Sounds good. I'll log on my 32 brute that still needs the banner badges, Candy Martini. If a zombie invasion gets triggered instead, I'll quick switch over to my crab spider, Madam Longfang, my only character who still needs the invasion badges. Thanks for organizing this! My crab hasn't turned in her salvage yet so I'll be able to do that if we need to try again.

Great! Maybe we'll be lucky enough to find a bunch of people pushing for last minute badges. I'll stay up all night if I have to!

The only disappointment is that the salvage might trigger zombies instead of a Deadly.
That's a chance I'll take, sign me up! I have a few villains who didn't get the new badges. Just bad timing I guess, not finding enough people interested.

Is anyone making a last run tonight? My night widow has all 4 banner badges but just couldn't get the darned mystic aspect even after several tries with various teams.

I realize a whole lot of people, including myself, are bumrushing low level missions, but others, including myself on some other alts, might be doing them the "normal" way with a group of friends and not see the need for every memeber of the team to take the same mission.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I always suggest to my teammates to get the mission anyway, why miss out on free XP?

See, I have the unfortunate circumstances of having a life and family which I must tend to, and weekends are the time to do it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The answer to this problem, of course, is for your family to play together. Problem solved!
  7. Ha ha, what a great thread, I just found it. Count us in as another family who plays together. My son was 9 and daughter 10 when we started over 2 years ago. My then boyfriend gave us the account because he had an extra one. At first I hadn't even planned on playing but quickly got caught up in it. Eventually he and I got married, added on 2 more accounts, and now all 4 of us can team together.

When my son was still 9, I discouraged him from joining teams with "strangers." I wanted to feel comfortable that he could handle himself properly in social situations. I teamed with him a lot, taught him how to talk to people, how to be a good teammate, and all the other little intricacies of the game.

Now he is 11 and I trust that he can handle any social situation of the game. Sometimes teamed with him on a PuG, I see him make comments and think to myself, "was that my 11 year old son who just made that witty comment?" LOL. He has worked hard on his favorite scrapper and hit 49 this double XP weekend. He's playing right now and will achieve his first 50 today.

Now my ultra mature, now 12 1/2 yr old daughter on the other hand I have never worried about in social situations. She is a writer by nature and has always enjoyed the character creation much more than the actual playing. She will spend hours writing her characters' background stories, play to level 4, then log off to read a book. LOL. They each have their own styles and that is great.

So CoH/V has been a source of education for both of my kids too. And family bonding time! When I refer to our hobby to friends or family, I say that we spend a lot of time playing games together. I don't have to specify that we are each in our own rooms playing through our respective computers!
  8. Hearing everyone's voices sounds chaotic to me. Especially in the heat of the moment. Yikes! I don't think I'll try it. But a cool option for those interested. Personally, I find the chat feature part of the game's charm. I'm afraid that hearing people's real voices will mess with the illusion of their character. Right? You team up with some studly dude for a while and have this whole fantasy thing going, only to hook up your headphones to find a prepubescent voice on the other end. Ugh, no thanks! I'll stick to the role-playing.
  9. Something I love about the wedding pack which I have not seen anyone mention is the 3 new non-bridal costume pieces for females, Hearts Plus, Excess Plus, and Angelic Plus. I love love love the Excess Plus with its strappiness and the Angelic Plus with its little lacey circles, so pretty! I can't resist taking all my characters to the tailor for makeovers!

After being caught between mob rule and the bouncer Castle we decided to head to AP4 and we actually made it into the ceremony (much more civil there).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ah, this explains why I didn't have any trouble attending the event and am reading these horror stories of crowd control and force bubbles and all that. I went to Atlas Park 4! Which apparently was a lot less crazy.

Lighthouse was there, and he actually *discouraged* us from getting in line. It was a player's idea for us to form a line and Lighthouse apparently didn't think it a good idea. Here is what he said (pasted from my chat log):

"02-14-2008 18:34:43 [Admin] NCsoft_Lighthouse: For those that are in line, just so you know the process to get into the event is just done by who gets in when the event is turned on and people are clicking on the usher to get in."

Once he said that, we all got out of line, crowded around the usher and started clicking. So apparently Castle was a lot more militant than Lighthouse (and possibly necessarily so if there were tons more people in the other instances of Atlas Park).

One thing that might be nice is a way to buy this as a gift, since the store apparently doesn't support that directly. I mean, if anything screamed gift that would be in the store, this does.

My hubby (Beat-Down ) got the wedding pack for me as my valentine gift! What a great surprise. I firmly told him last night "please don't bring me chocolate tomorrow" so he got me this great calorie-free gift (of course he has access to my account so this won't work for everyone!). He is the sweetest! Despite his "Brutal Savage" appearance....

Does anyone know if you can use last years salvage for this years constume slots?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Absolutely! Last year's salvage has been good all year, available at the Black Market (or Wentworth's) and this year's salvage will be a continuation of those same 4 pieces. I still have many sets leftover that I haven't shared among my alts yet, but it will be fun to collect more. It becomes addicting!

I'm looking so forward to this year's Halloween event. It was last year at this time that my hubby and I made our SS brutes together and were leveling through Sharkhead around Halloween event. We got married then in real life and built the story around our toons getting married. LOL, we are sappy, I know. So this Halloween will be our first anniversary, in-game and in real life! Mourning Temptress and Beat-Down (Mr. Victory Rogue Isles , w00t!).
  13. [ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure if this has already been asked and answered, but if someone recieved the extra costume slot last year on Halloween, can they get ANOTHER extra costume slot this year? Probably not, but just checking.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hi Dracolan, no you wouldn't be able to get another costume slot from Halloween salvage. The salvage buys you a "5th costume slot" so if you've already turned the salvage into Granndy Beldam she'll tell you to go away if you approach her again.
  14. Wow, didn't know this thread was here. Glad I didn't see it before my birthday or it would have spoiled the surprise! :-)

An amazing birthday gift from my husband, commissioned artwork of my fave character. It looks even more gorgeous in person! He actually chose version 2 and here is the final, colored result.

  15. Your whole post is exactly the way I have successfully done solo mayhems. You can easily run to the bank without any harm and fight the few Longbow either outside the door or inside the lobby. Granted, I have only done the mayhems up through Ind. Port, but several times each (I have a lot of alts), and they are very predictable. I have not run into any of the bugged huge groups of mobs (yet?!). I should also point out that my main objective is the cool temporary power, so I never bother with any of the other stuff. Maybe I should(!) since I've mastered getting the temp power.

One of the strongest points you made is never do a mayhem with strangers. It is a recipe for disaster and people wind up hating each other. I always politely decline when invited to join a "bank robbery" as some people have started calling them. I don't understand why some people start putting huge teams together as soon as they are given the mayhem mission.

Well anyway, thanks for the cool guide. It is exactly how I have done them successfully, meaning getting the temp power of course. It just depends on your purpose I guess. All the other stuff is out of my league right now.
