Well, the last few threads gave me a bit of insight. For instance, i didn't realize resistance was applied before bodyguard.
From this, I'm going to go with Mu Mastery. The shield will reduce the damage i take, and my bots take in BGMode, Electrifying Fences also prevent kb, so i can burnpatch the hell outta groups.
Scorpion is a good choice i suppose, but the problem is its defense. Find something to hit through that defense, and you've got nothin' left.

:| like I said before, people have solo'd all the AV's he's listed with using SO's years before. This whole thread is lame if he can't do stuff that people have done before with SO's and he's using IO's.
Until I see lord recluse or RV solo AV kills (which someone solo'd an AV in RV before the -regen nerf with SOs)... this whole thread is lame

lol. I may disagree with Lasto on some things (and have) but he's right on this score. Black, if burn patch is such a huge issue for ya, I'd likely consider a different secondary altogether. /dark and even /TA along with Mu Mastery are better picks than traps when it comes to that. I'm currently working on a bots/TA (already have /traps at 50) and he decimates spawns with that oil slick far faster than my bots/traps ever will. Of course there remains one point, and that is /traps is much better at taking out big targets like AV's. But then again, I don't feel a burning need to run around doing so and making look-at-me threads about it. Quite the contrary, you're far more likely to see me ramp down the slider to villainous just so I can blow through an EB as fast as I can so I can just move on to the next mish! Soloing AV's is inefficient and time consuming and my mommy and daddy gave me lots of attention when I was a wittle boy.
Further to that, how often have you participated in full teams of 8 with your bots/traps? The spawn sizes are so big that the KB is never even an issue at all so.... no problem, non-issue, no Mu required. And when you're soloing, the spawns aren't big enough to care about burn patches very much. In fact, my web nade technique works perfectly on small spawns like that, so I don't need Mu there either.

Sorry could you clarify your question? I am not understanding what you mean. Anyways, here's why I went Mu Mastery:
1) Mu Mastery shield gives 27.5% resistance to Smashing/Lethal/Energy. (Approximately 41% Enhanced... maybe more depending on slotting)
2) Bodyguard is a 75% damage reduction. You take 2 shares and your robots take 1. If an attack deals 100 damage, you take 25, and your robots take 12.5. With resistance, the numbers become:
41% Resistance -- 59 damage.
59 reduced by 75% = 14.75 damage is what you take, and pets take 7.3525 damage. You've almost halved the damage you and your pets take.
Tecnically, your resistance went from 75% (With just body guard) to 86% resistance. You've nearly "capped" your resistance.
And for something fun (That isn't practical)
Mastermind Resistance Cap = 75%.
75% of 100 is 25.
With bodyguard, 75% of 25 is 6.25.
Essentially, a Mastermind has 93.75% resistance at this point.
3) As a Mastermind, -Def hurts. You do NOT resist defense debuffs and even if you did they still hurt. (Earth Thorns were a pain) Attacks that reduce Defense are Lethal or Energy (Radiation). Mu's shield covers this so that when your defense fails you can resist it.
There are also attackers that have near auto-hit capabilities. (Quartz in Devouring Earth) Once they drop that, you have no defense. I've had a character with Moment of Glory, I've had Moment of Glory MAXED defense slotting. (MOG is like a 75% base defense, it is over 110% enhanced) -- DE still hit me with ease (In fact I don't think they missed). DE also deal the majority of smashing and lethal so you are protected here again.

Oh, the AV RVs? EASY! Only Mako is impossible. Recluse is hard, the other 3 are a cinch. Black Scorpion is the easiest and quickest. Scir and GW are just normal.
My global is @Peace on Earth, I'm on liberty server. If you get RV set up for me, with a single AV by itself, and keep the PvPers away, I'll solo it for you, at any time. Other than that, RV AVs are left for 3:30 or 4 am in the morning, because I hate PvP.
It's so sad. You are SO out of the loop that you think the RV AVs are hard. Lusca could kill all 5 of them at once.
Why do Heroes have this obsession with Captain Mako being hard? None of your Stormies take Tornado or something? Seems like every time I've heard someone mention Mako it's followed with impossible in global channels or otherwise. Seriously, all you need is Auto-Hit -Defense and some constant Defense De-buffing powers to follow and he's not that tough. Also all the Signature Heroes in RV are AoE monstrosities which are MMs bane, 'Specially BaB, Statesman, and Psyche since all their typical non-damage attacks or ST attacks were made into huge damaging AoEs (Handclap, Total Focus, Mass Hypnosis). But yeah, RV Sigs would be interesting to see get beat up by an MM.

The post in question said RV AVs, not RV Heros.
I would go so far as to say the NO MM can beat the RV AVs. I can see a lot of em beating the RV heros, but not the RV AVs. They need to be confused to hit them, and confusion plays havoc with a MM.
