I have a question:

Clamor, the Freakshow endboss for the Sister Psyche Task Force, was originally named Eve van Dorn. The real Countess Crey's birth name was Clarissa van Dorn. Any relation between the two?

Got some Rikti Questions for you, Manti.

Are the Rikti born looking human-- or Lost-like-- or are they born as lil Rikti? Is the process that transformed them from human to Rikti inherited or is it something that has to be repeated each generation?

Are there any native humans left on Rikti Earth? Approximately when did their transformation occur? (Found myself wondering the other day if they were already Rikti by Imperious' time or not ...)

And lastly, since the Rikti are from a parallel Earth, are any of them doubles for existing characters on Earth COX? (That is, would a Marcus Cole analogue or Steve Berry double exist as opposed to say a Rikti-Statesman or Rikti Synapse?)

Manticore,

There's a discussion going on over here that culminated in recommendation to x-post here.

http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=222954

Long and the short of it:

What sense can we make of Praetorian Infernal? Primal Earth got Infernal from Infernal Earth. Where did Praetorian Infernal come from? Is he the fusion of T'Keron and Valmaz, defected to Praetoria, and taken up the name of Infernal? Or is there a Bizarro Infernal Earth that this one came from?

Well done.

Here's a geography question for Manticore.

According to the game lore as cited on Paragon Wiki, the Children of Enos, presumably while summining Bat'Zul, caused a volcano to arise in the old Island of Grandville.

The result of this was the formation of four new smaller islands, listed as Grandville, Port Oakes, Bloody Bay, and Cap Au Diable.

The map provided with the City of Villains game, however, shows that Bloody Bay is Far Removed from the other collective islands:

So: which Islands were split apart by the volcano?

Also: is there a map showing us what the Rogue Isles used to look like?

Are we finally going to see Travel Power Suppression removed from the game by, say, November of 2010?

I have no idea if this thread is still being seen to or not, but I remembered it just as I was looking to find the appropriate red-name to send a PM to. There might even be a lore-wise player about.

Fusionette and the Nuclear 90; have they all got energy-based powers, or have some of them got radiation-based powers as well? Do we know of any one of these super-powered beings besides Fusionette? Is Fusionette's hair dyed to suit her 'quirky' personality, or is the blue hue a side-effect of her mutation?

These all may seem terribly trivial, but I'm looking to make one of these Nuclear 90 myself. I like to know as much about my characters as possible, and I felt odd not knowing whether my character would naturally have blue hair or not. So naturally, I can't start them yet and remain sane. They're on the back-burner for now, anyway.

Funny you should mention this, I actually rolled a Nuclear 90 Rad/DP defender on Virtue recently. I'm on her right now.

Anyway though, my personal view of the Nuclear 90 (so take it with a bag of salt and the worth of a hill of beans) is that the devs deliberately gave it to us as an open concept we, the players, can expand upon and was left open to interpretation.

Well, if this is still being read I have a couple of questions about cannon... Not sure if they weren´t already answered but.

The 2 books, The Web of Arachnos and The Freedom Phalanx are considered cannon? ´Cause they´re really great, honestly, and there are several characters that we have never seen in the book and would make great toons... I specially would really enjoy seeing Vambrace or Elementar.

And the comics? There are some stories in there that made to the game (or it was the other way around, not sure), but is everything there considered cannon?

And, finally, asking here after having already asked in the Marketing thread and not getting any answer, is it possible for us players to have access to this lore book of yours? Edit it and sell to us guys, LOTS would buy it... I believe that Virtue only would already make it worthy.

Edit: Cannon question already answered in the Answers Thread. Sorry, my bad... But I still want my Lore Hand Book!

Was just perusing the response thread to these questions, and there it states:

Quote:
Question: How old is Miss Liberty, Ms. Liberty's mother?
Answer: Miss Liberty aka Alexis Cole was born July 14, 1939. She inherited her father’s slow aging granted by his exposure to the Well of the Furies and because of that appears decades younger than her actual age.
That's the first time that I recall it being answered that Alexis ages at a slower rate than a normal person. Back when we had the first Christmas Event, there was an actual image of Miss Liberty as she appears now. I would say that she definitely looked younger than 65 (which would be her approximate age then) but definitely nowhere near as well preserved as her father.

How physically youthful is Miss Liberty now-- and if she's still at the prime of her strenght and powers, why isn't she an active super hero?

And is there any indication that Ms. Liberty will age more slowly than normal as well?

Will Rudolph Bein (Doctor Null), Caroline Rossdale (Shadow Queen), and/or Diego Alvarez (Revenant) be making appearances in the City of... games?

And as we're dealing with comic book Universes here, will we see the progeny of Manticore and Sister Psyche at some point?

Does anyone know how War Witches death fits into the timeline of Issue 5 "The Forrest of Dread"
Did she die first, then Croatoa came to be and then her spirit appeared as a trainer there?
Or did Croatoa exist before her death and she then died and came to reside there?

I am a contestant in the 2010 Fan Art Challenge over in the 606 (screenshot and fan art) forum and the theme this month is "Retcon"
(as in Retroactive Continuity or the undoing of events to tell the story a different way) and I am looking to possibly undo issue 5
(always wanted to anyways ) for my submission so the correct sequence of events of her
death and reappearance in relation to i5 would really help.
Thanks

What post was the last set of answers on? Backed up quite a bit without seeing it.

Where to find me after the end:
The Secret World - Arcadia - Shinzo
Rift - Faeblight - Bloodspeaker
LotRO - Gladden - Aranelion
STO - Holodeck - @Captain_Thiraas

Obviously, I don't care about NCSoft's forum rules, now.

For the last several updates, Manti has had Avatea simply edit the last post. I just check it out every so many weeks and clap my hands every time there is an update. Sometimes it's hard to tell where the old stuff stops and the new stuff begins, but most recently:

Question: How do the Consiglieres of the Family receive their gravity powers?
Answer: Over the years the Family has done a great deal of experimentation with Superadine. At a great cost they have been able to create small batches of the drug that eliminate unfortunate side effects produced by long term usage. They have also been able to create variations that grant a very specific subset of powers. These successful refinements are not known outside the upper circles of the Family. One such variation has allowed the Family to tailor the abilities of their Consigliere, providing their chief advisors all the power needed to back up their words of wisdom.

Question: Is the Lord of Frosts involved with the Winter events in any way?
Answer: The Lord of Frosts was the primary avatar of the ancient being of power known as the Winter Lord. After he finally killed Captain Volcano (who was himself an avatar of the Summer Lord) the Lord of Frosts was recalled to the Winter Lord’s frozen realm. So far during the recent winter assaults on Paragon City only minor avatars of the Winter Lord have appeared but much like any vanished villain, the Lord of Frosts could return someday to carry the Winter Lord’s banner of enmity against humanity.

Question: Are Janet Kellum the contact and Valerie Kellum the woman who became Valkyrie related?
Answer: Janet and Valerie are sisters. Their careers as an FBSA agent and archeologist took them in radically different directions. Since Valerie was injected with nanites when Crey tried to steal her greatest discovery, the two sisters have become reunited in one cause: taking down Crey. Janet’s love of her sister has motivated her to help the heroes of Paragon City in their attempts to finally bring Countess Crey to justice.

Question: What were Atlas Park and Galaxy City called before their names were changed to honor fallen heroes?
Answer: This has been answered elsewhere but one of the goals of this thread is to provide official and definitive answers about obscure or confusing points in the lore. Atlas Park used to be called City Park and Galaxy City was known as Paragon Heights Last edited by Avatea; 06-09-2010 at 06:03 PM.
That Consigliere question was only just recently asked. Cool beans.

Some Rogue Isle Questions:

1. What is Recluse's "official" title in the government of the Rogue Isles? Is it just "Lord" or "President for Life" or something like that?

2. What sort of currency do they use in the Rogue Isles? The US Dollar? The Euro? Recluseos? (It seems rather strange to me now that I think about it that Recluse wouldn't have his face pasted on the Rogue Equivalent of the dollar bill.

3. From the billboards I'm assuming that English is the official language of the Rogue Isles, but what would a native sound like to us? I.e., British, American English, Australian ... given its origins, do they use "arrrr" a lot?

Considering that it was originally settled by French emigres, and later moved to English-only with the influx of people (and languages) from all backgrounds, I've always expected the Etoile language to be one of English with a Etoile-specific accent and a sprinkling of native Etoile-specific words. I often think of African English.

Here's a Lore Question put forward by Offizier Jaeger: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?p=3044316

In the Dr. Khan task force the text from Tina Macintyre indicates that Reichsman has been actively kidnapping alternate dimension versions of Marcus Cole and sapping their powers.

The actual task force itself plays out a bit differently. The task force gives the indication that Reichsman is merely draining the power of his alternative selfs, not that he actually has physical possession of these other Marcus Coles.

Ergo: which is it? Does Reichsman actually managed to successfully kidnap the Primal Earth Statesman without anybody else noticing?

If Reichsman is actually abducting various alternative dimensional Marcus Coles, how did he get to them or find them to begin with?

Where is Reichsman storing these kidnapped Marcus Cole's anways?

The story Tina Tells just doesn't add up with what the player experiences.

* * *
The interaction of Reichsman with alternative dimensional selfs also raises another question: Was Reichsman draining power from the Praetorian Marcus Cole, aka Tyrant?

I really appreciate you bringing up my issue , but now I have another question about Reichsman. Exactly how did he take power over the 5th Column from Requiem? And what happened to Requiem afterwards?

The whole Fifth Axis of Council America's Earth Empire with robots, vampires, werewolves, and aliens employed by time traveling Nazis lead by negative-earth Americans is ludicrous. It could use some work, but I still adore it.

My question involves SPOILERS. DEAL WITH IT.

Down here.

MANTICORE! Why the heck is someone as powerful and influential as THE CENTER a simple errand runner in Praetoria? (I realize that several major CoH contacts are former heroes, but the man is more than human--it doesn't seem right for him to be handing out missions.)

I like to think there's just a hint of the French pirate accent in there as well.
