Discussion: Comic Con - San Diego July 23-27th
Did you guys convince David Nakayama to hang out for a bit again this year?
I will definitely be there, all 4 days of course. My birthday's the 27th. So there better be (wheat and dairy free) cake.

So many more people discussing pax over comic con! Well, we're going to both. Haven't been to the Con since '00. What's new? Is there a CoX meet/greet?
New.... at San Diego?
About 50,000 people more than when you last visited it.

If I see you amongst that massive crowd I'll wish you a Happy Birthday.
I'll be traveling all the way from Atlanta for this one. My first con EVER! Look forward to seeing some City of * folks there.

Oh goodness. We're gonna spoil you or scare you off o.0
Seriously: 125k people, if you aren't ready for crowded areas. Bring your own water, food or whatnot, because it's hella expensive (though there are places around to shop for supplies as well as restaurants, the convention center's food while pretty good is really expensive). Be prepared for a lot of walking. A LOT. The building itself is just shy of 7 blocks long inside, and that's just the floor. There are 2 more floors of game rooms, discussion panels, exhibits and such, anime, movies, etc.

EX?
Is the NC / COH booth going to be in the same approximate place this year as it was last year?

I'll also add, GET YOUR TICKETS NOW.
Don't wait until you show up in San Diego.
In 2006 they sold out for Saturday. 2007, only Thursday WASN'T sold out. It's also cheaper to get it early.
NCIS: Best gorram show in the 'verse.
-------------------------
I got my tickets last month. I'm ready for some distance walking.
Something you must know now:
NO ONSITE BADGES ARE SOLD any longer!
They've apparently been so sold out these last 2 years, they really don't have room for lineup and standing-room only people. So get on those tickets and accomodations TODAY.

Well then, guess it was a good idea to get mine last year.

I will be there, but think this will be the first time in a long time I wont be there all five days.
Will be there preview, Thursday and maybe Friday. Might have to go out of town on Saturday.
I'll be there, even started my own thread 'cause I didn't see this one So I guess the question is, where to meet, drink, and be merry?
-------------
Dwarf Star; Angel-Night, Adoniel, angel of the 12th hour of the night; among the many
Freedom Factor
and now from Warhammer Online, Gorlok, Greenskin shaman

Would be happy to provide suggestions. I live about 5 mins from the convention center and I work right down the street.
Padres are on the road the weekend of Con, so that will eliminate a lot of the crowd downtown. It is Con though, which is always crazy.

Thank goodness for that. The last time they were having games, it was *horrible*. All the free parking on Sunday was blocked off - for absolutely no reason other than "you don't get to see the Padres without parking fees" ... :/ Of course that was also the year I had my e coli infection and had to WALK TO THE CON from about 7 blocks away. *sucks*. So, good. No Pads.

You live in Atlanta and have never gone to Dragon*Con? I'll be attending all nine days of SDCC and Dragon*Con this year. I'd be willing to try to make it to a CoX meet and greet, but with all the activities jammed into that weekend, I can't guarantee anything.
Will there be an official NCSoft presence/booth at San Diego? I noticed it's listed on the official CoX calendar, so I'm hoping. And if so, since SDCC is all about exclusives, there should be an exclusive DVD available at the NCSoft booth that gives the attendee a "Comic Book Geek" badge or some such.

There should be, there has been the last few years. Comps set up with different games.
Last year David Nakiyama was there doing free drawings of your character if you brought in a picture. Hobo Healer drawing.
They also had other goodies.

Sweet!
I've been going to SDCC off-and-on since '97, but I only started playing CoX this January, so I never paid attention to the video game booths. That'd be very cool to get a sketch of one of my characters.

Latest rumor is that Barack Obama is going to make an appearance at Comic-Con.

That would be awesome, but I somehow doubt it. It would be damn cool if he did though, especially if he showed up in costume.

I doubt it too, but it is out there. (Was even mentioned in the May issue of Wired Magazine.)
Plenty of other hawt starz have appeared, it wouldn't be the first time someone in politics showed up.
Case in point, the Governator.
