I'm Working on a 1-54 story arc called Circuit Breaker, but I Can't say if it's what you're looking for since it is BRIMMING with custom enemies. does anyone have any tips for making custom groups more fun and/or well rounded?
look for it this june!
it's gonna be a Blockbuster
(think Hal 9000 leading an army-cult of hackers in an attempt to take over the world.)

Regen secondary at standard really tones things down.

Also, the dominator assault sets give you a nice mix of range and melee attacks.

Minions with ANY control power sets make short work of lowbies.

Ex was nice enough to do that.

Okay, I'm about to run several arcs in this thread. Will give feedback (as usual) on each. I tend to avoid arcs with customs in them since it's such a crapshoot (they're usually WAY OP) but I'll make an exception this time.

It's intended for villains but 68054 - Out of the gutters seems to have gone down rather well.

2409 is playable by lowbies, but really intended for mid-teens.

#2409 - The Mystery of the MAGI vaults. Azuria has contacted you to help her stop the thefts from the MAGI vaults.
#68054 - Out of the gutters. Left for dead, you swore that you were through with being a victim (alt villain beginning story)

I decided to move to very long missions and just played one already mentioned here: #6017 Mercytown...

The context is villainous, but it is neutral if not heroic actions. First definite 5 I've played.

Mercytown is awesome!

No wonder I couldn't find my own topic... I was looking down and never noticed the pin.

I guess this makes it easier to find though.

"Speedy's Low Level Hero Training Service" is meant to be a FUN, creative way to level your new hero. I took a level 3 hereo from 3-10 in one run with a team of 6. It's a five mission arc, first being a mimmicked sewer run, second being an outdoor troll fight, third being a Lost "stop them from destroying that thing" mission, 4th introducing you to arachnos, and 5th being a custom group that is hilarious. It felt really balanced both times I played it with a team because the missions increasein difficulty as you level, and by the time you get to the custom NPCs everyone is aruond level 10 and can handle them. they aren't a blow off, but can be handled rather well if you work together. It makes for a fun run, and the premise is neat. The idea is this is some cheap, low budget company that promises to help new heroes gain the "influence, experience, and knowledge they need to be sme of Paragon's greatest heroes." The way it's written, though, it's like being trained by the Secretary of State and the DMV. ;-)

Also, as a nice touch, each missions completion clue is a "page from the Speedy's training manual" that explains some of the aspects from that mission for true new users. it covers things like ambushes, clues (how to find them), escorts, defeat alls, contacts, defeat bosses, how teaming effects difficulty, etc.

I'd say give it a try. Everyone on both of my teams loved it, and the second team had to break up after about an hour but three peopel wanted to stay just to see how it ends. It was worth it in the last mission. Lets just say "Speedy's" is trying to make you feel like your purchase made you truly heroic, and so they arrange a hilarious meeting with some b-grade actors playing the roles of various Coh peope.

I made a mission for new villains called "Sewer Surprise!" (Arc #83574)

I know there's already a few "villain sewer run" missions out there, but the goal of this one is to sneak into Paragon's sewers and attack a hero group doing their sewer run. I had fun creating a ton of custom heroes so hopefully you won't run into too many doubles.

This is a really good mission.

I especially like the look and bio of the Hero leader.

Great work!

As to arcs that are out there, this first one is a shameless plug, an single mission arc of mine designed for lowbies.

Arc ID: 1154 Low Tide

Played a TA Defender solo, from level 1 to 10 on test with this one, so I know its possible

[/ QUOTE ]

Started a new MA only toon today (Virtual Lad) and tried this one. Perfect starter mission. Interesting looking (using mobs other than standard Hellions and Skulls) and easy enough to do, while giving me a chance to get the feel of the powers (trying a couple of sets I haven't used before). And even a boss I really didn't have too tough a time with. Nice, reasonably short and sweet, and I ended up just a hair short of level three. Perfect for what it's designed for.

Dec out.

I have an arc 1-54 up. Have been keeping with adjustments as people have given feedback. Had some lower level soloers and teams run it. Does have custom mobs in it though.

#52387 Girl Scout Cookie Scheme
Good for solo, 3 missions. 20-30 minutes at most.

I have a level 1-14 villain arc named They Were Damned Anyway, heavily involving the Hellions.

Search "muu" to find it, easier than remembering a number.

I attempted to make my arc playable across all level ranges (tested it last night with a level 2 brute, even though it is hero oriented).

Missions 4 and 5 can be tough, but are definitely possible. All missions are objective based (ie, beat the bad guy, click the blinky, etc) with NO kill-alls, EB's, etc.

Due to trying to make extensive use of already existing templates/NPCs, some of the level ranges have some odd mixes of characters, but overall I am pretty happy with it. If you test it, please feel free to message me on the boards with any feedback.

Anyway, end of self-plug. The arc is in my sig.

Just published a 4-mission arc specifically intended for low-level heroes (levels 1-14).

Arc Name: The Other Heroes
Arc ID: 95788
Description: When Paragon's Mightiest aren't available to answer the call, it's up to the other heroes to foil an Arachnos invasion of Paragon and discover the secret behind this daring attack.

Enemies are Arachnos & Hydra, with a few cameos by Hellions and Vahzilok. There are no custom groups and just one custom boss (3rd mission) that I tried to keep toned down for low levels.

It's moderately tongue-in-cheek and flirts with the fourth wall a bit. But isn't overly-silly (I hope).

The title is inspired by the Stargate episode "The Other Guys".

My 1st arc uses 5th Column as the basic group with custom bosses added in. I have only tested with duo'ed 25s and a solo 50 so not sure how tough it is at low level overall... but the 1st mish of the arc is a Defeat Boss to complete so it would be good to farm that a few times before continuing.

My 2nd arc is NOT lowbie friendly since I used a custom group for that one (Mad Scientists 4 Hire) but if you ever wanted to be on the side of Longbow during the tutorial villain Breakout then here's your chance .

My 50s:
Prime Minister MA/SR Scrap - Protector
Captain Hit-Guy DM/Reg Scrap - Freedom
Prime-Minister ILL/TA Troller - Freedom
Ultimate Minister Inv/SS Tanker - Freedom

Nice work on 95788!

I played it through on a level 14 scrapper, a lvl 10 blaster, and a lvl 1 controller. All were successful. The pacing was right on, and I threw the lvl 1 at it thinking it would break on the warehouse piece, but nope.

Especially nice touch on the destructibles giving the call for backup as a heads up to be ready for an ambush.

This is a story that I wanted to give to City of Heroes for the number of years I've played here. I hope everyone enjoys the story. The custom group -- The Shadow Fugue -- is actually taken from a short story I wrote outside of City of Heroes for some friends a few years ago. I hope you enjoy the story, and make it popular! I'd love to continue the arc with Part Two! Thank you for your patience, and your time!
