NOT do a farm in the AE. It's completely ridiculous.

They could just about unplug redside infinity then. Trying to institute punishment to discourage a rewarding behavior is not the better option.

I can easily find non-farm missions in the MA. And there are thread after thread of story focused arc reviews here on the forums.

Nope. You try finding a story-oriented MA mission that is short; you'll find it takes a disturbing amount of time to sort through the meows, farms, tests, badge farms, and similar.
No thank you.
I think I would like the play the game with less farming and not more.
Bye-bye.

hate to tell you but just because a arc is short doesnt mean that it is a farm. go ahead and try some out. some are just people publishing the first story they have to get feedback to see what would need to be changed. not to have their mission reported as a farm which seems to be what is happening. this exact thing happened to my arc mission that i had published to get feedback on the baddies in it. so now it is a 3 story arc in which you better bring friends cause you wont be able to solo. ah revenge is sweet. get off your high horse and realize that some people like short stories or that the whole story could be played out in 1 mission.

Punishing players for behavior, that was said to be punishable multiple times before they had a chance to do it, is to be expected.
Cheaters break the rules.
The DEVs have clearly stated repeatedly - the MA is not a farming or power-leveling tool. Players that use it as such will be punished by bans, account closures, etc.
I know that some of you can still act like you are blind to the fact that exploiting the MA obviously what is being done. There will be a stop put to it.
Is it really worth getting your account banned, suspended, characters deleted, etc.?
Farmers are pretty full of themselves these days and think that they are the core of the game and the majority of players.
Neither are the case.
Bye.

[/ QUOTE ]
First problem is right here. Except for basic things that the devs have no control over, like abusive and racist language in chat, there should be few to no rules in the game. If the devs don't want me doing something, it should be enforced programatically. If they want to encourage or discourage certain behaviors, they should do this through game design, not commandments. They should most certainly not give me a tool that, as part of its core functionality, gives me everything I need to engage in positively reinforced behaviors that they would like to discourage.

The dev's could clearly and repeatedly state that this forum is not a talking-about-CoX tool. It wouldn't change the fact that the forum is indeed used for that purpose.

You say exploiting, I say using. To me, an exploit is something like using a clipping error to get inside the geometry and become unhittable.Or gold duplication. Selecting predefined options from a dropdown that behave exactly as the devs expected is not an exploit.

Yes they will put a stop to it, but it's not the ban hammer that's going to be putting a stop to it. It's going to be the nerf hammer that's going to stop it.

Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.
Well reasoned post, problem is it will do about as much good as a well reasoned argument during Crystal Nacht, Samhein, or the bonfire of the vanities. The anti-farmers are enjoying being the south ends of northbound donkeys and they won't stop saying horribly stupid things untill the dust settles and everyone is worse off for where this has gone.

And you are clearly ignorant of the fact that not every player goes to the forums for these "clearly" stated declarations, nor are interested to visit the forums anyway since the 15 bucks they spend each month is primarily meant for playing the game.
Come to think of it, if it's such an issue for them, why hasn't an ingame announcement been implemented yet? Because you know, if I was the head-dev and I wanted to introduce a new rule regarding gameplay restrictions, I'd warn players ingame with a notice that tells them "DON'T DO THIS OR BAN!" upon joining a server. You see, that way if I want to ban some player for not following a rule, I have the excuse of saying "I've told you so already!", and not say "But I said so in the forums, specificaly in this section...and this post....go rummage for it."
That would be much more effective than the wonderful retroactive punishment idea.

Yet another brilliant connection made between the terms "Farming" and "Exploits."
RCO farms were obvious exploits, so were using enemies with no air-attacks. Those issues have been addressed and fixed.
If the devs want to neuter farming from the AE completely, say hello to AE ghost towns. All the farmers can go back to traditional farming stuff. Budding storytellers can play with their toy that never loses its shine.
Oh and since the design flaw of the MA makes it so that recently newly joined players do nothing but use the MA for farming/PL runs and avoid regular content completely, I wonder if they'll have any incentive to try out regular content at all if farming is completely stamped out of the AE. Who knows if they'll just leave for other games? That's what we need; more decreases in subscriptions.

Simple solution: Stop trying to fight them, and let people make all the farms they want. Then allow people to tag their mission as "Farm" or "not Farm". This will allow people to filter out farms if they don't want to see them, and everyone can play their own way and be easily able to find the types of missions they want.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, that's a good idea...it's been my attitude not only with MA but with BM farms.
But there are a lot of anti-farm trolls. Those kind of players aren't happy until their panties are in a wad. They are the same players that hate on pvp too. Which is OK, because, as a PvP'er myself, I know...I'd crush em in a duel or in an open zone fight.
But at the same time, I don't do the MA much any longer as I've found most of the missions really, REALLY boring. Unless the team chat is fun and lively, I do one mish and leave. Then I head back to RV and try to destroy stalkers (is there any other kind of villain to actually hate on?).

LOL the only way the devs will ever get rid of farms in MA, is they implement another round of reward/xp nerfs.
But they don't seem to be interested in reality
