Detention Field is num. 1 on my list because a bubbler can perma phase an AV/GM.

I should know, I used the funny power several times during the i15 event on the test server

Remember how Tub Ci lived so long?

Annoying powers? lol I rolled an energy/storm cor. Called it Ping Pong. Teams pretty much hate every power I have. some how I've made it to lvl 36 tho.

annoying powers?

Hasten is the most annoying power to me. The noise it makes on activation is strange and kinda painful and the hand-glows don't go with many characters.

... OH! You mean annoying to _others_. i see. I vote for that kin power that flings dumpsters at enemies, thereby altering line of sight and blocking smaller hallways occasionally.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not to mention the hasten sound effect going off again everytime you use a power with a pet or pet effect. Drove me crazy on my illusion controller since blinds worthless 3' radius sleep counts as a "pet". Got to hear hasten's sound effect go off every 5 seconds.

One of the most annoying? Bonfire. I played with a fire troller once who wanted us to pull the baddies onto a bonfire, I quickly disagreed, he then quit the team lol.

Bonfire is AWESOME! I used it one time.

once.

Will never use it again, but MAN was it cool

Also, Group Fly/Group Energy Flight.

[/ QUOTE ]

I was helping someone with a Patron Mish where you had to defeat some AVs in a cave full of some baddies that use Tornado. I was playing a Rad/Rad corr that normally is ONLY played on an SG team with real life friends, so his powerpicks were deviantly min/maxed for the specific team. He had group fly and another team mate had team tp, so that we could cart the team around (the other two ppl didn't have travel powers).

Any rate, the fight was going poorly because we couldn't sustain DPS on the AV, and he was summoning summons that summoned tornados, and everything non-tough was getting knocked silly. People started dying and it looked like we were going to fail. Then I thought, "hey I can turn on group fly and mitigate a ton of this kb", so I threw the idea out there, and the team leader liked it. I enabled group fly, and basically stopped attacking (due to the horrendous end consumption), and the team regrouped and quickly overcame the AV. The end result is that Group Fly was totally key in defeating that foe, given our party composition. I was pleasantly surprised.

[/ QUOTE ]

let me get this straight, your recomendation is that someone so lame he can't solo his own patron arc liked it?

The more people I meet, the more I'm beginning to root for the zombies.

Neither of these things actually happens. Physics objects have no effect on line of sight and can't block anything.

Annoying Powers?

Quills. Hands down, quills. thbt! thbt! thbt! thbt!

You're at WW for cripes sakes, there ARE no mobs here for you to aoe. toggle off, dudes. toggle off!

Any power with an aoe graphics or sound should really be turned off in safe areas like WW/BM, the tailor, trainers, etc. Please think of others, eh?

(Yes, my grav/ff turns off all his big bubbles when i'm not in a mission or travelling in dangerous places. Yes, my spines/regen scrapper turns off her quills whenever she's not fighting. Even between mobs in missions, sometimes! My plant/storm doesn't stand at WW with steamy mist on. Please, for the Love of the Lamb, toggle off ladies, gents, and scoundrels all.)

Team TP. Had somone take this power after 7 people told them not to. TPd us all up in the air and then ran out of endurance. We fall to the ground into a big spawn, loose most of our health bar when we hit and then many of us die from the mobs. Boot.

Caltrops, Ice storm or rain of fire - Anything that causes a nice tight group of mobs to scatter everywhere. Now if you have somehting that either slows them down to the point where they seem to be in granite form or held, then those powers rock.

This barely made the cut for this Hall of Infame. Sure, a tanker might get freaked out when their fully slotted for Acc powers don't work on the boss you just "bubbled", but this is a very useful power for defense.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is one of my most useful powers, especially when splitting the Boss from the minions and controlling the flow of aggro. I really don't see how it is an annoying power. At times its a must.

As a 50 Tanker and an upcoming Scrapper, I can personally say that bad Energy Blasters are -extremely- annoying.

Especially for gathering aggro as a Tank. There's nothing more annoying than jumping into the heart of a mob, throwing down my AoEs to secure some aggro before the controllers lock down the mob into a tight group, only to be interrupted by an eager Energy blaster that throws his protons in the center of the mob and sends all the baddies flying in every direction.

Uggggghhhhhhh.

I have to add a mention here for Fallout from the radiation set. I admit that is can be very useful in the right situation but I dislike the idea of a power that I can only use when an ally dies.

Hm, this could be the perfect choice for playing with those people who don't know what their doing.

[/ QUOTE ]Don't think of it as a power that you can only use if an ally dies. Think of it as a supplement to Mutation. I have it bound to a key...

/bind numpad0 "targetcustomnext friend defeated$$powexecname Fallout$$powexecauto Mutation"

This targets the nearest dead ally, fires Fallout, and puts Mutation on auto so that it fires as soon as Fallout is finished. (I have shift+numpad0 bound to "powexecabort" to cancel the auto.)

I refer to it as my boomrez.

It's annoying when your /force buddy didn't tell you that he bubbled the boss, so you're pounding on him and seeing "UNAFFECTED... UNAFFECTED..."

Team TP is one of the best powers I have on my MM. Of course I only TP onto flat surfaces, NOT up into the air!

It's nice to be able to put your own little team of pets exactly where you want them on the map. Bringing other teammates along for the ride is merely a side benefit.

team tp into broken graphics ftw?

Increase Density on a granite tank?

pulling with fire ball?

tking the boss AWAY from the granite brute while not sbing him?

Putting the tank on follow with force bubble on?

Perma caging the last enemy on a defeat all mish with a sonic bubble or det bubble?

Wormholing a group away from the tank?

Killing the debuff/trans- targets?

Sonic Repulsion on the main tank?

Tp foe'ing the last foe on a defeat all away from the group?

Bad/annoying powers are only bad/annoying when used incorrectly; using repel on a kin to help a tank herd isnt annoying.. repel nuking ftw

You dislike it -ok. But what exactly qualifies it as "Annoying"? The person who died was going to die anyway (unless they died on purpose - I've seen it happen), and the rest of the team can get a Big Buff from it.

I guess the annoyance factor comes from the fact that I seem to find teams that either
1. Don't die
2. Self rez before their bodies hit the floor.
3. Hospital before the body hits the floor

Also, it annoys me a bit that a power that requires an ally to die (not counting rez powers) is taking up a spot in the powerset. I agree that it can be a big group buff but maybe something else could have been put there.
These might seem like minor points but "annoying" is a subjective condition.

Seems like it the people that you want to use it on or the fact that you don't get to use it enough that annoy you more than the power itself - which to me means that you actualyl DO like the power. :-)

Just be sure they know about it several times .. and don't always wait to use it for everyone to be around .. get a few of them with it, let them see how good it is, then they'll encourage the others to use it too.

I wish it would go off automatically if you died, but .. that would be abused ;-)

Neither of these things actually happens. Physics objects have no effect on line of sight and can't block anything.

[/ QUOTE ]

i hate to argue, but it does happen. maybe the line of site thing doesn't, but you definitely have to push those large objects, and they can and do get wedged sometimes in the hallways.

also, good point whoever pointed out that its gravity, not kin that does that.
