Ultimus' TankMage Mastermind -- List of AV's OWNED
Melee-centric AVs are super-easy with traps: web spam can pretty easily lock most of them down. Then you can read a book while your minions wipe the floor with them.
So I just beat my first AV solo. Ice Mistral. It would've gone alot smoother if I'd wiped out those damn mu strikers beforehand. I got one death due to them sapping my end all the time.
Awesome, I just soloed Barracuda at level 28 as an AV
This is what I did,
I went and defeated the rest of the mission, including Metal Shift, an EB
I went to the place where I knew Barracuda was,
She spotted me and I went "OH ****"
I put my pets on passive so they would follow me up the steps,
I put the on Defensive when I got to her and poped 2 purple pills (which btw Ultimus, it is a good idea to pop 2 purples instead of 3 even though you have more space so it lasts longer)
I realized she had cones and then moved to the other side of her away from my pets and used provoke while using Seeker Drones, Acid Mortar, Poison Trap, Aid Other and Aid Self throught the battle. By the time I got to this I was settled into the battle and stopped jumping in my seat when she was at half health
I kept popping in Purple pills and using my Traps except for web grenade because it was depeleting my end for no good reason as my ASSBOT won't be getting it's missles for 4 more levels (OMG, ONLY 4 MORE LEVELS!!)
Sometime during this I let me Assault Bot tank for a bit for the fun of it
She Eventually died..
..and finally, I did the Cabbage Patch
That was a good read on what heroes you downed. I tried EB with my zombie dark mm but kept getting wiped by Mynks. Stupid me forgot the debuff power and havent re-rolled my char. Great job on the solos. I should try the defensive mode.
I recently had two really good experiences with AV's/Heroes that I soloed.
Numina:
I took her out with my Necro/Dark, on the second try. First try, I summoned her by the glowie, then got surprised after she summoned by some Spec-Ops. After a trip to the hospital, she was at full health, but still had the Achilles' Heel debuff, which meant she was mine for the taking
I summoned my Dark Servant directly on top of her, and then moved my pets in to melee, and they went to town. Hell, I barely had to keep my pets healed. The Dark Servant did that all by his lonesome! All that -ToHit kept my pets nice and safe.
Question, though.... does Dark Servant's Twilight Grasp have the -regen component attatched to it?
Dr. Quatrexin:
My Bots/Traps had little trouble taking out this pansy. I hadn't really tried to solo anything higher than an EB, cause I wasn't sure of my tactics.
He was around the corner, so I set up roughly 10 trip mines, two Poison Traps, and topped it off with 2 acid mortars before I finally pulled with Seeker Drones.
He came around the corner, proceeded to puke his guts up, and was perma-immobilized. Between the FF: +Recharge in my Assault Bot and the Achilles' Heel in my Acid Mortar, he went down with a quickness.
My Ninjas/Dark hasn't had NEAR the success, even with Dark Servant. But, then again, Serafina's somewhat of a stupid-face, though.
Always up for teaming with good players, so hit me up: @Deceivius and @Deceivius2

[/ QUOTE ] Awsome Info, that helped alot
To tell you the truth I have not really ever put down traps and then pulled, I just went with Seekers and put the poisons traps underneath her feet, and kept doing that, perhaps I should try and do that.
btw, Aurora Borealis is down for the count too
nah, pullin the AV/hero into your traps is better than chasing them down for your traps. i love doing it in the longbow/science lab areas where the ceilings are low and the halls narrow, that way i can get them locked in a doorway by double stacking caltrops in front and behind them.

Generic IO's don't cost much. They are cheap to build too. I don't use set IO's until after 35.
Here's how my power selection went up to 24:
1) Bots/WebGrenade
2) Caltrops
4) Triage
6) Upgrade
8) Hasten
10) Acid Mortar
12) Prot Bot
14) Swift
16) FFG
18) Health
20) Stamina
22) Poison Gas
24) Super Speed
If you want to solo AV's at this level, you need to follow this build. Without Hasten and Stamina you won't stand a chance.
And someone will come in here and said they did it without this build -- Good for you, but I am min/maxing.

Thanks for posting this, Ultimus. Is there any chance you could finish up listing the order in which you selected your powers? Thank you!
maybe it's just the the time you took the screenshots, but...Luminary gives the most XP out of all those Heroes/AVs from what's shown <.< don't really pay attention to mish bonuses...but that's what it seems like in comparison
seems like post-30 the XP from them skyrockets to those in the 20's except for BaB's and Infernal
I took out the Vindicators yesterday at 46 on Abyss's arc. Took out Mynx & Lumi first, separately, without too much trouble. Then actually took out Ms. Liberty pretty quick relative to the previous mission where it took *forever* to bring her down (she keeps using Unstoppable). Then it was Valkyrie -- slow to bring down the first time, but I got her. Mish completes. And then she rezzes. So I'm like, OK, what the hell -- down to like 1-2 small purples and 1 heal. So I start fighting her again, use Gang War to keep her occupied as I reposition Poison Trap etc. It's a tough, long fight waiting for her Tier 9 to wear off. I put down one final trip mine but it's too far away from her. She nails me with a ranged attack, I die, pets dissapear, and simultaneously as she takes a step closer to my corpse the trip mine goes off and knocks down her last health sliver. She dies. Woohoo. Fun times
This is on my Thugs/Traps.

possibly you kept her held/choking w/ the poison trap so she couldn't use US?
This is for Atomic Termite.
Lord Recluse (as AV) died to my Bots/Traps on Triumph...after 5 tries.
Sapping is cheap

I got some cool ones from Viridian's Arc where I wiped out all the council AV leaders.

I had a REALLY hard time against Nosferatu. That siphon life or whatever power kept going right through the 45% def I've got on my thugs, and I just couldn't take him. I'll try again tonight and see if I can maybe keep the pets out of its range.
The first 2 went down pretty easy though. That's a really awesome arc.
Also, is there any clear indication as to exactly what is happening to Poison Trap? Chance to proc been lowered to 1s as opposed to .25s, but chance to proc increased slighty...huh?

Great job Ultimus! I go away for awhile, come back, and find you slaughtering Giant Monsters. Truly excellent stuff! Lord Recluse might not have been your toughest opponent but I thought the pics of you killing him looked the best
OK on to the haters.... This is a game, it's about having fun. Ultimus is having fun doing what he's doing, and lots of people enjoy reading about it. Seriously, I don't get the problem here.
People on these forums compliment each other all the time for PvP accomplishments, collecting badges, role-playing, posting fan art etc. Ultimus is playing a super hero/villain game and beating up the major characters. He posts about it here with some pics and some spiffy captions and creates his own comic book of sorts. Good stuff all around. Again, I don't see what the problem is.
Haters, like tweekers, suck

Ultimus still needs to solo the LRSF. Then and only then will he beat Peace_On_Earth (who I don't believe has solo'd the equivalent hero-side TF -- yet).

I tried soloing the RSF on my tricked out Thugs/Traps/Mace without nukes or shivans. The first mish actually went better than I thought it would, even with 4 LB EBs running around. Soloing the Kronos Titan sure took a while, and when it was at about 1/4 health he got lucky with several foot stomps and killed my pets faster than I could bring them out, so I had to back off and regroup. Slinger was a cinch.
Then I hit the 3rd mish, and a giant brick wall called BaBs, Sister Psyche, and Numina. Try as I might, I didn't have the tools necessary to pull just one. If I could've taken those jokers on 1 vs 1, I'd feel pretty good about my ability to just crush them, but 3 at once?
lol Not a chance. For me, anyway.
Hmm, just thought...maybe hit them with -fly on their way up to the globe to keep them from dog-piling on me? That'll be a lot more effort and timing than the *yawn* battles I tend to have. Why didn't I think of that before?
*Runs off to try soloing another RSF*

Uhh..what about a duo of villains beating RSF? Would that be considered impressive? Not that I have done such a thing...
You may be able to solo it with temp powers the LRSF
There's no real problem. Its simply that many players have accomplished these feats and none have bothered to post about it.
You should try beating some of these guys with the new nerfed poison trap. Not the awesome killing machine it once was, so if you can't do it again, then you're just a retired old hack now. Not an attack, but what seems to be a key part of your tactics has lost all relevancy post-I 12 so if you can't do it now, you're 'tankmage' ain't a 'tankmage' now.
Level 22 Robo/Traps MM, 2 days ago, Silver Mantis (Cage arc, AV version). Side note: My first AV soloed.
Easy win, just a bit drawn out. Her area-spines and caltrops plus my idiotic non-use of Triage Beacon meant I had to resummon 3 t1 and 3 t2 pets during the fight. The -regen on poison trap was the critical component, not the puking (which I never saw her do).
I ate two small end inspirations but wouldn't have had to if I hadn't gotten too excited and overspammed web grenade in the early stages of the fight.
I believe that Ultimus wouldn't even have to look at the screen to beat this one, and probably a number of others. Poison Trap's puking was far from the only tool at his disposal before, and you'll have to recall that /dark makes just as good an AV killer with no access of any kind to a puke-inducer.
Edit:
After some thought, I think the messy execution may be due to not waiting til 24, when I would've gotten a second protector bot. This hypothesis would well explain the fact that my single, relatively defenseless (no protbot bubble, noone to repair) protector bot died 3 times during the fight.
And my own moment of glory: Soloing two new (i12) Heroes I knew nothing about beforehand.
Me:
Inara Verdi, level 23 Bots/Traps Mastermind
The Mission:
Take out two Midnighters (first mission, Darrin Wade arc)
The Heroes:
Level 25: Sigil <Generic Heroes> (behaves like an energy/energy blaster)
Level 25: Kadabra Kill <Generic Heroes> (behaves like a grav/kin controller)
Got em before Ultimus could (to my knowledge). Sigil was easy, Kadabra was a [RAWR] and killed me twice before I figured him out. Kadabra must've been annoyed that I killed his wife, I guess.
I'll think about screenshots later, right now is time for sleep.
Pretty sure Ultimus doesn't care about his Mastermind braggarting any more. He's moved on.

I tried to solo Silver Mantis as I just hit level 24 and did a pretty good job, even though I didn't beat her I still got her to half health
by the time I had to get off, I recongized all my mistakes
1.
Q: Why did I keep running out of endurance?
A: I had Sprint AND Super Jump on at the same time
2.
Q: Why couldn't I tank her at this level?
A: I didn't use any lucks during the fight
3.
Q: Why couldn't I use my Aid Self power?
A: I was being Immobilized on her Caltrops which brings us back to 2, how I didn't use any lucks
4.
Q: I kept getting knocked back and when I do I take more damage.
A: I got knocked out of Supremacy range because of her knockback attack which again brings me back to 2, how I didn't use any lucks
After that fight I will wait for my Assault Bot or wait to fight the Sea Witch to see how good I really am
