Discussion: Comic Con - San Diego July 23-27th

If we're not able to get to the booth til Saturday, will we still be able to get passes to the party or are we SOL?

Also just a thought for other folks attending the Con... I'm planning on putting together like some one page sheets with screenshots and barebones information for a couple of my characters. I'll see if I can hit up some of the folks on artist alley for commisions, and I'll have something to hand them.

My niece had this brilliant idea last year. I think she spent all of her Con spending money on commisioned artwork of her CoH character.

anachrodragon, I was considering doing something like this myself since I'm usually in AA buying commissions anyway. Is there any chance you could post an example of what your niece put together since it soulds like she had gerat success with whatever she used?

I think hers last year was pretty simple, probably just some screenshots. I can imagine her getting all animated describing the character to the artists though: "She's an ancient princess with HORNS AND CLAWS! And she's really short but she KICKS BUTT!"

Here's what I'll probably do: find some good screenshots and then describe some features that the screenshots don't quite cover. Not like a character bio, but things like typical facial expressions, eye color, other prominent features.

Like for my brute I'd say he has angry eyebrows, green eyes, a scar across one eye (but it doesn't have to look the same as the in-game scar), an atheletic build but not muscle-bound.

I'll post mine when I get around to doing it.

We'll hold a certain number to pass out daily, although if you communicate with me on your needs I can certainly set aside passes for you.

Cool. I was too slow and missed the 4 day pass so I bought one for Saturday. Im gonna try to see if I can buy one for Friday as well.
I was just worried that because of that I might miss out on a chance to meet and greet and drink with fellow CoXers.

Unfortunately, for the first time in 10 years I have to skip Comic-Con this year. Something has come up and I will need to leave San Diego that weekend.

I wish I could go... But because I started my new job I have no vacation time saved, so I can't afford to miss work.

And it doesn't help that my BOSS is going to the 'con! ARGH!

I will be there. I going there for other reasons but there is no way I am missing the CoX booth.
First con for me aswell, just like several others in this thread.
Last time I went to something was for the O.C. meet and greet and I went there from Arizona.

Congrats!

My husband and I will be celebrating our 8th anniversary at the Con this year. We got married in San Diego and spent our honeymoon at the con shortly thereafter.

NO I'm going to Origins Game Fair Convention link , where I'll be running Championss the role playing game 5th ed. You guys should be there its like GEN CON except in Ohio.

I'll miss you guys. I wish I could be there with you all. Have Fun Ex and the NCsoft crew. Those who go will have a blast.

Four day passes and Saturday passes for Comic Con have been sold out. There are still passes for Thursday, Friday and Sunday, but don't expect them to last long. Friday is going fast.

My sister had her wedding during Comic-Con, and understood when I didn't make it. Of course, the fact that I'm the only one in the family who goes back east to see her every year helps to make up for it. Not completely, though, as I'm also hitting Gen Con on that trip as well.
