Discussion: In-Game Halloween Event

The costume temp power gravitates towards an epic set I've long wanted. A bodysnatcher. I think after this event I won't be the only one calling for it anymore.

The basic idea is that you start the game as a disembodied spirit and take possession of NPC bodies throughout the game (being able to take first only minions then lts and then bosses at high level). You'd have a constant set of psi powers plus an additional couple of powers from the body you are occupying.

This would take some serious work to implement but I think it'd be really cool is possible.

The Halloween Event sounds great, I'm glad their doing pretty much the same thing as last year (forgot to get some of the badges/extra costume slot on my main character).

I'm not sure if this has already been asked and answered, but if someone recieved the extra costume slot last year on Halloween, can they get ANOTHER extra costume slot this year? Probably not, but just checking.

Yes (I think it was answered 'up thread' as well). The salvage for this extra slot will be dropping again when the event goes live (or, in the spirit of the holiday.. 'UnLive'.. yah yah.. shoot me for bad puns ). The NPC's for it will remain in place even after the event 'dies' (get it? dies? Halloween? Bah... )

I think he was asking that if we already have the extra slot (so 5 total) can we get another one (so 6 total)?

I believe the answer is no. Only five slots, but if you didn't get it last year, you can get it again this year.

Yogi - almost certainly, the event won't start until after Daily Maintenance. They generally have to take the servers down to turn an event On or Off (even if only fir ten or fifteen minutes), so it's simplest to just do it at the same time as they're coming down already, yes?

eSeraphim - to the best of my knowledge, yes; I seem to recall that having all four of last years' salvage makes the relevant contact show up even in july.

It should start up shortly after the daily maintenance period, around 10 AM Central time (8 AM Pacific, 11 AM Eastern).

at Pax - i suppose so... but there have been 'maintenances' that fell considerably early compared to normal...

just wondering if that was the plan this time around...

Just be glad it's not real Halloween. Otherwise some people would be getting well deserved bag snatches. :-p I could see that happening a lot in the Rogue Isles though.

The way it worked last year (for both the Halloween event and Winter event) is that it didn't start up *immediately* after servers came back up, but around 11am EST, which is the end of the normal maintenance period.

LH said it would start at around the end of the normal maintenance period, not when servers actually came back up. They probably have a set time to activate the event so it's the same across all servers, since sometimes some servers take longer than others to come back up.

Hi Dracolan, no you wouldn't be able to get another costume slot from Halloween salvage. The salvage buys you a "5th costume slot" so if you've already turned the salvage into Granndy Beldam she'll tell you to go away if you approach her again.

Absolutely! Last year's salvage has been good all year, available at the Black Market (or Wentworth's) and this year's salvage will be a continuation of those same 4 pieces. I still have many sets leftover that I haven't shared among my alts yet, but it will be fun to collect more. It becomes addicting!

I'm looking so forward to this year's Halloween event. It was last year at this time that my hubby and I made our SS brutes together and were leveling through Sharkhead around Halloween event. We got married then in real life and built the story around our toons getting married. LOL, we are sappy, I know. So this Halloween will be our first anniversary, in-game and in real life! Mourning Temptress and Beat-Down (Mr. Victory Rogue Isles , w00t!).
