I cannot wait for this! I thought the MA was going to be far more primitive than stated in this thread and I was already losing sleep over it.. Now I am impatient, I want it NAO! RAAAA

I must make a overly complex and easily escapable trap for you heroes! Ultimately ending in 'Defeat Captain Ambush'.. My [censored] kicking will be immortalized for an eternity within the archives of the architect database!

P.S. Please be gentle

Can the cross-server function of MA be applied to converging Arena PvP?

3. What rewards are we giving to the players and creators?

We’re granting full experience (XP) and influence rewards for defeating enemies in player made content. We’re also giving players tickets in place of random drops. They can take these tickets to an Architect ticket vendor and redeem them for various in game rewards, such as enhancements, recipes and salvage. We’re also allowing players to purchase unlockable content with their tickets. They’ll be able to get maps, costume pieces and different characters.

Hope that helps.

Story Arcs I created:

Every Rose: (#17702) Villainous vs Legacy Chain. Forget Arachnos, join the CoT!

Cosplay Madness!: (#3643) Neutral vs Custom Foes. Heroes at a pop culture convention!

Kiss Hello Goodbye: (#156389) Heroic vs Custom Foes. Film Noir/Hardboiled detective adventure!

No... it wasn't a rewards question... it was more of a tech question.

Am I reading this right that we will be able to play with people from other servers on either side?

That could solve a lot of the complaints from people on low pop serves who don't want to move.

3 story arcs per account seems low. I thought it was 3 per character.

It's low if you don't mind infinite lag and the crashing of the servers.

And its 3 PUBLISHED arcs. You can have infinite amount of unpublished ones.

Flameboxer Aura LVL 50 SS/Fire Brute

Is there a limit to how many AVs/EBs can be in a mission?

We really need someone to make a post with all the questions answered on I14 already.

A few more questions though.

How detailed is enemy placement? Can i pick a spot and place a malta sapper, a rikiti monkey, and a Master Illusionist?

Can you modify the powerset of every enemy? Can I make one freakshow tank have invuln and healing, and have another freakshow tank have Fireblast and Super Reflexes? Or make radioactive monkies that fire radiation blasts?

They are probably merits, but have different tables. AKA maybe recipes for temp powers thru architecht, instead of thru drops.

Or possibly it would be cool if you could unlock recipes for temp powers and then grant them to people while they are doing your mission.

You read that wrong. The published stories in the MA are cross server and cross faction. Anyone character can run any mission on any server. BUT teamplay and the like is still the same. That is, you can still only team with players on the same game server that you are logged into.

And what said that it's 3 publishing slots only. It's not a technical limitation. (At least I hope not; otherwise, pohsyb and I will some "discussions" ). Maybe one can earn more slots as rewards?

I'm hoping the 3 slots is like marketplace. Where you can unlock more, perhaps creating 5 highly rated arcs gets you an extra published spot.

This way you reward people who make good content.

From the Dev Digest, Answers, paraphrased.

Yes, you can has AVs.

Yes, your AVs will scale by mission difficulty.

No current plans to let you buy more published arcs.

If an arc unpublishes during play, you finish it.

25 different objectives per mission, you can have more total objectives.

Destructible and defendable objects available.

Arcs can be co-op.

NPC allies reduce your rewards.

You earn a ticket bonus instead of an xp bonus at end of mission.

You can mix custom critters and existing ones.

You can unpublish and republish within seconds.

You can purchase unlockables for your missions. You can have multiple different critters of the same rank.

You will have context sensitive dialogue options.

You can save and swap costumes from the editor.

You will need to unlock some factions before use.

No translucency options.

Level scaling is complicated.

Pohsyb is crazy.

No built in support for sharing arcs. The MArc missions may or may not be 'real'.

The Marc will not affect defeat badges. Arcs will not branch upon release, no temp powers issuable by arcs upon release.

You cannot have the Hamidon as a Contact.

Republishes will not affect ratings.

The same MArc tickets are earned from playing missions as from others playing your missions. You can abandon MArc missions without penalty. One Contact per arc. You can't quite give any powers you want to critters.

You can't manipulate the lighting...yet. Missions published by an inactive player stick around.

'All servers' means 'all servers'.

Yes, you can has souvenirs. No npc chatter about your arcs. Mission Entrances easily found.

Ahh thanks. I can see the technical limitation thing.

Does "the same game server that you are logged into" mean blue and red? (I understand we may not know this stuff yet)
edit: NM....we do know.

No.

If I publish an arc on a character on, say, Pinnacle, you don't have to be on Pinnacle to play it - just like you don't have to be on Pinnacle to bid on what my character puts on the market.

However, if you're on Justice, you can't team with my Pinnacle character and someone from Virtue - only other people on Justice.

(edit) It is nice to see that NC Soft has lifted its cone of silence about some of the details for this game.

I liked this tidbit: [ QUOTE ]
So you can create an enjoyable storyline, but how simple is it to use? I sat down with an idea in mind ("Be all that you can be," where Statesman says I have a mere 15 minutes before Stallin' (get it?) releases a terrifying T-34 attack on Paragon City. I had my first mission built in about 20 minutes, complete with an ambush halfway through the boss fight by the ghostly Lenin. With a little more time maybe I could have changed Lenin to Lennon, the ghostly guitar-wielding hippy whose ally, Yoko Ono, attacks you with what she calls her Beatle-breaker - but now I'm probably getting carried away. The fun thing is that you could do this and more; it's possible to prototype something in fifteen minutes (as I did, using the Spetznaz villain group instead of custom enemies and characters) and spend days tweaking and testing something until you have something incredibly fun to play.

Are the 10 Ton Hammer guys fanboyish, or do you think he's keeping it real?

Another question about Mission Maps. There are a few missions that have more than one map. Example: In the Faultline Arcs you go through the sewer and then to an outdoor area where you have to blow up a sub to stop the Night Widow.

Will we be able to link maps like this?

Posted

Transitions from map to map will not be in at release. However, the specific map you refer to might be actually a single map that would be available.

I am going to second another poster's question and ask if we can create PVP missions as well? It would be an interesting way of incorperating the PVP system and help creating some epic PVP conflict stories.
