Wow! Its like either a Paragon Times from an alternate dimension, or someone has been messing with the time continum! I would doubt this is Recluse's doing as it certianly doesn't favor him at all, and how did Manticore, of all people, get caught in the middle of it?
Dimensions of infinate possiblities or the infinate continuity of time itself?
Or maybe Manticor and recluse are the only ones that know history is out of shape. So they could be working together to restore the natural order.
As I recall from the comic and the books, Manticore was just a child when his parents were murdered. Where as here they were alive into his 20s.
I also noticed mention of the 5th and was jazzed.

Heh, this is pretty cool. I already stated that I'm not in favor of alternate-reality time lines, but this has me warming up to the idea.
Uh for those talking about the 5th, that was referencing WWII, not modern day. The Council take over could have still happened, just not for several decades.
I want them back too, seeing as I missed them first time around, but remember this was just referring to the Presinator whooping tail half a century ago.

Need to check my Aeon continuity, but I did notice this: According to the article, Recluse lead a unsuccessful coup against President Marchand in 1963. Here is one of the plaques from the Arashnos Rising History badge, located in Grandville:

Similar timeframe, so another veering off from our reality.
Now for some Dr. Aeon info, he first 'appeared' in 1990 shortly after the former Governer Randall Kirchoff, was killed by a reckless scientific prodigy named Dr. Carl Egon, who was then 'executed.' So either Egon is pretty old, or another change from our dimention.
So, Aeon with influence/help from someone else (I'm thinking Nemesis) goes back and changes time creating an alternate time-line (or who knows maybe I10 we all wake up in a totally different world).
The Recluse of that timeline has figured this out and recruits Manticore with plans to revert the timeline so he does at least control the rogue isles.
The rebels are 5th columnists and they've got or are onto something that would allow recluse to do his own timeline fix.
I don't know. I'd love it if they could truly do a whole paradigm shift and arachnos gets replaced on the rogue isles all of the contacts in paragon are effectively replaced as well.
We maybe get a reworked STF and Grandville zone.
It's a whole new mission/contact system with newspapers and police scanners still present.
Both tutorial sections are redone.
The whole thing lasts until issue 11 when someone successfully reverts things.
Oh, yeah. not so much.
Some of this is possible, but probably not the big stuff.
Different since 1937? This isnt a future without _you_, this is flat out a parallel dimension. We arent even a part of the equation!
Unless "you" were eliminated by, say, someone assassinating your grandparents. In which case, thanks to Ye Olde Butterfly Effect, it's a minor miracle that the resultant timeline would be recognizable at all.

I wouldn't rely too heavily on the Arachnos Rising Plaques, either. Those seem to me to be heavily slanted 'history' plaques, as in that's the Lord Recluse version of history.

Rampant speculation: about the main thing I can see which happened in 1937 in Our Timeline was the passing of the Citizen Crime Fighting Act.
There may be more clues in other sources, like plaques and badges.

Um...Ok...whatever happened to the rule where you cant be elected president more than twice? I am pretty sure they made this a rule at some point in time. Secondly I cant believe that is Manticore or Recluese. Something is up with this.

Indeed, one can gather from this that Statesman is a more harsh person then we realize. Although he does agree that lethal force is not OUT of the question, just a method of last resort.

Issue 1: Perhaps Statesman's daughter was able to take with her this time, a dose of her immortality and did not have a duaghter that stands in Atlas Park?
Issue 2: Interesting point, but it sounds like without Brawler's help ( he was in a coma) he didn't just tetter on the edge, he went over the side! He wasn't ejected from the FP, he was suspended (like me o.-, what a cranky guy) for going against orders and using lethal force.
Issue 3: Perhaps the theory that Recluse and Manticore are working together to fix things is correct,let's suppose for a moment. That would mean they would not be doing so without a goal, both are level headed men, a immortal demigod and a writer's personal character, neither, as centuries of literary has told us, will be dim witted. Or perhaps there are Robots, and those two are the only one's left. Perhaps it's just something that came through portal tech's portal one day, you know paperboy with a huge throwing arm.
Perhaps, Statesman is the evil, and has controlled the media to make it sound like they are terrorists, all things fabricated against them and woven into a web. Marcus was always the one with the plans in the First book and Stephan I believe resented him for it, hence his need to sharpen and increase his mind, rather then Marcus compensating for his need for hired muscle, ergo his focusing on super strength.
