Uhm, I think I will be turning off visual sounds as soon as its deployed.
Anyhow, if imagination was so great, I could just imagine I was a superhero and never pay the 14.95 subscription fee again...

OMG this has to be the BEST April Fool's joke!
1st, because i took the hook, then reread it, and the new I12 title tipped me off. Looked at calendar; yep, April 1st. Kudos!
2nd, I go to the forums with popcorn in hand wanting to see the incredible show that was to come; I haven't laughed this hard in months!! A lot of folks TRULY believe this is to be a new feature!
3rd, The April Fool's joke BACKFIRED on the devs; people want it!!! THis is priceless!!! This is simply too much!!! My cheeks are hurting from smiling and laughing at this!!! OMG, this is epic!!!
4th, CoH make it into Wikipedia for our April Fool's tomfoolery!!
Devs, you get a MAJOR gold star and kudos for this! I just truly hope you are ready to deal with the posters who actually WANT this feature!!! LOL!!!

Was just thinking...how horrible would it be to play with a PB like this? Every single attack, you'd only see a screen-filling "FOGHOOOORN!!!" or what about SB'd Claw/SRs? Row upon row of "SNIKT!"
The more I think about it, the more I'd love to see a joke version of this with real gameplay footage.

I hate it when developers remove parts of games that you enjoy, and try to sell you on what "they think" is a great idea. IT"S NOT!
Being able to "toggle" on and off the new visual sound effects banners is fine, but why force me to have "No Sound at All".
Thats like going to an action movie in a theater, and wearing ear plugs.

Why not make the game black and white to...then it really will be "Silent Cinema". *sarcasm*

What would've been really evil, is if they'd put a freakin' gigabyte-sized patch on Test, and blocked people from logging in, all Closed-Beta style.
That one gig of new data? Anyone who broke the NDA by going pigg-diving would discover that it was nothing more than a massive .txt file saying "You've been owned" over and over again.
That's what I would've done. Then, I'd get fired.

Hrmf....I appreciate the effort to celebrate this holiday, but really....this the best you could do? Perhaps I'm just jaded. After all, with a birthday on April 1st, you get used to this kind of thing. Fell for it until the end of the article where it said why bother with the sounds? lol nice joke. Here's the sad bit though... I would absolutely LOVE to have visual sounds in the game. I would give up my anime styled costume ooptions for it in fact, lol.
